Great vid, all the info you would ever want for the Idris, thanks for the time and effort into putting this together!! You should put together a vid on capturing one? ;)
Thanks, much appreciated! I'm definitely down to make a tutorial on how to capture an Idris, so make sure to subscribe for when that video comes out! I'll try to schedule it for the coming weeks 🍻
FYI, nobody is able to purchase the Idris-M anymore. You can only buy the Idris-P and the upgrade to the Idris-K when they go on sale. Unless you buy the Legatus pack for $48,000.00 - that is the only way you can get the Idris-M. But great video nonetheless! Love seeing videos about the Idris.
Correct! That's why I used the $1,500 price as the example - that's how much an Idris-P costs (non-warbond) as it's the cheapest store credit Idris one can buy; The "K" doesn't come close to the "M"s brawling output, due to the lack of the Twin Size 7 frontal mount (which really pushes the DPS in its favor, with insane per-shot stopping power); The 'doomsday lazor' will also have big drawbacks (shields have to be off to charge, according to rumors). But yeah, the Idris in all its variants will be a really REALLY great ship and I cannot wait to see people get theirs finally in-game. Cheers! 🍻
Let yourself be... surprised. I'm hearing things and I'm digging further for confirmation before putting them out there. Things involving Javelins and Idrisses and their respective readiness for release
@@eigos What are you talking about "you're hearing things"?! CIG was very clear. The Idris releases in the PU at the same time when SQ42 releases. So anytime from now to the end of 2025 and the Javelin, which i own, will release after that.
I think these big ships will easily find their balance with the fact that getting a crew big enough to run it proper, A.I./NPC's included, is going to be a pain, and once all other caps are in they will have their proper fights. as it is now, really a very coordinated groups can destroy it with far smaller craft, especially dedicated anticap ships.
I sincerely hope there's a way to restock the main gun and torpedos from the cargo bays of the Idris; I can't see a use for a massive destroyer's main gun that goes dry after 18 shots. Not in a vessel that's meant to perform long patrols and defeat near-peer opponents.
Those 18 shots were a stopgap measure just for the XenoThreat event, so as to avoid a scenario where players demolish enemy Idrisses in a single fight; We had to restock, if we wanted to continue using the main gun. In other words - when the ship makes its official release, the balance would have changed and I assume it's getting 40-ish shots, as was planned;
