When I was in the Navy way back in the 1980s, the number ONE port call for all the sailors was Subic Bay…. Among the many delights of Olongapo, was strolling down Magsaysay Blvd. enjoying the energy, sounds and aromas… One of the most enticing, were the small barbecues scattered along the street, barbecuing all sorts of different things on bamboo skewers… Nothing better on a hot steamy Filipino day then an ice cold San Miguel with barbecued anything… Thanks for bringing back the memories :-)🤙🏽👊🏽🤘🏽

Back in 2016, I saw your video about Filipino food. That was my first ever video watching of any food journey/food outside of my country. It was your videos that got me excited and educated about the variety of foods all over the world and I decided to visit the Philippines to eat all the good food. Finally on September 20, 2022, I landed on the Philippines and I spent 1 month there. I was mostly in Bacolod but also visited Cebu (only because of the carcar lechon) and Manila. I like to call myself a foodie and I had so much fun eating all the things Philippines has to offer only to realize 30 days wasn't nearly enough and I'll go back again to eat more food. All the food I ate there I experienced for the first time in my life and we all can guess it, all of them were "Sarap".
I'd like to thank you for making all the food videos all these years which planted the idea in my head to visit Philippines. You came to Bacolod just after a few weeks of my deperture. I just wish I was still there when you came so I could try to meet you somehow (oh yeah, the nice people of Bacolod notified me when you visited there. We got all the updates from The Bacolod Food Hunters). Anyway, thank you again for making the videos and inspiring people like us.

Philippine food is amazing. Inasal is probably tied with lechon baboy (roast pig) as my two favorites. The spicy coconut vinegar mixed with soy sauce and onion/garlic/peppers is a wonderful way to contrast the oily foods. Filipino garlic rice is fantastic and grilled milkfish is one of the worlds best kept secrets. Great show Mark!

I must say Mark that I respect your dedication to doing what you love to do on RUclips and making this your full-time living. Who would've ever thought in their right mind that creating a foodie RUclips channel and traveling to different countries to make RUclips food videos would go from a side hustle to a full-time living and RUclips millionaire status? You're amazing, Mark. Keep up the great energy in your videos. I love it. I love it. And I love it when a plan comes together "Hannibal Smith - A-Team." Keep going, Mark. Our foods are so wonderfully diverse that there's no single center like with monocultural countries. instead we have numerous regional food centers. just like Japan with all of its regional specialities. no two regions cuisine's are the same. that's the best thing with Filipino food. :)
