These packs are awesome. They will last several lifetimes in civilian use. The straps on top of the pack can be used for a ranger roll or poncho, or other cylindrical items. They are also used to attach the assault pack to the large ruck. The interior straps behind the plastic stiffener are used for attaching the pack to a parachute rig.
$60 was a awesome deal man! I have been looking for a while but paying over $100 is hard to swallow. The only thing better for me would be the woodland pattern.
If you have a Thrift Shop in your area is worth looking there... I got the same Assault Backpack DCU on a Thrift Shop for $6.00 Yesterday In real good condition. That was a very good find...
I like that type of Pack. My Son gave me one of his about 10years ago but it's in the ACU Junk. Besides that I'm Happy As Hell with the Design/Layout and Heavy Duty Zippers. It's Perfect for my needs. Great Video Brother.
After our chat on IG, I went digging around on the net and found tons in ACU in the $30 to $50 range. For what I’m going to use it for I may suffer through ACU. Closest to this the Marine Corps had when I was in was the ALICE butt pack so I’m not gonna be too picky. The straps in the stiffener pocket are for hydration bladder. Good video, thanks man!
For $60 you got one hell of a deal. Yeah the M81 woodland assault packs are a very rare item since the riots of 2020 started up, if you find one now they are usually beat up pretty bad, but there are some rare instances you'll come across a decent to like-new condition one. Those white straps inside the pocket with the stiffener is for when you are parachuting in and those straps are strapped to your drop bag. The buckles on the bottom and top of the pack are for when you need to strap your assault pack to your large rucksack (usually empty of course) and I'm not sure about the medium rucksack but I think you can do that too with the medium rucksack too. The beauty of the assault pack is that you can attach extra pouches to increase your loadout. I usually attach a canteen pouch, flash-bang pouches, E-tool pouch, or 100 or 200 round SAW pouches. In one of my earlier videos I showed my assault pack which was my get home bag, and you can see how I set mine up.
I just ordered one of these packs on E-bay OCP camo . I think it's a little bit different than the Multicam but at least it's not that ACU pattern!, can't wait to get it. $75 with free shipping. Always wanted the Woodland camo version, but like you said, I have never seen one for sale anymore and I gave up. Thanks for the video and showing all the components and features. I've never seen one in person.
I was wanting this same pack. But its to small. I looked high and low for a pack that I could put on and off as expected. I ended up settling for the condor 3 day assault pack. Little more room than I wanted but it fits me. Tall and big frame is often unhandy .
@@PalmettoDissident I dyed my TAPS green and was gonna do like @DJ The Metalhead Mercenary and dye a FLC brown for wintertime. Then when I'm painting my rifle green and brown I'll hit both rigs at the same time and break em up some. Turns out pretty good IMO

Hell yeah!

100% agree. Maybe I'll find one someday.

I just bought 2 of these at a local gun show for $25/pair. The guy had a ton of these in various condition and even had large ruck sacks for $8
Nice
Adding the shellback tactical shoulder pads to those straps make it a very usable pack. Big comfort improvement
Very good review! Great load out start!
Thanks
I’ve got one in UCP, want one in OCP. But it’s an outstanding pack, built tough, solid, and will last many years. One of the best packs out there.
I like it so far.

Thanks. I think it's a solid lil bag.
I used Rit Green Apple dye on some of my ACU stuff, it turns out pretty good, nice color of green.
@@PreparedOverlander I'll look into that. Thanks.

the straps on the inside where the foam is are the Jump ready straps for airborne use as far as i know
That's what I've heard. Thanks
The straps behind the stiffener are for the radio. You got a good deal on that pack.
Yeah I see the for $100 +
actually those are called airbourne straps....
Interesting

Great 3day pack this is what I upgraded to and handed my medium Alice pack down to my son
Great video, I personally have a 5.11 tactical rush 72 (old version) that I’ve own for like 7 years now.
Those white colored straps inside are for rigging it for airborne operations.
Thanks
Nice!!!
Great versatile set up bro.Getting one for mine exploring real soon.Keep ripping the walmart ones.About how many liters are the 3 day?
Awesome job
Good looking pack.
I like it
I've seen people use those top loops for sleeping pads or ranger rolls, not sure what the official purpose is supposed to be

Glad you got squared away.
No e pack I'm going to have to watch for one.
I wish I could get something like this at the surplus store I go to. It's all large ACU stuff.
Still ACU but Worth a look.

Is your pronoun black? Just stupifies me how everyone identifies themselves with the obvious.
Are you serious?

Ok then.
OV Innovations "Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment" (MOLLE) on utube tells the whole system. Neat tips and mods around there from vets also.
Thanks
Very usefull video. Please tell ky how much littres is a real volume of this backpack?
Stated as being 35 liters from what I've found.
I just paid 30$
Nice
