- Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region late Thursday night as a category 4 hurricane.
Though Helene was downgraded to a tropical storm Friday morning, it continues to have historic and devastating impacts as it makes its way up through the southeast.

Are ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) homes prevalent for the area? These homes are more to construct but are water proof and may help with building/insurance in the region
Until DeSantis passes a law mandating that type of construction, greedy builders will continue building flimsy homes that collapse and have roofs that fly off.

Floridians relied on state insurance for flood and storm damage, but they're being denied the insurance so they will use private insurance, which isn't available in many coastal regions.
