French composers are able to compose in any style of western music, any... which in turn is not the case of oriental composers. It's important to remember that jazz itself has roots in Black African musical traditions mixed to elements of European music, including French musical elements. This influence wouldn't be directly tied to cool jazz, but it highlights the complex web of influences that shaped jazz as a whole. French music, not Afghan one !
