NATSUMI CD (なつみCD): A なつみSTEP! fan game - Development Preview

Based on an obscure Japanese Flash animation from the early 2000s known as なつみSTEP!, Natsumi CD (なつみCD) is a freeware Sonic clone where most of the combat involves returning enemy projectiles to their sender.
This is a development preview from yours truly, Cobalt The Hedgehog! This is a test stage showing that what the game has to offer for now.

I was also aiming to blend in the eastern cute kids show aesthetic with the Sonic CD style too. An style experiment that i'm trying to do

Really a huge fan of how this project looks! I absolutely love Natsumi Step, so this project already appeals to me... I also really like how responsive and smooth the combat and movement feels just from looking at it, it definitely feels like there's a lot of depth to her different mechanics and I really like that!

Thanks. The combat itself would involve more on deflecting projectiles to their sender outside of just simple melee combat. I originally wanted the game to be more freedom planet like in terms of combat, but after witnessing a video where Natsumi deflects shots from a four legged tank, I feel like making the combat a bit more unique than just Hack n' Slash combos.
