Hi, I loved your reaction, practically no other reactors have understood the words and the emotions of this song, they always comment on his voice but they just didn't see the whole picture of this performance. You should watch the entire performance, it's amazing, all Australian cast and it's an amazing show. 👍👍👍
This is often referred to as 'The Agony in the Garden" where Jesus (the man) knows what is about to happen and needs to be clear it is necessary to die. John just captures that 'agony' he questions and asks that if there is another way to serve God. But finally surrenders to God his Father. I sit here with my hand on my heart every time I watch this performance. This was the final night of Jesus Christ Superstar a 'rock musical' John's performance in this was brilliant. Thanks so much for this reaction and yes they did take a little creative licence but I feel the message of Christ's agony in the Garden of Gethsemane would still bring awareness to people who had no idea of His life, Death and Resurrection. Love from Australia
This is not a 'concert' but is called a musical. A film about John (not 'Johnny' - he dislikes that!) Farnham's singing career is to be released on May 18th in Australia, named. 'Finding The Voice'.
This is a musical which was in Sydney 1992 and to me one of the greatest vocal performances ever. No one could play that role or portray the emotion and power.
I was at this concert. Last night in Sydney in 1992. Third row from the front. Great production and John was awesome. John's passion, emotion and voice filled the whole arena. ❤
Great reaction. John not Johny he hates that. That is when he was a lot younger and trying to get away from his po boy image to be a adult singer and become his own person in the music industry. He is known as John to everyone or to his friends and fans as Farnsey. John can really sing anything. Wishing him well on his long road to recovery. Not long been back in hospital with a chest infection but home again now. His new Documentary movie came out last week called Finding The Voice about his struggles to make it from the boy that did pop to make it as an artist that everyone would take seriously and family struggles he had as well. Only being shown in Australia in cinema's for a while to all us fans outside Australia will have to wait to see a DVD of it but will be shown on Australian TV first before being streamed anywhere else. He has such a phenomenal powerful voice you can see why the band Queen asked him to be their frontman before Paul Rodgers but John said no to them. Thanks again for sharing our Johns Music. 🇬🇧 Farnsey Fan
You see Jesus, the man, going through the stages of grief: pleading, questioning, doubting, anger, and finally acceptance of his fate. John portrays this perfectly in what many consider the best performance of Jesus on a stage. Even if you don't believe the story, you can still feel the humanity of the character.
Jesus was fully God and fully man, and 'was tempted in all things like as we are'. So it is logical that He (man) would fear what He (God) knew He was about to go through. I always found it interesting that the soldiers took him away from the garden in the middle of the night. When I first heard the last few lines "Take me now before I change my mind" (man) the first time I heard this song, I realised that of course - He had made His decision, and there was no reason to wait.
This was the final night of the stage show, Jesus Christ Superstar. Don’t think it was John’s choice to change the last part. Today I got to see the advanced screening of John’s Autobiographical Movie for Mother’s Day. To other Aussies, take tissues and I cannot wait to see it again. I knew almost everything that was in it but I still wasn’t ready to watch the one’s we have loved as family pass away. It was like losing Glenn Wheatley and Olivia Newton John all over again. To see Glenn’s wife Gaynor narrate so much of it. The first 25 years of John’s career he was used and abused. He deserves to be known and loved. Thank you for your reaction.
Give this song another try and watch the outstanding performance of Dan Vasc. A metal singer who did an amazing cover. Never felt the pain so much like in his version. Really... you will be blown away.
John as we know by now is a legend but the way to listen to him sing is live. This icon has a voice for live performances and it's the only way to get the raw talent this guy has. So here's a few great songs performed live, 'When The War Is Over' ruclips.net/video/BekbvlLzMWc/видео.html, 'That's Freedom' ruclips.net/video/JWjtlMBl3Xo/видео.html, 'Pressure Down' ruclips.net/video/EAof9HJKZT4/видео.html.
Here is a God playing Jesus. John never ceases to amaze from performance to performance. It doesn’t matter what he sings, if it’s John you know it’s going to be great. The greatest and most versatile male singer of all time. This was chilling.
When I listen to John performing this song I wonder how many atheists and fence sitters were convinced by the power of the emotion he projected into the audience. That has always been his secret weapon as a performer. He expresses it through his voice but also his body. When you look closely you see the micro expressions, the rapid breathing, his gestures and body positions. He convinced you he is Jesus going through the agony.
What does this even mean? Why would atheists and "fence sitters" have any problem understanding the emotion he projects? Emotion is not only relevant to people who believe in god, and the idea of sacrifice is not only relevant to Jesus. The fact that John Farnham, who like most Australians is not religious, is able to express emotion in a story about a person making difficult sacrifices, is not something that would suddenly convince anyone that there is an invisible supreme being that rules the universe. Hint: it's called acting.

Thank you so much for the super thanks I truly appreciate the support! Is there a specific song you would like me to react to next? Also my apologies about Johnny I did not know that and will call him John for now on. God Bless!
He's already reacted to those 2! Maybe if he hasn't seen John rocking out much, It's a Long Way to the Top with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (AC/DC cover) or You're the Voice (he reacted to the studio official video before, not live with MSO). But yeah, pretty much anything live he will smash it.
Too religious for me. JCS was more about the political situation & how it caused others see it differently. This was before Christianity. That happened 300 years later
That's it though it's not about feeling but truth. I am a Christian and I love all people because Christ loves all people. I can disagree with something and still love you. Does that make sense? Can I ask why you don't feel loved? God bless
@@gametchanger I’m so glad you feel that way cause I thought that was what God was about. I’m transgender …. Waiting now for you to tell me how evil I am

Touching performance powerful. Thank you
Finally found one of John's most outstanding performances , although having said that, all his performances are spot on .

Wow. That would have been amazing!
This cast is by far my favourite for this musical
Please more, more from John Farnham. The love that arises will help his recovery from cancer 🙏🏼❤️ Greetings from germany
John Farnham: Angels and Amazing Grace are life changing!!!
You did it!
So pleased to hear your reaction. With your knowledge on religion I have hoped you got to it.
I learnt something today
As John would say himself, "It's John. John!"
Jesus Christ Superstar was a great stage show to go to.
this was done as a rock opera not a stage show and our best singers and musicians performed
Christian or not. There is no doubt this is a powerful performance.
From 'Jesus Christ Superstar' - John was brilliant (as were all the cast)
Have you done Help with the Melbourne orchestra . Love it and it is the last song after a 2 hour concert

@@Saan42 THANK YOU. I was trying to come up with the words to say the same thing. It’s a performance. And no-one performs like John
What a strange comment. You don't need to be religious to understand the song, & be moved by the John's emotion & performance.

G'day mate
I've watch your site a bite always get a 👍
I'm not religious but can appreciate others who are
I look at it this way if it makes someone a better person how can it be bad regardless which religious background
It's only a issue when it's miss used as some do
The reason I watch your site is you don't push your beliefs on other but do explain you point of view
There's nothing wrong with that as we are all different and have different needs
As for myself I'm a believer that you treat people how you'd want to be treated and your family in what ever the situation
I've always been a strong individual and if I make a mistake I'll own it and apologised for that
Then it's up to the other person Wether they accept it and want to keep associating with me
I'll never force anyone to be in my life same as I won't be in others life that I don't want to be but they'll know why
Cheers mate stay safe enjoy family 🦘🇦🇺👍
You should listen to Dan Vasc doing this.

Whatever book it's from it is still fiction, but a good story anyway.
Why is Jesus called God. When he was his son?
The Trinity. God 3 in 1. Read John 1:1 when you get the chance. God bless!
Excuse me Jesus isn't God. He's God's son.
Jesus is God the Son , read john 1 , and isaiah 9v6. Its very obvious
Jesus is God the Son, it's in the scriptures
Modern Christians believe that Jesus is part of a Trinity.
Plenty of versus show that Jesus is God. God Bless
