Never seen a bushing do that and I've been reparing excavators for about 10 years. Like you said, seems like someone took the wrong material for the job. Nice work as always!
I can't decide if I think the spacer is a good idea or a bad idea, it is a lot easier to just bore straight through one, but I kind of like the idea of a positive stop shoulder in there.
That is a beast of a machine, the torque on that arm must be something insane.
very cool process and result.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks 👍

Thanks for sharing, that was definitely a new one on me, I've seen the powdered metal ones do that but never an actual steel one.
My John Deere 892ELC has the spacer as well. Ive never seen it either. Awesome video!!!

Thank you
Like your stuff , just one thing . I couldn't hear you over the noise while boring . Maybe use a clip on microphone .
My apologies, we are working on that.
Ask them if the pin broke. If it does in the middle it can wallow before you realize it broke.
The pin was intact, but very worn.
Did you know Hitachi & JD are the same as far as in the excavator? Where I work we have a JD850D
Yep, you never know which name will be on the box when you get parts.
Mmmm bacon.
It is nice to just do a straight forward job without it being a total mess every once in a while 🙂
Nice post, I keep waiting for your videos, where is ur son?
He has been fighting a cold bug, he hasn't been able to get out with me in a couple of weeks.
@@perpetualmotion1 Don't worry, he will get well soon, sending him positive energy.
yep seen it a few times also Hitachi pins are soft as shit
That was a new one on me, it's got to be some pretty mushy stuff to coin out that bad.
@@perpetualmotion1 on some pins and bushes you can order a heavy duty pin from Hitachi
