It's quite easy to learn too. I was in Tanzania, Dar es Salaam for a month and learned so much swahili in that time, maybe 2 months more I'd be fluent.

Swahili has a clarity to its sound that gives the impression that it could be readily learned by foreigners, unless of course it is outweighed by a complicated grammar. (By contrast, my own language English is quite a mess.)

But they are not related. Swahili is a Bantu language from the Niger-Congo family, while Arabic is a Semitic language from the Afroasiatic family.
