I have a hydros pro it performs fantastic especially how it sticks to you and how comftable it is after long or mutu dives but miss not having 2 large pockets....i also own a Zeagle Halo it' has many good attributes especially large pockets that can fit many scallops...but it has 2 main faults the trim pockets come undone if you jump off a pier or go upside down and the bc is very slippery these are 2 faults the hydros range don't have ...as the hydro x is expensive I'll try before I buy to see how balanced it is and how fast it is in the water ......
The Pros are very popular among the travel crowd, it's flexibility of pockets, straps and such make it easy to conform to your dives while traveling. Regards Bob C
Would this BCD be a good one for professional diving, so working as a divemaster and possibly as an instructor later on? Im struggling to find the right bcd. Thinking about this one, or the Aqualung axium bcd. I really like the wing bcd's but dont think its to good for assisting other divers under water or having a comfortable position on the surface and i hope the axium bcd solves both these problems! Im looking forward to your reaction.
Mike, Sorry for the delayed response I've been at DEMA this past week. So, believe me the BCD you want for DM and Instructor operations is the AXIOM regular, not the I3. It's the ticket for just the situations you described. Acts like a BI underwater and a Jacket at the surface. Regards Bob C
trying to figure out whether to do wing or jacket. i currently have a jacket. are the benefits worth the learning curve of the wing? i'm a recreational diver with over 250 dives and have no intention to go tech
Based on your diving, I'd strongly suggest going with the Aqua Lung Axiom Hybrid. Overall for any recreational diver, it's my #1 choice. Yes, and I paid for mine. Thanks for your question. Bob C
Wings are common misunderstanding. So many disadvantages. I almost conisder them to be a step backward in equipement developement - sort of a stone age.
One thing I didn't seem mentioned is where the X stands in the lineup. Is it a higher or lower level model than the Pro or Glide? Is it newer or older? More or less expensive?
Nice video Bob. A very informative video...
Glad it was helpful!

I have strong feeling you will like the X, but it's not as open feeling as the Pro. Regards and thanks for the comment ... Bob C
Still love my HydrosPro for travel.

How do you think about the outside design of the weight pocket? Might it be mistakenly released during the dive?
It's ok, you'd really have to mess up to get it to release. Thanks for the question. Bob C

It's more of a also model BCD to the ScubaPro lineup...
Well X-Force is still the best.
thank you for your comment...
Just bought one - please sometimes also review gear for women - it would be so nice to not always "just" have mens gear reviewed. Thanks. :)
Working on it ! Stay Turned... Bob C
