As a KISS fan since 1975, I am embarrassed to admit that I had never heard this song before. Thanks for posting!
Your not alone lol
WOW... Born in "65" and those vintage pix took me back. (Ahh the 70's... as I grow older it saddens me) What an UNbelievable time KISS must of had, all the fame/attention yet anonymity thanx to the make-up.
Back when albums were mailed to your house for a penny (TIME LIFE) my neighbor gave me KISS ALIVE II... I was 11 and I was hooked.
Take me back
I'm 49 and I heard Destroyer in 1976 and I was hooked. You're totally right about there fame and anonymity. No one that wasn't born then can understand it. How they could walk the streets without being recognized. Wouldn't work today with all mobile phones with camera.
im 50 i discovered kiss in 75 and first saw them live dec77 when i was 11
Glide Consulting
I also forgot the tattoos that came with their albums.
Glide Consulting 👍
Johnny Perez What's up all you Kiss folks out there! I am 50 & I too went nuts when Ace, Gene, Peter & Paul got hold of me! First album I ever got was Alive 2 & I literally wore it out! I remember one time I showed my Grandmother the back of the album cover she looked at it and said " Ugh they are beasts " Ya know what? She was right!!! Keep on rockin folks!
Why the Hell didn't they do MORE songs like this??? More Ace cutting loose on guitar too!
This could have been on par with their greatest hits. The riff and guitar runs are so distinct early raw Kiss. Very much a gem of 70s classic rock 🎸
Ironically, this is one of my favorite KISS songs...The song is so simple...but just oozes a rock n' roll sexual-coolness that is hypnotic.
I have NEVER heard this !! It’s an awesome tune. The vintage KISS photos were amazing. It looked like they were having so much fun at that time. On top of the world. IMO, the early KISS will always be the BEST ! Thanks for the memories you guys !
I love this tune, Ace was amazing! Great song, love KISS!
Actually, it sounds like a cross between "Mr. Speed" and "Christine Sixteen."
+Charles Elliott there's a turnaround that's similar to 'room service' in there too. but yeah, good observation.
Agreed!
Charles Elliott it's a cool tune
Rolling stones
True lol.
0:23 You know. I've never seen a picture of Ace without his makeup from that time period.
1:11 Peter too.
I like this song -- good chord changes and catchy vocal melodies. The band could've really worked up this tune for an official album release if they wanted to, and I'll bet the fans would totally dig it.
I normally would talk sh*t about "picture video " , BUT THIS ONE KICKS ASS ,
AWESOME COLLECTION OF VINTAGE ASS KISS ,
thanks man
This is incredible. The Holy Grail of lost KISS demos with a ton of rare, rare photos. Awesome. Awesome. Thank you.
Sounds like i'm listening to the Rolling Stones ! Happy sounding song.
Reminds me of the Stones too. To my ears it sounds like the song was built around a classic Keith Richards chord riff.
Paul, Gene, and Peter: "Real cool, Ace! How'dja make ya hair silver?" Ace: "I spray-painted it. AAAACK!"
Spray paint curly!
Love all the old pics .
Ace reminds me a lot of a neighbor of ours back in Belle Harbor. His name was Billy Corning. They're both native New Yorkers. They're around the same age. They're both part American Indian. They enjoy a similar sense of humor. Best of all, though, they both abide by the same hang-loose, rock-and-roll attitude! Long live them both!
Yerblues 87, this is absolutely amazing! I am 43 yrs old and a huge Kiss fan. this is sooo great. I am very disappointed in myself. I have never heard this song. I have every album and have been into Kiss since I was about 10. again, great great great job here!
Oh my god I love this song. Why did this song not make any of the albums? Or for that matter, at least the box set that already had a bunch of unreleased songs on it. Please KISS put this on an album.
Ihave been a Kiss fan a long time and i never heard this song sounds early raw music. Great sound.
What a Fantastic song . Why wasn't this on Love Gun . Would have been a Top Ten song on the radio.
As. A kiss fan this is also my first time that i hear this song
It s a good song Gr patricia
What an excellent song!Great pics too! Makes you feel like you are there with the band in the early days.
es una joyita este tema!!!!!
excelente!!!!!!!!!!!!
They should have put this on Love Gun. it would have fit in.
KICK ASS AWESOME LIBRARY OF MUSIC. YOU ROCK ⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥
That picture at 3:10, wow! You can really see the New York Dolls influence on Stanley, cool video and song.
Great tune. Very remindant of another Kiss song? Thanks.
As our heroes, and all of us get older, let's remember those great times, the passion and loyalty for our favorite band, the R and R, and the sheer fun of it all. This is a very cool slide show, bringing back SO many memories. Thank you YERBLUES87 !
probably one of the best KISS songs ever RIGHT HERE...
This is a really GREAT song !! WHY didn't they ever put this on an ALBUM ??
This is a really good rock n roll song. This early songs is great. I guess it from 1973-75.
Very rockin' song! Thanks for posting this, it's a great late night song to enjoy with a cold beer.
Took a while, but I finally got some answers about this. My source is working on a book covering 1973-1983, and he got his information right from their old tour manager, JR Smalling. This was recorded at Magna Graphic Studios in August 1975. It's Paul, Gene, and Ace playing on this, with JR on drums.
Did you even read my comment? Or do you have a severe short-term memory problem?
Really? it doesn't sound like that era.Work on Destroyer began a few months later.
Thanks for info.
I think it sounds like a mix of Dressed to kill och Rock n roll over period.
hey bill i saw kiss in 77 i was 11 acdc opened with bon
kissed61 "Don'cha Hesitate" is from the same period, around the time "Alive!" came out, and it's not much different from this. Remember, "Destroyer" sounds different because of Ezrin. This song and "Don'cha Hesitate" were demoed before he had any influence over the material they were presenting to him.
Is this an early version of Mr. Speed? Maybe. Very similar indeed. Funny I thought I knew everything Kiss.... Go figure, there is always something to learn. Really great pics/video thanks for posting, a nice treat!
zmerk11 Just 15 mins ago I found out Killers had new content.
They really need to release this one! Got harmonies, great backbeat and of course, signature Ace !
Great song.. How could this not make it on to a Kiss album is beyond me..
I really liked that picture with the cards - Gene as "king", Paul as "queen"; Peter as the "joker" and Ace as Ace of spades. Excellent.
Man I've been a kiss fan all my life and never heard this song. Great song and great job on the video. Love the old school stuff. Thanks.
The Smoke is great! With or without their warpaint, and bombs, and pyro, KISS music rocks! Detroit Rock City, Strutter, Black Diamond, Love Gun, God of Thunder, Rock And Roll All Night, Shout It Out Loud, Beth, Deuce, etc., have stood the test of time and always will! KISS ROCKS!
You forgot Cold Gin ....
Cold Gin is great. So is Nothin' To Lose, 100,000 Years, She, Magic Touch, Strange Ways, Shock Me, etc. Yes, Lindsey, KISS music is great and classic hard rock! Personally, my favorite KISS classic is Detroit Rock City.
Jeff Railey
you forgot their best songs..... i was made for loving you.... shandi.... she's so european...... ok ok you can stop laughing now, yes i'm joking!!!!
podoz lol. :)
Awsome Awsome Awsome This song is Great...Clip is Amazing...Always great to see some KISS footage that I've not seen before...just shows the Absolute Power these guys had back in the day...Imagine it...AWSOME...Ohh to be there...You are a Legend for uploadind this...THANX
Some cool pictures on here.
THANK'S TO YOU...KISS MEMBER (;-))...TO POSTING THESE PICTURES !!!...
Kool song! Kool pics! Totally sounds like 75 or 76 era KISS! The best times!
I hear a few things in here. At the start I hear Mr Speed at lower register and later around the 30 secs Shout it out Loud. I say Mr Speed because as a drummer it is one of my favourite riffs off all time and this use to annoy many guitarists who could play Jimi Hendrix etc and it may be simple but it for me it is the perfect riff.
Cheers M8, Same deal as the other guys here KISS forever & have never heard it
If you're talking about the same box set I purchased in mid 2002, I don't have it.
They did include several demos (and "Mad Dog" was more to my personal preference than "Flaming Youth [ look 'em both up, if you don't already know them ]). I wish they had, though- thanks to RUclips, I'm stumbling across a WEALTH of unreleased Kiss demos! As a longtime Kiss fan (and I'm 38),I'm a-lovin' it
Peace, fellow KISS (and Gibson) fan!
Pretty good tune. Catchy chorus. It owuld be interesting to see them release this in some form.
this song has that rolling stones feel to it, very cool groove on this!
Haven't heard this, in forever. Great pics, and tbhanks for the pics of Bob.
WOW!!! GREAT JOB!!! I've heard this YEARS ago, but it's so cool to hear again, especially with the vintage pics! THANKS!!!!!
Nancylovesace
Cool tune!
Great Pics..!!
Never heard this one. Pretty cool with sort of 'Brown Sugar' stones like riff. Thanks for posting it and ROCK ON!
NICE!! KISS is just MAGIC! AND....Ace is always so flipping HOTTT!!!!!!
Y'know what y'all hear is good ol' rock'n'roll! Those riffs don't die and are interchangeable! And that's o.k. It's already a improv on a blue's riff anyway but not everyone will recognize that. There are only soooo many notes really. Think about it! This is beautiful! A perfect song!
man. i thought i had knew everything about these guys......GREAT song...why isnt it on RARO???
great pictures!!! GREAT JOB!!
i really like the pics man good job and great song...i wish it wood have been released
As a kid growing up in the 70's I am really glad I was not exposed to their true ID's. Seeing KISS without their makeup would have ruined it for me. They wouldn't be KISS anymore.
Really catchy tune that sticks in your head,,,, KISS has so many albums of music, even paul says he cannot really remember a lot of the old songs that where not hits..fuck man the dude is only human.
cool video!!! Great song, to bad it didnt make it to a record!
Best from Late night with Johnny P Show
How cool! Loved the pics! So young!!! Thanks for the post
wow great video...thanx from san francisco ca !!
Recorded in 1975 and was supposed to be on the Dressed To Kll lp, but got cut. Shame. This is one of their better songs..
I can't believe this song didn't make any of the albums. It's a great one.
this rocks! thank you for posting!!! looove the 70s!!!!
Best thing they've done! Killer chorus! This and really acrobat have that raw kiss sound. Now their a joke!
Intheevening 123 *they're
Absolutely agree
AWESOME STUFF !! Never heard that song ! Some rare pictures too. What a treat !
great compilation and photos thanks Julian
This song kicks asses better than all the songs Kiss released from 1985 to present day.
That was really great YERBLUES87 enjoyed it very much
I loved the original KISS. It's the only KISS. In spite of all the issues they had, when they got together it was magic. And nothing else mattered.
Yer Blues, you are AWESOME. I can't express in words just how much I love you for this.
Nice job Julian with the video...loved the old KISS pics!
Great montage! Rare song and rare pictures.
Muy buena esta cancion; simple, sencilla y directa, el Kiss de los primeros años. Buen swing..!!!!
Very interesting. Huge old Kiss fan and I had never seen most of the photos. Some would have made great posters. I have never heard that song either and again, I thought i knew them all.
Fantastic!!!
Awesome!!..peace
Cool. I hear Mr Speed and Shout it out loud all over this song.
This does sound like something that might have been recorded for Dressed To Kill or maybe Destroyer... I was thinking Mr Speed as well...which was demoed during the Dressed sessions originally. Anyway...it is a great tune....and the video u made is top notch!!!!!
You turned on the original VIBE that KISS had !!!
This is KISS !!!!!
Songs like this one made them famous but then they forgot their roots 😎
i never heard this one.!!!! but i love it.....great song!!!
My all time favorite band.
this song makes me want to grab my gibson LES PAUL AND MARSHALL AMP and learn this song cool video thanks for posting it
Thank you for this upload they were my heroes as a child
A lot of those images or images from those sessions hang on my wall in the early eighties:) I love Kiss from this area:) Good times:)
Thanks for the KISSmas present.
I watch this video almost every day for about a year, over and over... And each time I thank YERBLUES87 with all my heart!
GREAT PHOTOS VERY RARE!!!!!
According to Julian Gill, this song, It Ain't the Smoke, was post-Dressed to Kill but before Ezrin which would place it in 1975. First time I've heard it. It was just "uncovered" in July 2010. This is likely from a demo that they were using to prep for the next record. Ezrin wanted to move them away from this type of song, and so they did! Not sure who played here. I am sure that Ace isn't on this. Most likely it was Paul who played all the guitars. The pictures here are great!
Awsome song they should have put it on an LP
wow!!! this was beyond awesome!!! thanks for sharing this!!!!
wow. awesome photos! They were so cool back then.
Kool! Big fan, never heard this one. Saved in my favs!
These photo's are f%&king amazing. I thought I'd seen just about everything, where did you get these? Love Gene at 2:10 ,very expressive. The guys in front of the record shop at 2:47 awesome shot(summer 76?) & best of all,Guitars backstage at 1:30 .......that is one Very,VERY cool photo. Thank you so much YERBLUES, absolutely incredible, very well done.
Cool song!
70s and 80s...Great Expectations, Flaming Youth,X in Sex, I Still Love You,Pretty much the whole Elder album....I don't believe you're making me list this, I could keep going on...
Good job finding the pics !
