We do try to be honest, even though sometimes that is really hard. Some books just speak to us more than others, and then some books just are very different from what we were expecting. We do realize that a different reader might have a whole different experience with a book, and that's fine, too :)
1st, Happy Advent ladies! Love & appreciate you both so much ❤️ 2nd, November found me non- productive on a reading level, just read a lot of Robert Frost & T.S. Eliot who I adore, & finished Hillary Clinton latest book. It's definitely not a book I'd reread. 3rd, December looks way more productive for me literary wise. I'm rereading Dickens A Christmas Carol, Scott Hahn's Joy to the World, Pope Benedict XVI's Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives, & lastly, the Gospel of Luke, a chapter a day. Thanks ladies for telling me about this: I grew up Catholic & I never learned about this practice. Luke's one of my favorite Gospels too! Thanks again for this wonderful channel, the community you've established, & for being the lovely souls you both are. God bless, much love. Till next time ❤
Happy Advent to you as well! We all go through ups and downs in our reading lives; that's for sure. It sounds like you have a great December lined up. Pope Benedict is one of our very favorite Popes to read… he just has a way of saying things in a way we can really understand. Happy reading, and thank you for being part of our community!
I love your charitable but honest takes on the books you read. "My True Love Gave to Me" looks like it would be a great gift - I've added that to my wish list! I was super busy in November so sadly I didn't finish the book I am reading - I hope I finish it in December!
We agree that one would be a great gift! We love how it explains what each day means. Sometimes life just does get really busy and reading takes a back shelf… we have all been there; we understand!
I read The Innocents Abroad years ago when I was taking German classes in college. I still remember his comments on the German language, some of which were wickedly funny. He could be a curmudgeon, but he certainly told some good stories.
Thanks for your reviews! Honestly your channel opened me up to Catholic authors/books. First book from your recommendation is Gospel of Luke 😊 a chapter a day. Also, is there a list you maintain that notes book reviewed/discussed on a website? So many good recommendations!
We're so glad our videos are helpful! Right now we have several book playlists for our channel. In the new year we hope to start a Good Reads account just for our reviews. We are loving how Luke starts out with a lot of John the Baptist… a favorite here :)
I always wanted to ask someone who is really into religious things, stuffs and their personal life. Personal life in a sense, those who have vehement devotion towards Blessed Virgin Mary, knows everything about Catholicism and tradition, can interpret Bible verses very intellectually but lacks personal life with others, Connecting with children and spouse. So, this might sound very weird but I want to know whether you Daughter and Mother fight? Or did you had any heated argument that led to serious disappointment? Or have you ever bring up your past unhealed problems now? Sorry for asking these many questions but I'm genuinely curious about this. Thank you so much for reading patiently. Hope you would reply 🙏🏻
Hello- just like any mother and daughter, we do have our more challenging moments; that is just real life. Perhaps there are families out there who never disagree about anything or who always get along great, but we really think they must be few and far between. Only God is perfect, and we know that anyone else can and probably will at some point let us down. Satan especially tries to tear families apart, so we rely heavily on prayer here. Hope that helps!
How did your reading go in November?
Thanks for sharing your reads. Oh I'd just be all over Dying to live; I love conversion stories.
I'm grateful you're here for us !
Dying to Live was so interesting… so many amazing things happened in his life! We share our love of conversion stories, Lena :)
love your honesty, that's what we all need.

He did! He would have been hugely popular on social media today with his sense of humor :)
Enjoyed the video so much
So glad! Thanks for letting us know :)

I love The Religious Hippie channel on you tube. Her slogan is Haters will be prayed for!
Yep- we pray for one and all. It's very kind of them to ID themselves so we can even pray for them by name :)
