I've been listening to the Ventures since my childhood . Over the years Nockie developed an inimitable technicality in guitar playing . He honed his fingerstyle playing to such a height that culminated in the superb rendition of "El Bimbo" in such a fluent, eloquent and dynamic fashion . He is the best in his genre!
Поставил себе на телефон в качестве рингтона. Класс! Ностальгия. Когда звонит телефон, и начинает играть мелодия, все почему-то считают, что это "там на тонких розовых ветвях" (песня "Соловьиная роща").
R.I.P. Nokie The Great Guitarist. ruclips.net/video/EagzyK8s9CI/видео.html *LOST FRIEND* Song dedicated to friends who leave this world. Guitar cover by *Duane Eddy*
Nokie sure beats most metal gods with his playing speed! The finger style makes him pick multiple notes a lot faster than those who use only pick. This is the ultimate way to play a classical guitar.
It depends on what you're playing. Somethings I play faster with a pick, other things I play faster using finger style. Some things I can only play with a pick, some other things I can only play using finger style. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.
I HEARD THIS SONG AS A KID IN THE MIDDLE 70S ( 1974, 1975, 1976. ). I STILL COULD REMEMBER THIS MUSIC WHEN PLAYED DURING FIESTAS DANCE OCCASION BACK HOME IN THE PHILIPPINES , THAT ONLY A FEW PEOPLE HAS THE KNOWLEDGE TO PERFORM DANCING, BECAUSE IT REQUIRES COMPLETE STEPS TO LOOK PRESENTABLE. MOSTLY DANCERS ARE BIG CITY RESIDENTS , THAT'S WHY THEY GOT MORE EXPERIENCE THAN VILLAGE FOLKS. UNLIKE DISCOS MUSIC , SIMPLE BODY SHAKES IS ENOUGH TO LOOK A COMPLETE ART OF DANCING. THOSE WERE THE DAYS IN THE YEAR 1970S.
I met Nokie in Eugene doing a benefit for a sick person, he stood and let us take snaps of us with him, and we shook hands. I was 6 when Ventures started, 7 when I had polio, 15 when I started guitar, and was 54 in 2007 when I met him. Godspeed, my friend, you are an inspiration, we Love you, your legend will live on. Thank you for your fabulous contribution to an otherwise narcissistic world. Oleander 4UR9
In 1977/8 I was lead Singer/Guitarist in the resident big band called 'The Melody Makers at 'Cayton Park Inn' near Scarborough. The band was made up from session musicians The D.J. was Derek (Rubber Duck) James, he played this tune to open up the evenings entertainment and we joined in part way through and the D.J. faded out. This fabulous tune became our signature tune.
He was the full time lead guitarist by 1963. You really should read Walk Don't Run-The Story of The Ventures. I got this amazing book on Amazon. Just super!
Best instrumental band in the world for ever. No band can replace them.

I have been a Ventures fan since 1960 and Nokie is amazing. How he can play so incredibly without any effort is beyond my reasoning.

Not a Spanish (Classical) guitar, which has nylon strings. Not Andres Segovia.
