The flatties sure love the movement of maddies. Unusual for a one-eyed fish. Some of the locals around here always have good advice for the estuary for those who need it. We have to go upriver as the current here is monstrous on the flood tide and very dangerous (second fastest incoming tide in Britain), goes from sand to mud/sand banks. Good flounder caught when the frost comes, as you well said. All the best to you and family bud and tight lines.

good job on demonstrating the flat fish hook removal- you can also use fine straight forceps. I don't agree that a deeply hooked hook will dissolve though. What you said about digging bait as the tide went out then fishing the same area as you come back with the flooding tide usually works pretty well, I've done similar on the local beach after getting rag n lug out of small rocky gravel patches I always caught a couple wrasse or huss as it went dark.

He’s a brilliant bloke isn’t he. 😊👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker yea good chap i see someone requested a bait digging video down below at the moment with the cold thats a tough job in itself the worm are so deep being cold i was digging hour and half yesterday for 65 worm i was worn out before i even got to the mark 😂 how are you finding fishing at the moment much about your way
Oh John! That little bass you picked up first, would have been my close to, PB 🤣
Haha. Congratulations 👍🏻🐟
Thank you for wearing a poppy!
We are both grateful and respectful of our armed forces in our home.
Good vid as always
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanx John
My pleasure. 😊👍🏻
Nice video John
Thank you Henry. 👍🏻
Great video as always John. Managed to do some estuary fishing myself 10 days ago, difference was it was Savannah Georgia and from a proper boat excursion and it was 80F (27C)! Needless to say we caught loads. Probably the only time this year I'll have caught more than you! Incidentally we managed to catch a crab too, a blue one that refused to let go of the bait!
Haha. Well done Leon. We are coming into a very lean period here in the U.K. for sea fishing. But as I keep saying, effort = reward.
The humble flounder is an underestimated fish, get those thick set ones on light tackle and they are great sport!
The thic ones are great sport. 😉
Hi John, Glad you caught your target species the old Flounder 😊, I recognise where you are fishing but I have never fished this marker myself. Great part of the country John its a place we visit every year. Cheers Ian .
It’s a great spot when you want a sheltered session.
Hey John! Another great video even though the bites weren't good! Happy Veterans Day Sir. Was glad that you found your knife. I would rather loose a fishing pole any day than losing a knife. A knife is something you can carry your whole lifetime. Can't wait for the next video!
I have had that one for 4 years. It’s a lot shorter then when it started but still a good one.
Another great video John...good to see you found yr knife (best catch of the sesh) lol... i used to use the disgorger that has the notch in the end, and it worked fine if you were careful...and i have seen some absolute idiots yanking at the line and just ripping the hook out ..not a care in the world for the fish...and the same with maceral...just yanking the hooks out of the fish...personally i wouldn't give these sort the time of day... so its clear you take the welfare of the fish into consideration, well done a good video showing how you should fish...all the best to you and yours...GL&HH Gordon
I was really chuffed to find that knife again. I’ve had it for years. Yes I’ve also seen some pretty horrible things when folks are trying to get a deep hook out. Hopefully this video helps to educate folks.
Again, an education for all us 'Noddies' out there!. Nice one! Nuff said!. 🙂
Hi John another great video keep up the good work. Ohh I've been using the pulley dropper rig and I love it so thanks mate. Regards Danny from Dublin Ireland. We met in Killeen, Clare on the harbour. Stay safe
Hello again Danny. Glad the rig is working for you. I’ve had some cracking fish on that one.
@@TheFishLocker John when you are fishing sandy beaches for flounder, whiting and bass what is the lightest fishing line you would use....
What you said about digging bait as the tide went out then fishing the same area as you come back with the flooding tide usually works pretty well, I've done similar on the local beach after getting rag n lug out of small rocky gravel patches I always caught a couple wrasse or huss as it went dark.
😊👍🏻🎣
Awesome again John caught 3 dinner plate sized flounder (not same as yours long toothed & short toothed look nothing like yours very good eating) used bait caster with small soft body lures white in color. Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
Well done bud. 👍🏻🎣
