You inspired me to get back into fishing after having not been in 15 years. I used to go with my dad. But after he died it just didn't feel the same to go without him. I actually discovered your channel through watching your pond videos as I built my own pond too. Then as I started watching your fishing videos it got me wanting to do it more and more. Now I'm back fishing and loving it. Fishing the same lake that my dad and I used to fish and even still using some of his old tackle. It's like he's right there with me. And it's all thanks to you that I got back into it.
Think you should definitely give the park lake a go . 5hrs driving to the mystery lake and we all know what the M25 can be like 🤦♂️ . Park lake gives you more opportunities to get content of the fishing, even if your not catching. Think we can all admit we just love watching you . Whatever you decide to do I'll be ready for the uploads 👍
All good things eventually have to come to an end, it's hard, but the joy of starting something new makes it worthwhile! 🎣 ..Roll on the park lake I say 😁
you know carl you have helped me the most this year i’ve gone from my pb being 7lb to now 13lb and i’m confident fishing the bigger lakes now all because of your help. thank you mate
Hi Carl a suggestion for a new place to fish. This year I went to Italy for a week on a small family holiday. The place I stayed was the south east side of lake Garda. This enormous lake was in an episode of river monsters. I went there with a single spinning rod a hook and some weights not expecting to really catch anything. How I was mistaken! We fished there for a few hours for 3 nights and I pulled some stunning Prussian carp. Not only this but the whole time I saw schools of 30lb+ carp swimming everywhere. This place was virtually unfished. Not only are there plenty of great carp to have but it is also known for holding many other species of fish such as catfish and small mouth bass. Don’t know if this is useful. Keep up the great work! Tight lines.
Ive been watching your videos for a long time now, i said it before and ill say it again there is nobody else out there that can make videos like you. The way you build your videos, the talk over, the editing the clarity of the filming and images is always top notch, not forgetting the skill required to produce videos like this is Just unbelievable. You really do put all the big companys to shame and i MEAN that. This is the difference between pure passion and love for the sport compared to marketing and business and the finished product clearly shows that.
Top top quality yet again! Thanks Carl! Absolutely loved the camera work from the underwater, of the rolling clouds and of course amazing locations! The mystery lake looks majestic! Looking forward to the next upload! Thanks again
I've carp fished the mystery lake a couple of times, and it is stunning, but you did what you went to achieve, task completed. Move on man, keep doing what you're doing.....finding new adventures. Love that you keep Sundays together. Fair Play. #parklake
ultimately it matters not how far you travel to do the things you enjoy and help you relax, the key is to make sure we all do it. Spending time outside with family , friends and nature for company is so pure. Thank you Carl , keep capturing those moments.
First off I immensely enjoyed this video. Every fish is a good fish, no matter how big it is. It's nice to have a chill & talk session like this. Having spent an immeasurable amount of time chasing the unknowns of the toughest waters I'd tell you never give up on mystery lake, but limit the amount you visit it to something more manageable. Something like 2-3 consecutive days once every 1-2 months. That way you have time to properly observe the water and conditions for a period of time where they will be changing. Don't be afraid to draw yourself rough diagrams, they help a lot over time too. If there's 1 fish in it, there's more. They are in there I promise you. I also recommend keeping a log of the conditions, like every single thing you can see, feel, tides, moon phase, wind, humidity, rain, clouds, water temp & color, how the water moves, how the fish move. I mean everything! A good log gets more valuable as years passes. Not only for the spots you make them in, but as you travel around. The longer you keep logs the more likely you're going to notice patterns and behaviors you wouldn't have seen otherwise.
As much as the mystery lake is such a mega water! I think sometimes a new adventure is needed. Re light the fire! The new park lake looks like that could be the potential for a new campaign, and your camping videos are so good! Sometimes you’ve got to walk away with your head held high. All the best Carl. Great video as a always
I have followed you and your brother for years now. I love the content you made together and I love the content you make now you have gone your seperate ways. Legends the pair of you. Your parents are right too. Life is too short and though you love doing what you do there is so much more to life. Spending time with family is most important. Spend as much time as you can with them. Keep it up.
After all those hours on mystery lake I would move to the next page of your book. Keep doing the Sunday with your miss, it gives you a clear head for next session. Carl your an amazing fisher and what ever you will decide, your viewers support it either way. Good luck on your decision. Greetings from the Netherlands
theres a few tough but nice carp lakes near Wolverhampton some lakes have up to roundabouts of 40-60 depending where you go they are tough but are fun when u do catch
It is the true meaning of happy. Love what you do and if it becomes a chore change it. We love your content so do what you do best and film your passion. You and Omi fishing is also great content!
After fishing MANY hours for carp for 20+ years, I realized that there is such a thing as burnout. It's not one session, one campaign, but if you keep doing highly frustrating things with very occasional rewards, it just chips at you, little by little. So far, your passion clearly remains strong and steady, largely thanks to your youth and determination and talent, but its foundations might be shaking a bit without you knowing. It's important to manage and feed the passion with enough rewards. You cracked Mystery Lake, it is a MASSIVE achievement. I think you should move on now, go to the next step of your journey and rejuvenate yourself... My 2 cents.
Carl, the narrative and edit on this video is just so good. All of the different story lines we are walking through has so much potential to be bitty and messy but it's underpinned so well by your day at the little pond. As for turning a new leaf or pushing on, I think you know in your heart and head already. Follow that and either way we will be very happy to watch!
Mystery lake was an incredible experience to watch . Deep down you know that there are more rewards to be had . And myself and many others will be here to watch you reap them , if you choose to continue, i enjoy all your vids like many others. Even the spray bashing . Big ups Carl . Keep doing you.
19:20 The editing flare is getting better and better :) It was already documentary quality shots and format, but now the emotion/passion is really showing. Keep it up!
I watch your vids to see the adventure/story more than the catches! So even if you spectacularly blank, I love seeing the work and effort you put into the venues and the story that goes with it
hey Carl! I'm a new, young fisherman and wanted to thank you for getting me into fishing! I've watched a few uk fishing channels but nothing compares to your channel. the editing, content, scenery is the best I've seen. I'm planning to start a fishing channel aswell inspired by yours! thank you Carl
Nice one, Carl more amazing films 🎥 as always you go to so many beautiful places, and I love watching you catch some amazing carp. I think you should go for it, Carl, on the mystery lake and you could catch a monster carp from the lake and it's so peaceful and beautiful which I know you love 🎣🎣🎣 thanks Carl 😁👌👍🎣
This is the best angling video I’ve seen for years, the biggest compliment I can pay is likening this to modern day Passion for Angling, brilliant young man.
This is deffo what i needed to chill after a long day of moving home. Cracking little video with some teasers of what's to come and I would give the park lake a go if I was you.
Your video this weekend has cheered me up after a horrible week and has put a smile on face. Good on you Carl keep up the excellent work that you put into your videos. Give the new venue a crack im sure it will be goid
Every time I watch your Carl fishing vids it helps me remember the only time I went fishing and blanked but ur vids remind me that I’m not the only one
I know the mystery lake will always leave you wondering what if and may leave you with ifs and buts, however... where theres doubts and concerns there's also the probability of the same old thing happening. You got 2 fish, which maybe no one else or very few have ever got so to succeed where failure is very possible is your moment in time. The park lake has to be your new go to now, and with so many possibilities open to you there, i for one will look forward to watching you open up the lake and show us it's treasures. Happy fishing...
I follow a few people and stay with them when they are real or stick with what they do. I like the "real" nature of your videos. Does that make sense? The quality and the storytelling are excellent as people get to know who you are through your range of adventures. I'd love to see more of your koi sometime.
Great video yet again on the channel you got me to get back into fishing and try new things out i only ever did pole and had never caught a carp now in the last 8 months I've caught my first carp of every type learned a lot hit a pb of double figures and off to fish a specimen lake with 30lbs carp and 50 lbs sturgeon. fishing is my happy place i can get away from everything I don't even have to catch but I'm happy and you're one of three people i can thank for that. i also work in a place where many people come who are stuck doing the same thing and i will always offer the fishing experience to them so i have spare kit and take a new person every time to fish and teach about what ive learned. were up to 8 people now and they have all caught at least 1 carp each.
Just finished a great session of mine down the local pond to find this video. As always top tier quality content. I personally would like to you catching some fish so I would say the park lake but, it would also be nice to see you persevere with the mystery lake as I can relate to the not knowing what fish there are in a lake (just recently found that a water I’ve been fishing a while had an unknown 50lber in it). And you never know you might uncover an absurd beast that lives within it. It’s up to you Carl but seeing you fail on the mystery lake and persevere shows the human in you and determination and realism which is very refreshing to see. Tight lines.
With 2 solid fish out of the mystery lake and no guarantee that there are any more fish even in there I would say give the new park lake a go. A new lake is always exciting and you know there are Fish in there to catch. A great video as always Carl, keep up the great work 😊
Looking forward to your Dutch adventure. I am Dutch, and when I was young (35 years ago..) I was reading these stories about large carp in England and wanting to go there. And now it seems everyone wants to catch Large Perch, Carp, Zander and Pike in the Netherlands. I think I missed out. As far as the Mystery lake is concerned, I would give it up as it sounds like a bit boring and a waste of time. But that is just me.
Another excellent video with a insight to your fishing and home life. Plus with all your silly mistakes and losses. Keep it up and carry on doing what your doing pal.
As a spanish carpfhising angler sometimes getting obsessed with one spot where u know the fishing is really dificult and u are struggeling catching fish the best option sometimes is to just explore and fish new waters to just have fun and forgive about that place u know that could hold a monster just to relax ur mind and maybe give u a different point of view of what maybe u didnt try in that difilcult spot as far as i can say thats what helped me when the fishing slows down u just complain on what are u doing wrong or if its any other fish that u did not already catch. As always great video and ill be here waiting for ur next upload
Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. I can imagine it's hard to keep regular content all the time, but the quality of yours is top tier! Keep up the amazing work Carl!
I think the mystery lake has become your unicorn, you hope to catch a mythical giant carp from a water with no guarantee one exists. Far better to say you’ve given it a go and have some quality time on the park lake which you know for a fact holds carp, and from the underwater footage a host of other species. Give the park lake a few sessions and I think you’ll break your mystery lake fixation. Above all please keep making wonderful videos that bring us all so much joy.
Your filming and editing is second to none. It's the chefs kiss. So here is a comment to wake up the RUclips algorithm, cause you deserve a lot more subscribers. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for all you do!
Nice video Carl 👍👍 forget the carp get on a pike campaign over the winter would luv to see this happen, see if you can get friends to bait the 2 carp lakes up for you prior to visits, then do week sessions as and when you can 👍👍 all the best to you all 😊 keep the videos coming 👌
My advice is that time is precious. 10hr+ round trip is a real stretch. I'd focus on the more local water and do occasional visits to the mystery lake when and if time allows. Important factor is also that you know there are fish in the closer water too. Plus we might get more regular uploads if you're not spending so much time travelling 😂
Me personally I love the challenge and the mystery lake looks amazing, you have unlocked it by catching and I think there is more yo be had stick with it you will unlock it again. You inspire so many anglers to do what they love.
you have inspired me to get into fishing and help me perservier in my fishing even when im blanking and not carching watching your vids after a fishing trip is pushing me to alter and change my techneiche in order to catch and perservier with my fishing thank you legend💪
Sometimes it not what you catch but just the fun of catching. This year my favourite thing has been trotting a float on the rivers. When you are obsessed with fishing like we are I know I would spend days at the mystery lake because you just never know but I would definitely try a completely different bait because of what you showed on the underwater film. Omi is a brilliant person
This video actually reminded me to mail my license application! I haven't been in a while so this is really getting my hyped to get back into it! Well done
I love your videos so much carl I just started off like you when I was 15 and had no idea how to fish I started with a 10 ft float road which my mum got me and had no idea how to set it up I watched loads of videos and kinda got it but when I went down the canal for my first time fishing it I just got knoted snaged and stuck in many trees 😅 until someone very special down the canal saved my life and helped me this was back in 2022 feburay or march time can't even remember now as it was so long ago 😂 and ever since that day me and him have basically become brothers and me and him have been on tuns of adventures over the last year and it's been great him teaching me how to fish, and today I went back to the same spot it all stared back in 2022 and i caught a 5 pound perch the exact same perch I caught in 2022 in the exact same spot I cryed. You carl by the way are a big inspiration for me and I have watched all your videos and channels and subscribed and liked them all big love to you ❤❤❤
Yeah! Very lucky to have this stretch nearby. Sussex rivers are mostly not that good for free-lining, but this one has some really good stretches for it :)
Nothing wrong with a new spot. It’s the memories we have at those spots that make them special. Just think of it as a new pond to make new memories at.
In the past I have loved the park lake campaign videos or maybe a quest for a monster catfish video similar to the one you did 8 years ago. Wow how far you have come Carl keep up the good work 🎉👍👊
You've caught some beauties out of the mystery lake, it's time for Park lake! Plus... You can have a new series in the future where you go back to the mystery lake! Result!
Great to see what your up to carl and your videos are always an awesome watch!! Id say give the park lake ago, looking falward to your next upload already, thanks !!👍🎣
You'll alwaye have a little place in your mind for the Mystery Lake. Like one of those old friends you don't see for a few years, but when you do it feels like it was yesterday.
I would love to see a fishing video with you and Alex again because I can remember watching Carl and Alex fishing and that’s what started my obsession with fishing my favourite fishing location was when you both went to the flooded quarry love the vids mate 🎣
Carl, all I'm gonna say is that your the biggest inspiration and the most greatest person & angler of course I know. Keep up the great work, and do what you love. And if I had to chose which lake to do, it'd be a hard choice but I'd do the park lake, we all know what driving can do to people, and it's just not worth the risks of loosing anyone, stay safe and of course, tight lines!!
Another top video never disappoints! I would say carry on with the mystery lakes there’s always a mystery big fish in the depths! Also the thrill of catching a massive carp that no one’s caught before has to be massive drive 👏🙌
Honestly the best content out there! Anything you feel like sharing with us will be amazing so do what you want homie! I'll be here waiting on the next adventure. Stay safe!
Amazing video as per Carl! Maybe it is time to turn the page to a new chapter, a new challenge awaits. You're right tho, catching any type of fish is always a reminder for all of us why we all love angling! hope you are all keeping well!
Currently In sicily on holiday having hoped to be catching amberjack dentex cuda and bream but after blanking for the last week and terrible weather conditions I wanted to give up but this is keeping me motivated. Best fishing channel out there bro keep posting I've been watching since the start n have been hooked ever since
Hi carl, even if you do or don’t see this, i love watching your videos and can’t wait to get back from school to watch them, you inspired me to start fishing, keep up the amazing work!

Thanks for the comment Carl. I think it's amazing you can be closer to your dad now. Much love
I'm laying in hospital right now this has cheered me up and cured my boredom thanks Carl keep it up You're a legend 💪

Thank you mate :) yep, that is definitely seeming like the wisest move!

Cheers Glenn, appreciate that :)
You guys are amazing.I always watch your videos and I've learned so much about fishing.I love you.
Thank you mate, happy the films have helped you learn more :)
Carl you are the reason i got into carp fishing and im thankful for that
Carl ,that was awesome that you caught a carp ,from a moat ,at a wedding!
Great job so exited to finally watch this campaign again❤
Park lake. Closer, more time fishing, more content 👌👌👌🎣🎣🎣
Such a wonderful relaxing channel, you deserve all of your successes, thank you Carl 👍
Ahh that's kind. Glad you enjoy it, thank you mate. :) 👍
Big pike in that park lake
My advice is that time is precious. 10hr+ round trip is a real stretch. I'd focus on the more local water and do occasional visits to the mystery lake when and if time allows. Important factor is also that you know there are fish in the closer water too. Plus we might get more regular uploads if you're not spending so much time travelling 😂
True 😂
Yes agree, love that about it too, you never know! She is :) ❤
Hi carl u are my favourite content creator ur got me into fishing and ur such a great person
Ahh happy to hear this, thank you mate :) all the best with your fishing!!
This video actually reminded me to mail my license application! I haven't been in a while so this is really getting my hyped to get back into it! Well done
Glad to hear it!
Id be more than happy to watch a two hour video of a week at the mystery lake 😎 🎣
That's cool to hear :) Hopefully I'll be able to go back there one day
I love your videos so much carl I just started off like you when I was 15 and had no idea how to fish I started with a 10 ft float road which my mum got me and had no idea how to set it up I watched loads of videos and kinda got it but when I went down the canal for my first time fishing it I just got knoted snaged and stuck in many trees 😅 until someone very special down the canal saved my life and helped me this was back in 2022 feburay or march time can't even remember now as it was so long ago 😂 and ever since that day me and him have basically become brothers and me and him have been on tuns of adventures over the last year and it's been great him teaching me how to fish, and today I went back to the same spot it all stared back in 2022 and i caught a 5 pound perch the exact same perch I caught in 2022 in the exact same spot I cryed.
You carl by the way are a big inspiration for me and I have watched all your videos and channels and subscribed and liked them all big love to you ❤❤❤
I’d love to see more river carp fishing, something about catching those wild fish is so exciting. Thanks mate.
Yesss, river carping in Holland will be out in Oct! Definitely need to do some more on my local though this Autumn!! :) 👍
@@fishwithcarl did you really catch those amazing carp from your local river on free lined bread?
Yeah! Very lucky to have this stretch nearby. Sussex rivers are mostly not that good for free-lining, but this one has some really good stretches for it :)
Nothing wrong with a new spot. It’s the memories we have at those spots that make them special. Just think of it as a new pond to make new memories at.
Definitely :)
In the past I have loved the park lake campaign videos or maybe a quest for a monster catfish video similar to the one you did 8 years ago. Wow how far you have come Carl keep up the good work 🎉👍👊
