Rest in peace Randall Fullmer you made some incredible Basses for the Bass community. I was shocked by your passing my condolences to your family and thank you for making me a beautiful custom, six string bass that I will cherish for the rest of my life and for those that respond on here. Respond with your opinions of hatred for less respond with love and respect for both Randall and myself as we respect you off what you contribute to the Bass community. Love you all and God bless.

Bill is a great bassist! If you ever get the opportunity, ask Victor about Bill Dickens. Enough said!

to all the percussive bass/slap haters, music is not only bout melody, it's bout rhythm and groove as well,

I'd state that the people commenting have EXACTLY an appreciation for *music*... which this is only in the loosest terms. Running scales and slapping as fast as humanly possible isn't a song or a piece of music. And yes, I realize this is NAMM and that this type of playing is not only desired but downright requested... but a line in the sand must be drawn. If you're a play known for "technique", show it within the facets of a piece of music. The irony is that you'll get more press doing so.

Bill is just showing his amazing ability. You go hear him play blues with Carlos Johnson on 4 string. Mind blowing and musical. Don't assume he is just chops.

some people would say "this aint musical" but if any of us could play like that, we'd all be slapping at 100mph 24/7

well bayani8 bill is not his taste..bill has been my favorite for years because bill steps and plays out the norm..explains his 7 and 9 string basses he plays .Ive studied and mastered bill tricks and trust me..for 1 they are most certainly not the same notes,2you will be impressed with how it sounds.to be honest i can hear every note hes playing...that right there tells you the level of that builder power person ear as a bassist if he is..how can you not hear the notes..you no why?

Alex Al as a bassist has a more complete approach than Victor. Alex is the baddest cat out there. Do the research! Victor plays a bunch of notes. He's (Victor) a beast, but Alex defines what a bassist should sound like.

he hitting different notes. He is just doing it so fast that its hard to heard the different notes. so it sounds just like muted slapping because you cant hear the difference. Thats why I like victor and marcus cuz there is a difference in their notes

Stevie Wonder sure thinks he can play. He, at the very least..deserves a bass award for that first solo run of Ramsey's "Strangers", from the Arsenio Hall show. Vic W. wrote an article on that performance years ago.

Dude, why do you keep hating on Bill Dickens? I see you on every damn video that has to do with Bill, talking about how Victor Wooten is better. Honestly dude, i LOVE Victor Wooten, he has changed the way i view and play bass; however, its just a fact that Bill is a better player TECHNICALLY. Face the reality of this situation and try and learn something from Bill Dickens, instead of going to every one of his videos and disrespecting him. Thanks!

No art in just hitting the strings as fast as you can. Who can listen to that for more than 30 seconds?
