Dave, I cannot imagine how difficult it is to make those flies. You and your parents fight through adversity on a daily basis. You're the kind of person I genuinely look to for inspiration, especially when I am having what I think is a bad day. I salute you, Sir.
So many people whine about their lives when very small things have gone wrong. Here is a family of heroes who are coping with living to serve others after a life changing accident. I salute them.
I don't know how this guy is still single! He seems so rich with character and humbleness, and full of love for life. And loves kids!!!! Prayers for our Lord's blessings upon him!
What an awesome guy. Nothing is stopping him from what he wants or wants to do. I am not sure to have this courage, guts and determination au he does. Someone to look up to.
I would imagine Secret Santa watches these videos somewhere, but I wonder if they realize the impact their kindness has on pretty much everyone who watches worldwide. The Secret Santa comments are the only place to read comments that are 100% kind. No bashing, just love for your fellow man. Thanks Secret Santa! ❤🎅🤶
I have to say, I've only ever driven through East Idaho as a very small boy. I follow this channel for the santa stories. I'm much older now and have been looking to relocate for sometime and Nate and his crew have made me start thinking of East Idaho. These stories remind me of a time when there was some semblance of community. I've long not experienced that. Idaho seems to hold onto that. Maybe I'm wrong but Idaho seems to hold something that many of us have forgot.
These testamonies are so healing for me to trust God no matter what!!! All things are possible to him that believe on His name!!! I lost another son last December in an accident. This season is a season of Praise, that I am healing. All of my Sons were close. These videos help me so much!!! God bless!!!
Sooo sorry for your losses. I lost my eldest daughter @16.5 years old, closing in on 24 years ago. I cannot fathom marching on losing even More, but know we Must, with God’s promise of being reunited one day.🙏
So very very happy for him. That all-terrain wheelchair will let him do something that he really enjoys (besides coaching)...fishing. Blessings on him, his family, East Idaho News ELVES and most especially to Secret Santa who made a dream of this young man come true!
Dave seems like the nicest guy, a real blessing to his community. I hope he is now able to go fishing, something I used to do with my dad when I was a kid. This segment brings back nice memories. Im so glad that during the holiday season, instead of celebrating pointless consumerism, Secret Santa and the East Idaho News staff go out of their way to give gifts with real meaning that better the lives of the recipients. No matter how small the gesture, if you are being kind and helping someone else, that is a blessing and the true meaning of Christmas! :))
Respect, mentoring and coaching/ training the kids in athletics / cross country. Even though he is now a quadriplegic. Those children are definitely going to remember him long after they leave the school and the area.
What a guy. I'm sure the kids he coaches really appreciate his dedication. He really deserves this gift from Secret Santa. So that's where you guys were going in the helicopter in the other video. I've been wondering. Merry Christmas!
@@kennymackie4518 This video IS WHERE THEY LANDED! If you had listened to the lady when she opened the door, at point 2:21, she said, "That's what the helicopter was?" Then Nate replies, "That's what the helicopter was." Then at point 4:25 Nate says, "and we wanted an excuse to fly in the helicopter." So Nate has nothing to fix (as you put it). You, however, may need to "fix" your hearing or pay attention.🚁
Having such a lifechanging event at 26 and ... continuing to move on , to live on, to be a part of a community and have an impact on others, that's real strength there. wish you the best man, you deserve it all.

you can just tell from the photos and his gaze that this is a man that oozes spirit and dedication. If he sets his mind to something he will see it through and help others to do the same. Im in awe of our recipients this year Secret Santa they are all excellent examples of the Idahoan community.
Now we know where they were going in that helicopter flight they showed us the other day! Secret Santa knows just what to do for his gift recipients. This was a fine example of his thoughtfulness. Thank you, Nate and EIN, for sharing this sweet moment with us.
What a wholesome, handsome, and handy young man! I hope he uses that five grand for his other needs/wants/desires though since Santa's second gift will be able to buy his entire new ATV wheelchair, without having to go through insurance! God bless him and his loving and devoted parents!
Well if you read the last part he needs everyday wheelchair too and will use the monet to that. If you don't understand why he needs two chairs, you can think it in a sense that would you use quad bike on snowmobile as your daily driver? Or take one on those inside of your home?
Loveforeignaccents: It would've been great if he could have just used the $5k just for fun, but when you have a need for an absolute necessity, that $5k is a whole load off him and does provide for his peace of mind. He's such a class act and a wonderful human being, more blessings to him. 💕
Dave is amazing! There are lots of folks that would just give up on life after an accident like that. Look how beloved he is in his community! And, tying flies is actually pretty challenging for folks with fully functional hands. Not only does Dave do it, but he's a state fair winner to boot. The fly in the video was quite beautiful.

It’s neat hearing about all of the different familiar towns in Idaho. My mom and her brothers and sisters were born in Idaho Falls. I haven’t been to Idaho since I was a kid when my mom and her cousin and her son and I drove out from California. My mom‘s late uncle had a Farm. And I remember horseback riding and going fishing for trout and the trout were just going nuts and we were scooping them up with a net. Those aunts and uncles that were still living in Idaho have all passed away but I still have cousins up there I hope to visit again one day soon.
I’d of appreciated that man receiving a handshake instead of a pat and that’s what he was expecting too. Regardless I LOVE this series and what it does for people! Keep it up much respect secret Santa!
@@zuzilezungu5899 But Nate isn't. It's possible for an able bodied person to reach for the hand of a disabled person, even if it's disfigured or weak. If it's closed you can give them a fist bump. No disrespect to Nate or the East Idaho crew, I love what they do, but as a rule of thumb, it's most respectful to treat people in wheelchairs as you would someone who isn't. It's common for people in wheelchairs to get pats on the back, because our shoulders are at the level of other people's hands, but when you usually greet someone, do you give them a pat on the back? When do people usually give other people pats on the back? When a person is suffering and distraught. So the message that's being sent with a pat on the back, however subtly, is sympathy. But a person in a wheelchair isn't suffering all the time. They are getting on with their lives and don't want sympathy all the time or to be viewed by others as a victim. While it comes from a good place on the side of the giver, it's a constant reminder that people feel sorry for you, which, at least for me, is tiresome. Pragmatic support is very appreciated, but sympathy is not.
@@thornarts2130 You make a lot of sense Thorn. I recently saw a picture of two government officials, giving assistance to a man without limbs, an a hand was extended to the other one ( my interpretation was, the powerful one was dutifully passing help without being fully present, as it became very awkward when the recipient couldn't reach out)!
I’m so glad he was able to get a new regular wheel chair as well as the all terrain one. You could tell just from seeing the house and his kind mother how much love there is there. I was so excited to see the Christmas decor lol. I hope he has a bunch of fun fishing.

Oh, I was wondering where they were going in the helicopter in a previous video. I live in Greece, and I love watching these Secret Santa videos.
What a good guy. Bless bro sending love from Miami
Merry Chr8stmas...what a blessing he is. Inspiring too. Wow.
Thank you 😊 the same to you
Thank you Secret Santa.
I love that Santa’s sleigh was a helicopter!
These vids just keep getting better! Secret Santa is a legend as are Nate and his team. Catch a big one Coach Dave!
Dave you are an incredible man. You’re the kind of man that we would like to have as a neighbor. Thank you for what you give and how you live. Your flies are nice and all but you don’t need a better lure than you yourself. Merry Christmas. 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼
This is what Christmas is about. I've not had a Christmas in 30 years because spouse is Ill. But I still do Acts of Kindness . Thank You ❣️💖💖💖💖💖💖
Well done secret Santa, obviously a well deserved gift for a humble and wonderful man
I’d of appreciated that man receiving a handshake instead of a pat and that’s what he was expecting too. Regardless I LOVE this series and what it does for people! Keep it up much respect secret Santa!
But Rob, he's a quadruplage,
@@zuzilezungu5899 But Nate isn't.
@@zuzilezungu5899 Thanks for considering my perspective zuzile. Hope you have a great day!
I’m so glad he was able to get a new regular wheel chair as well as the all terrain one. You could tell just from seeing the house and his kind mother how much love there is there. I was so excited to see the Christmas decor lol. I hope he has a bunch of fun fishing.
What an amazing young man! Awesome, Nate! You must LOVE that part of your job!! How wonderful to be part of answering prayers!
This one destroyed me .... tearsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Good for him, that'll be wonderful for him & enrich his life much more.
Much deserved gift ! Awesome man !
This man is so deserving.
Thank you ❤
going to change things for the better. What a coach!! Getting to custom make it! that is where the helicopter was going. I am sending you a letter Nate, I said i was going to, and its being mailed this week. For Santa. Every year i get to watch secret santa. I guess it gives me hope to not stop believing.& also staying grateful for what i can do. Much thanks
What a great and deserving guy. I’m glad he’s now able to get his chairs, and have his needs met.
You guys do not skimp! You could easily get just barely enough money to get a track chair, and they would be just as happy, but you guys give $15000 which is well more than enough to get a track chair with lots of upgrades. Good for you guys! The attention to detail really adds to it
Amazing, right??
Sometimes a person just needs a lil boost to know that your not alone and that people is thinking of u and I bet he will never miss a day to help them kids
I wait until midnight every night to see the beautiful love you spread from secret santa each day! Keep up the great work!! You are inspiring! 💕
