      I think fistweaver is not that easy when you played mistweaver before but its kinda fun when you get into it.
      Disc feels nice yeah maybe difficult but not like before and resto shaman has the „cloud totem „ what makes it a bit difficult (for me) but otherwise i would say all are nice to play and when you play a bit consistently then all healers are not that hard and you can learn it.

    I agree with the Resto Druid ranking. It seems to be the most "mis-played" healer that I've seen. It still does fairly well if you play it simply, but to play it well, not easy for a new player.

  • @DrewBoivie

    I just came back to this game after several expansions away, and I played all the healer classes to max level.
    All I can say is that there "used to" be easy healers. Now even the simpler ones use twice as many abilities to do the same things, and a huge amount of total healing is tied to cooldowns.
    All the healers have half a dozen or more important cooldowns, and they make or break you.
    And they want us to DPS now, too.

      I'm also coming back from Legion, I played monk heavily in Legion, dabbled in priest, shaman, druid. Plus lots of dps specs.
      Real life called me away for bfa and shadowlands. Came back at the start of season 2.
      So many more spells. Geez holy priest spec and class spells take up 3 full bars. I have no room for yak, pots, food! Had to make a 4th sidebar for more keybinds. I'm way too dyslexic/dyscalculiac for all this. Everyone has too much and some of it seems redundant. How many different types of aoe heals does a priest need? How many different cooldowns?
      I think either mechanics of content should be complicated or mechanics of our class, not both. I liked having a simpler play style while I could focus on the mechanics of content.

    • @DrewBoivie
      @DrewBoivie 9 месяцев назад +8

      @@calamity0.o I have a feeling this debate has probably taken place a million times in the last 10 years in WoW. I also have the 3+ bars of abilities that all feel like I should be using them regularly. I'm just not that good. To some degree (taking Shaman for example) I could just spam Healing Surge and Chain Heal and ignore everything else. I'd kinda stink, but it would suffice for some content. I could add 4 or 5 more spells to my rotation and be significantly better. I could get good at popping a few different cooldowns at the right moments. But at some point it feels like it hits big diminishing returns. Spells like Primordial Wave can only be used once or twice a minute and are only marginally better than something else you could be doing in that GCD.
      High complexity on healers (and tanks as well) makes groups very vulnerable where its not quite so dangerous to DPS. A tricky moment in a fight or mentally getting stuck figuring out which of 9 cooldown options is best for the situation can cause a wipe. Whereas DPS can simply take their foot off the gas for 5 seconds, focus purely on the encounter, and the group's total damage just dipped 0.1%...which does not generally cause a wipe.
      On the other hand, I'm sure those 800 days /played uber veteran healers who never stopped playing need every bit of challenge to stave off boredom at this point.

    I reached 3.2k io as mw last season and I'd say they are not to bad to pick up. About getting out of fealine - remember it's a buff with a time limit. So you can roll back to the faeline to get the buff then roll back to the mobs. Only spinning needs to be on top of the fealine. I'd say the difficulty is getting used to when you can depend on your kicks and when you may need to shaelone or spam tank. Overall a super fun spec and probably not as difficult to pick up then what the video perceives but then again I don't play all of the healing specs.

    • @zzz3zzz

      In raid it's easily one of the hardest specs in the game too which kinda makes it hard to pick up if you're planning on doing all content with it. I don't think it's too hard in M+ though.

    I think you ranked mistweaver pretty good. One of the difficulties of mistweaver is positioning and dealing with healing the group while forced out of melee. Mistweaver is in that regard one of the only healers (next to Resto Druid when not prehotting for flourish) that will pump out close to zero healing during your cooldown, when played wrong. Also mistweaver has an extreme trickle down effect when not keeping renewing mists out and rising sun kick on cooldown

    If you're doing easier keys like 20s or below, and you probably are if you're worried about difficulty, MW is veeeery easy. You can really ride Sheilun's to smooth over any mistake, that thing is kinda insane. It's only when you get into higher keys that you really start needing to get the most out of Chi Ji and the spec becomes difficult.

    I think press evoker(swapping off evoker this tier) is quite hard and it depends on how far you want to push it, echos in raid can be a pain as you can't heal other is you're setting up ramps. Stasis is similar and it was common to stack 3 Temporal anomalies into a stasis on mythic Sark, that means no big heals for like 30+ seconds, which can often result in deaths, not reaching melee when ranged stacked can be a pain. Long cast times for spirit bloom can often result in deaths, especially if it's a TA -> SB. Keeping uptime on Flow State for timings especially during stasis ramping is quite annoying as cooldowns tend not to align great. Meanwhile if you just click buttons you might do... Okay? It depends on what you want to do, if you just spam echos and TAs, then charge big spiritblooms in normal raids you will do great but optimizing it is really hard imo. (Coming from a retro druid main since vanilla pre DF expansion)
    Edit: swapping to MW monk as this is the tier where they might be more meta than usual plus having a monk for mythic raid is basically mandatory ;)

    As a mid-lvl healer (M+20 last season) I have found disc massively easier to take on and play than resto druid. Disc is so fluid and everything is logical with nice button presses. Druid requires more know-how and decision making and way more effort in general.
    I have only played disc and resto to that level so I cannot comment on the rest, but I'd have resto at C and disc at A from my experience.
    Just my two cents, as maybe as a pro you may not realize the difficulties normal players face :)

    Mistweaver can stay in difficult because in a regular pug group at the 18-20 range there are not so many big pulls and in that case spin to win won't work, you need to use the proper rotation. Also without range increase, you can die from frontal, trying to get close to a mob to interrupt.

  • @kovial6944

    I main resto druid and I have played every healer in 10.3 to different degrees and mostly agree with this list. Resto shammy feels like easiest tbh bc there’s so few healing buttons compared to other healers and it doesn’t keep me engaged. Holy priest is straightforward once you know what your heals do so it’s my sit back and relax healer in raids. I’d put MW monk and resto druid both at C rank. They feel equally challenging to play, require ramps, and have a good amount of button bloat (I have 36 key binds for my druid and I feel like I still need more!). Mana management in raids for druid has been a bit of a nightmare, particularly for long drawn out fights, but after adjusting the style I’ve got it mostly under control. I’m very much enjoying catweaving in M+, but swapping back and forth between forms and knowing when it’s safe to do so takes a lot of practice!

      It's almost as difficult as disc if you're min/maxing. The great part about the class is theres a few different builds that play totally different, that are all competitive. The issue is, the highest HPS build is incredibly difficult. Rampings like a disc, but you're in melee.

  • @Solar750

    Druids are a tough call here. Grove Guardians are really interesting for M+ (though still pretty inadequate in >20 keys), but the flourish nerf is brutal in raid. Maybe it'll feel better once tier and stats level out, but right now the GG raid play feel pretty inferior to S2 style Resto Play.
    Kitty weaving is hands down the hardest damage to do as a healer. It should be buffed to do sick damage if you have the skill to pull it off.

      I'm currently doing +18-19 dungeons as Resto Druid. In Raids (Heroic) I'm always topping the meters and that is with the Incarnation + Grove guardians. A little off meta, going for all 4 bottom skills to compliment the tierset and mana savings (dual lifebloom in raids + clearcasting and you save twice the mana you would have gotten from rashok's trinket. It makes it free, 30+ stronger and with the 4p you also heal other players. For Dungeons, flourish feels bad, but it is very similar to how strong it was in previous expansions. You have to rethink the skill a little and think of it as a hot-extender 'that also makes your hots 25% stronger', it can save a group (still) while you focus on spothealing. The lower cooldown makes up for it. What people don't yet fully realize is that Resto druid - right now - is INSANE, low key overpowered. Combined with our mastery (running 45% haste and ~20% mastery) we have so many combo skills that just stack on top of each other. I've only been beaten once on the meters right now, and that was done by another Resto.
      In M+ our damage with 465 gear should be a combination of catweaving a full dot cycle, and then when you have all cooldowns close to 15-20 seconds, you switch to boomkin and throw in 2-4 starfire's. You'll be hitting between 50-80k dps, and I've done higher. On difficult fights however, our damage drops drastically. Where 15-20k is on the higher side.
      We can easily finish +18 dungeons now with 30-50k overal dps, and still keep everyone alive. Our kit has never been as dynamic and combo sensitive as it ever has before. I absolutely love it.

    • @Solar750
      @Solar750 8 месяцев назад

      I'd be curious how your co-healers are parsing if you are topping the meters. I typically parse heroic content in the 70's, and our Disc priest will typically parse in the 50's. He's out HPSing me by a good 15-20k with a much lower parse. We have a Holy Paly that reliably parses in the high 80's low 90's and he just crushes on the meters (40-50k HPS ahead of me).@@douwe4254

      Have you looked at any guides? Granted I've been playing it for ages, but honestly I have always found it really intuitive. Rejuvs should be sprinkled around, lifebloom on tanks or other raiders that are taking lots of damage, wild growth before a raid-wide damage phase. Keep mushroom up at all times. Tranq and regrowth (unless you've procced clearcasting) are sort of your 'oh shit' buttons. Mouse over macros are a must.

Also cast time in balance as a healer can take alot of time, compared to cat combos and rip and trash bleeds. Catweaveing is more optimal for M+ imo. • @arttuheikkila388
    @arttuheikkila388 9 месяцев назад +3

    I think the "most difficult" parts of generic prevoker gameplay are the risky moments linked to your big heals. You literally have two big aoe buttons, spiritbloom and dream breath and both have a LONG cast time. When you use those to heal your group, the group members can get into risky close to death situations while you are loading up that spiritbloom. Also the inability to just throw a single heal to someone who needs it while you are ramping/prepping with echos for the whole group is something that adds a layer of difficulty to the class. Obviously learning how to use statis, emerald communion, verdant embrace+lifebind and generic echo preps are things one must spend some time researching and practicing through trial and error. And remember to shout to your ranged dps's to not fucking stand 40 yards away and behind you.
    My comment on resto druid difficulty is that the healing itself on it is super easy. The only hard part is mastering the dps (in m+). Weaving all the dots, cat stuff and still be properly prepped to deal with incoming to damage to heal through it.
    I played prevoker, resto shaman and mistweaver last season. This season I'm going to go with two healers, mistweaver and disc. I'm really comfortable with mistweaver, but I haven't really played since priest since shadowlands so there will be an adjusting period for me on that one.

    It's funny, I find proactive healers easier to play. There is the initial investment of learning boss mechanics, but I feel more in-control as a proactive healer. Reactive healing makes me anxious for some reason. Been swapping between disc and resto most of the time, and they feel comfy to me in a way the "easy healer" holy never has.

    I'd personally put Prevoker mid B tier. It does need some knowledge in stasis and how things work together, but its easy enough to pick up and their rotation feels comfortable and easy to play quite quickly (from my personal experience anyway), hardest thing about them is for sure the range limitations. I'd agree with the rest as a cross-the-board R&M+ list though. I play all healers but am currently maining Mistweaver and it has similar workings to disc (and partially with rdrood) with having to know the synergy between abilities and knowing when to ramp up/counter abilities with it being proactive, so I'd prob put it in difficult too due to that. It's not something you could just pick up and get straight away like you could with the more reactive healers like hpriest or rsham. I'm looking forward to seeing how this season goes for healers.

They nuked flourish to make room for it so instead of a strong cd, we got a bunch of weaker things to keep track of. I like the change but a bunch of small heals is harder to play around than one big one in my opinion.

    • @Evija3000
      @Evija3000 9 месяцев назад

      Agreed. Keeping track of the guardians (always trying to have at least one up to not waste them, keeping track of how many I have available, summoning them at the right times to optimise the auto wild growth cast) is taking up a a much bigger part of my brainpower than one flourish every minute and a half. And we still have the flourish and it's on reduced cd. I'm just ending up macro-ing some of the cds together to simplify it. Even if the guardians can be helpful I wouldn't say they make playing Resto Druid easier. But I also haven't played with the full tier set yet.

Given, I have been playing it for most of my wow career, but even with the button bloat of like shadowlands I still found it easy enough to play and fun to try and optimize. I have recently picked up disc priest and thats been one hell of a ride! I'd say in mythics druid is defo easier than disc. I don't like catweaving at all. If I want to play as a cat, I will play feral. Although catweaving got massive buffs, starfire and wrath also got buffs so I am curious to see how the overall dps varies between just catweaving and just using boomkin spells. I think Resto druid is a lot easier than Holy Pally. A huge part of what makes Paladin so powerful is how much utility it has (more buttons to press).
    The range limits on Prevoker by itself make it one of the hardest healers to play in PUGs.
    I think MW Monk is the most difficult because of needing to constantly stay in melee and do dps and it has so many different buttons and interactions with each other.
    Disc Priest is simpler now, but you still need to do healing through dps. I think if you are a new healer, it is much more difficult to play a heal through dps style. When health bars get low, it's so hard to catch up and you need to keep swapping targets.

    Honesty it is a bad joke that the dps of the healer is a very important feature. The designers should reduce greatly their damage in dungeon and raid, so they can choose freely their talents and playing styles, OR they should be designed that way they can dps with heal, not with the opposite way. One of the most reactive, fun and easy to play healer is the mistweaver using it as a traditional healer, not as a fistweaver.

Beeing in melee is only really a Problem with certain affixes. But those affixes hurt hard casting healers too.
    Only healer in my opinion who is loveably easy is resto Druid. Played it as second/third healer for two seasons and even compared to hpriest it is Kind of a joke. you can permanently move with nearly no downsides. Yes, you need some Kind of ramp but who cares? There is nothing that keeps you from doing that. You got good dmg and partially even passive with dots. Buffs, cr, ultra Mobility, good externals etc. Not depending on raid or m+. You can even fail a mechanic on highkeys and still survive.
    Hpriest is mechanically very easy and clearly the easiest in that Point. But in 22+ you need pitch perfect movement because nearly everything is wrecking you. You got no real externals and the grp burst healing is pretty low, compared to Others and you have to hard cast a lot.
    In my opinion this should be considered and i wouldnt requests a hpriest for beginners because all this points can be very disappointing.
