I’m not in the Armed Services or related in any way nor do I intend on jumping out of airplanes into enemy territory but, I love these videos!!! I can’t help but watch the excellence in action. Bravo sir BRAVO
Huh. 10 years in Airborne units (including 5 years Active at Ft Bragg), and I had always heard, kinda like rumor mill style, those white straps in the Assault Bag could be used to rig it for a Jump directly like this. But never once did we do that, talk about it, acknowledge in any official capacity that that was an actual thing (we always simply jumped full sized rucks). Heck a lot of guys thought that those straps were really something to do with tieing down a radio or some other normal thing lol. Even when I went through Jumpmaster School, the Assault Bag wasn't even really mentioned (much less any of this, literally this video is the first time I've ever seen an actual bit of instruction to do rig an A Bag that wasn't "Stuff it in the main Ruck, rig the Ruck" lol)
Well it was the same experience for me as well. No one had a clear understanding of how the Airborne Attaching Straps were used. I went ahead and read the CAASOP to finally get some answers and put this video together for others to understand too. I very much appreciate your feedback! I’m trying to make a positive change 😃👍🏼
Same experience I had. I went to JM school twice 😅 one at the 82nd course and the other at a USASOC course and neither one really went over the assault pack. We glossed over it for like 5 minutes. I never really had the idea to really dig into it either since we only ever jumped the MOLLE or the ALICE. But this video is something I will be showing my guys.
Thanks for these videos, we need more people making current high quality videos, especially for JM candidates! I want to start jumping the MAP as you’ve shown, but the TC states the internal straps are not authorized for rigging. Has there been an update like a safety message, TB, or ALARACT?
The MAP has weight limitations for rigging. If under 35lbs, it can be jumped using the internals straps. If over 35lbs, it needs to be rigged with the Harness Single Point Release (H-Harness). If you jump the MAP using the internal straps, it is designed to be ridden in. You do not lower the MAP. You only lower it in case of an emergency landing. I cannot tell you whether it is authorized to jump or not. It may be unit dependent.

Now I know what those straps are for! Thank you!
You’re welcome! Most people do not know the purpose of those straps. That’s why I did my research and made the video. Now everyone will know!

Did you remove the snap hooks from your adjustable attaching straps, or are they different snap hooks?
Having trouble taking mine off.
Yes. I removed them from my Adjustable D-Ring Attaching Straps.

Vous devriez avoir un sous-titre de traduction française.
Tu devrais apprendre le français au lieu d’utiliser google translate 😜
