WINDBREAKS I The Soldiers in Farm Boundaries

Farmers are facing recurring problem of crop damages by heavy wind particularly in banana crop in western zone of Tamil Nadu. To address this problem, ICFRE-IFGTB has developed and released five new varieties in Casuarina specifically suitable for Windbreaks. These windbreak clones have vigorous growth and also excellent branching traits. Besides protecting the agricultural crops from wind damages, these windbreak clones increase water use efficiency and also agricultural productivity. This documentary film is narrating the multiple benefits, superiority of IFGTB windbreak clones, experiences of beneficiaries, etc.
