  • Filipino Pork Skewers on a Weber Performer grill. A recipe from my childhood that's a great combination of sweetness and spice all together on pork.
    Marinade:
    1 cup banana ketchup
    1 cup 7up or Sprite
    1 cup soy sauce
    1/2 cup vinegar
    1/4 cup oyster sauce
2 T chili oil with black bean
    2 T black pepper
    1 cup chopped garlic
    1 cup brown sugar
    Glaze:
    1/4 cup banana ketchup
    1/8 cup oyster sauce
    1 1/2 T sesame oil

Good video. I grew up with people from the Philippines and the mom, Mimi, was a fantastic cook--and we always ate lots of rice. I really need to learn to cook like she did. But here is my request: Can you do a video about making fried chicken just like Jollibee? You know something like "Here is the secret to spices that Jollibee uses." I get it when I'm in Chicago or Maui but no such luck at home.

Ang sarap talaga! Love the videos! Between you, me, and Elder Matt Taylor... we all have RUclips channels. But Matt is destroying us in subscribers. I say we push this RUclips thing hard until we have more than him! Keep up the great work and miss na miss kita!

Nice video! Gonna make these this weekend following along. I ate something like this just about every day during my trip to Mindanao in 2010 but I haven't been able to recreate the same flavor yet. Maybe the type of coals are important?
