Thank you for that thorough trip through Fleur's book. It's killing me that I can't get a copy until next May. As a child of the 1950's it has taken me years to overcome the mindset that what I do with a needle and thread is more than craft or mere woman's work. I now acknowledge that I am, in fact, an artist. I just use needle, thread, and cloth instead of paint or other media. 😊
I’m sorry you have such a long wait! You could ask Fleur’s publishers if they would post to you as I think they were sending copies but the postage might be a bit expensive? Cheers, Christine
Hi Christine, just stumbled on your videos today as I was searching for slow stitch project ideas and inspiration, and your channel is a treasure trove of beauty and talent. Thank You for all your hard work and showing this lovely book. Helen, Charlotte NC, USA

I’m so happy you have this book to enjoy too 💙 Fleur has such a talent and is a really lovely person too - feel lucky to have didn’t time with her this year at a five day art retreat 💚
Whoop Whoop Christine, glad you got the book, Fleur is Our Top NZ Textile and stitchery Guru and so proud of her, it is stunning and awesome reading. My Hubby bought mine as a Birthday Gift. You will not be disappointed in her course. A wealth of information you will never forget. Enjoy hun xx
What a lovely gift to receive and we are so lucky that Fleur shared her inspiration with us all. I am so incredibly excited about the workshop and love that I can get to know Fleur’s philosophy and approach through her book ahead of the retreat 💙 cheers, Christine
Wow for the beauty and inspiration!! I admire people like Fleur who are able to transmit their passion to others, who share and spread their love for creativity! Thank you,Christine ❤
Sure enjoyed the preview of the book. I have been trying to get inspired and while watching this was able to begin a list of thoughts to bring it to fruition. Thank you so much!
Wow! Thank you for letting us browse the pages of this awesome book with you! Lucky Trav going with you for a whole week, when you’ll be submerging yourself in the magic of fabric art. Sounds fun! Thank you Christine! 🌷tess
It’s such an inspiring and beautiful book! Travers is going to love exploring the beautiful countryside where we are staying with Alex during the days while I’m creating 💛 cheers, Christine
How beautifully relaxing that was. You kept me company as I tidied away everything I had out on the table for the button prompt. Fleur is certainly an inspirational artist. ❤
Looking forward to watching your button prompt video Leanne after a day spent doing garden work and house chores. Fleur is incredible! Cheers, Christine
I just watched your video of the workshop with Fleur Woods. What a fantastic location! You girls were having too much fun. I don't know if I could ever be that creative. 😊 I just got Jennifer's book on freeform embroidery and am excited to start working my way through it. I'll be teaching a workshop for senior ladies late this month and plan to introduce them to slow stitching. I hope they'll be receptive to the idea. First I'll have to see if any are beginners or if they just need to refresh their stitching skills.
Thanks Kay - I am sure you are very creative and Fleur is an incredibly nurturing guide. Plus being in a room full of people who love to explore creatively just feels so energising. I have a shorter workshop with Fleur later this year and am going back to Green Door next year for another retreat with Fleur 💚 And how wonderful that you will be sharing your creativity with a bunch of ladies - I think they will find slow stitch very freeing. Jennifer’s book will be great inspiration too 🤗
Lovely to see this this book finally, mine is due here today! Thank you for giving us a little flip through Christine, it is beautiful! I picked up that you are interested is starting a bit of journaling and hoping it's something you would add to your community site as I have no idea where to begin. ❤

I’m so happy you will be getting a copy to thoroughly enjoy! Thank you for your very kind words, happy if I can share just a fraction of the joy and inspiration Fleur and others share 💙🧵🪡
Lovely to have a little look through, what a gorgeous book. I have a pack of Rumi meditation cards which I use most days. Lovely. Since starting the garage renovation, I have realized I hoard way to much and am dedicated to culling (ugh… how do i do that???) in order to not crowd out my new space too much. It’s almost as hard as downsizing a house. I feel inspired seeing the book Christine, sadly, I’m still have a way to go before I can get back to full time work with it all. The garage beings being painted today! On the home stretch now.
I look forward to seeing your new creative space in due course. I’m definitely not one to give advice on how not to collect or how to cull treasures 🤭 cheers, Christine
I am sure you will be delighted when you get your hands on this delightful book. It will be wonderful to see what people create with inspiration from this book and Fleur 💛 cheers, Christine
Thank you for sharing that with us Christine. I'm sure you'll be spending many happy hours immersing yourself in the book and gleaning inspiration from the teachings of Fleur. Enjoy!

Yes, fiber work of every kind was considered by men as 'women's work' and therefore, not worthy of mention. So much beautiful stitchery was lost to history because it was never signed and dated by the artist who considered her work as 'just' a hobby. That's why I am so adamant about women signing/dating their work, no matter how small or inconsequential it may be considered.

Oh and you most definitely are an artist and I think it is such a shame that many of us struggle to embrace that term. 💛
