I replaced the two small stripping guides on my MaxCatch 7' 3wt. It throws line much smoother now.
Nice. I need to do that on a couple rods myself.
What reel was that? It has a nice, classic look. I’m looking for a modestly priced click drag reel
Its a Orvis Battenkill 3/4. It is a older reel from the 90s. Made in England..it has a offset style disk drag.
Thanks! A non-disk battenkill is on my short list
Matt was just talking about looking for a 3wt.
Cool...i like fiberglass...been really impressed with moonlit rods in my 5 and 6 wt
Hello very nice video , i have maxcatch 3wt , but can't find right line for this rod.Whats the right line for this rod for you, i need to feel the load more heavy.
Thanks...you might try a double taper 3 wt or a WF4 wt on it as its fairly stiff for a 3 wt.
I was just reading amazon reviews and alot of them are using a 4wt on it so its most likely a 4wt rod in actuality more than a 3 wt.
@@diyvintagefly Which line you using in the video with ?
@@svetlifishing580 I think its the Orvis Silver Label WF 3 F
