The more time that passes since his routines, the more I'm convinced he was was a time traveler. He was so far ahead of culture and society, it's damn near omniscience.

Actually his comedy never got darker, it stayed the same. Check out all of it that you can find. He didn't change or become more outspoken. As time passed his audience had more money and also broadcasters were less wary of opinions that were skewed in one direction.

I saw his shows on HBO during the 1980's and have learned a great deal from this man. At first he may appear as a cynical old crusty fuck( which Carlin embraced many times. lol) But if you read between the lines, he was a man that sought truth much like Socrates. he had passion and most importantly he had an unwavering sense of love toward his audiences members. He knew, just like anybody else, that life is very difficult and he was unapologetic about it. He was a teacher of critical thinking skills. That's why I call him tough love George Carlin.

Theologians everywhere do agree that the Ten really can be summarized into Two, but not that way that he did it. The Two are: love God and love your fellow man.
No one observed and dissected everyday occurances with as much wit as Mr. Carlin. It is OK not to like his brand of humor, but to say that he was angry, pessimistic, or anything other than funny is false.
