Truly cannot believe they tore up the Norfolk and Western, just so they can have their own "little Monon trail"in Fishers

It is R.I.P. because the beautiful Fishers Station has been demolished to make way for money making apartments and it looks like the Nickel Plate Historical Railroad will soon be ripped out between Noblesville and Indianapolis because of a similar crooked political back room deal between the same developer that built those apartments and the Mayors of Fishers and Noblesville...
CONGRATS and shame on you you low life despicable political hacks that have put your own interests ahead of what people all around the country want and need to bring in money and tourists to this area of Indiana...

Ken Davenport there is actually still hope. The county is now on our side thanks to public pressure. Stay tuned.

@asteinmann the tracks from just south of the IN-19 bridge south to the Fairgrounds has been ripped up and the ITM dissolved. Although not all is lost: a new entity, the Nickel Plate Express, operates from the Forest Park yard north to Atlanta using four hi-level Santa Fe coaches, a 44-ton switcher, NKP 426 and a newcomer to Forest Park: a former Erie Mining Company F9 numbered 4214. The 83A and the 200 are still at the park but in deplorable condition.

Edit: as of 2024 83A Had Sat For So Long It Was Ripped Apart By Vandalist and 200 is restored and operational

ITMZ must have something to do with the Indiana Transportation Museum, and I'm guessing that train is running on the old Monon Line.

It runs on the former NYC&StL ( Nickel Plate ).

ITMZ is the FRA required reporting marks for a non-railroad revenue entity and actually they are running on the Old Nickel Plate Michigan City Division...

Maximum authorized speed is 30, but the speed didn't exceed 20 by much for most of the trip. Was it to make the trip longer, or were there slow orders because of track condition?
