We need to see the reality that music is an art that is so dynamic and is able to change. Music has many genres, do not condemn those who cannot understand you, JUST ENJOY WHAT YOU WANT EVEN OTHERS DO NOT LIKE IT AS IT IS NOT PUTTING YOU AND THEM IN DANGER.
I totally agree, infact there is a live version for 8 cellist. It is a problem of theatre more than musical, for me in order to work (on stage, 'cos it's perfectly fine on cd) the cello soloist must be in a coreography, the fact that he is playing with himself must have sense from a theatrical point of view.
@JackBlair2 if you believe lesser intelligence means crappier taste then that is a biased implication....yes on average dumb people like dumb downed music...that's like believing all stereotypes are true, there's a bit of truth in it, but to apply it to a whole race is ignorant.....plus we aren't debating 2 radically different genres, we are talking about classical vs modern classical....music evolves, an example of classical musicians ahead of their time is alkan allegro barbaro, and bartok!
incredible performance.. this piece sounds so difficult. your playing is agile and urgent. excellent!!
he looks like a legend, and its for cello and tape or ensemble as far as i know so its completely fine
My fav version of this song

He looks a bit stupid playing on his own - i would much prefer there to be loads of live performers, to be honest. Still a good performance though.
Ahaha, funny. Sadly it's not one the finest pieces he has written... try Daniel Variations instead. That's ie reeeealy more convincing!
