  • Looking for a new cooler?...look no further! This 77 quart cooler is a larger version of the LifeTime cooler we bought last year and reviewed here on our RUclips channel. Having both sizes is a win/win in our opinion...link to our review of the 55 Quart version - • Product Review: LifeT...

    Thank you for the tip of storing them un-latched

    I had my 77 fall off the back of my truck after unloading a dirt bike off-road and drove off with the tailgate down … when I came back to the spot after noticing the cooler was tipped over and didn’t leak any water out at all so the new gasket is pretty good

      Awesome to hear that - thanks for adding this to the comments!

    Since we full time in our Airstream 25fb I decided to get a small 28qt Dometic compressor driven portable to store our beverages. We keep it on the couch near the TV and when towing move it into the bedroom between the twin beds. It runs on A/C and 12v so we can use it when dry camping. We can also move it to the truck for long day trips. I just got tired of buying ice. Our last cooler was a Yeti-like, Orca. It worked better than previous coolers but ice retention wasn’t as long as advertised, especially in hot/humid. The bag ice never lasts long. Back in the days there was a lot more block ice available and Dad would break a block in half or quarters to allow food to fit.

      I would never spend $300 or more for a cooler regardless of how long the ice claim is. I like your idea of the powered cooler though...that would be worth the extra dollars. I like these Lifetime coolers because they do hold ice longer than normal coolers and they are still relatively inexpensive comparatively. Thanks for watching!

    Lids on 77qt curl up on front outside corners to the point that gaskets don’t seal. Everyone every time after couple months if continuously latched shut

      @@AirstreamNerds i keep ice in mine 24/7 for work and I also keep my YETI’s latched all the time and they don’t warp plus lifetime ships them to retailers and they sit on the shelves latched and lifetime makes no mention of them only being for occasional Use only. Just saying no way around it. faulty

    Have you tested the leak factor? Thinking of getting the 55 but a friend says to get the 77. We camp out of our 4runner and it's just two of us and two small dogs. Most of the stuff we takemin the cooler doesn't need to be ice cold IE hot dogs, eggs, drinks. We've only done two nighters so far and the regular ice chest is mostly water by then. What are your thoughts?

      @AirstreamNerds  4 года назад +1

      I have had both the 55 and the 77 strapped in the back of my truck and drove off road on a very rutty beach which bounced the truck around a bunch. I did not have leak from either one. As you can see from watching both of my reviews that they changed the way the seal works on the 77 (and I assume they have upgraded the new 55's too but not completely sure). Both are great coolers so I guess my answer to you is get the 77 if you have the room and get the 55 if room is at a premium. I just bought the 27 so look for my review on that one soon! Thanks for watching!

      Ruby Colvin the Lifetime coolers definitely compare to the Yeti's that you are so fond of and at about a third of the price. I have been very very happy with my purchases...I have all three of their sizes and have had no issues other than what I have described in my reviews

    How do you like the 77 a year later? Contemplating picking one up? Do you drive a car? Easy to load in a car trunk? Thanks for the review.

      Hi Paul - I still really like the cooler. Are there better coolers out there? Of course but none compared to the cost of this one. I just used it - put it out on Saturday morning without pre-cooling or anything like that. Put two bags of ice in it then put a bunch of drinks in the cooler - none of which were cold already. Saturday afternoon and evening we had a few family members over - social distanced of course - and the cooler was heavily used. Yesterday evening (Monday) I opened to get a bottle of suds and there were still a few ice cubes floating and the water and drinks were ice cold. It has been in the 90's and the cooler is in direct sunlight all day where it is located.
      Regarding a car...no I have only used it in my pickup. And as far as easy to load - it is heavier than a normal cheap cooler to begin with so if easier meaning lighter then no. But the handles work well and with two people you should have no problems. Thanks for the question and for watching!
