    Add salt when almost done cooking. Salt toughens the lentils and increases cooking time.

      They weren’t clear when they said reducing the heat. Medium heat? Or low heat? Makes a huge difference.

    Does the lentil have to soak 7-8 hours or can it soak 2-3 hours but cook for a longer duration? Ty.

    • @GoVeganLifeRecipes
      @GoVeganLifeRecipes  Год назад +2

      Hello, if you soak for 7-8 hours the cooking time will reduce, if you soak for 2-3 hours it will take little longer time to cook.

    Why did you discard cooked water?

  • @ippokratismargiouklas2791
    @ippokratismargiouklas2791 11 месяцев назад +7

    WHY WOULD YOU DRAIN THE WATER?!? that's the best part , dip some bread and feta cheese in it and it's one of the best foods ever . Also you must add thinly sliced carrots, garlic, onion and tomato , and finish it of with a little vinegar

    Hello! I sprout my lentils, and when I cook them (over 30 mins), some are still very crunchy. Why is this? I use a 1:3 ratio of lentils to water.

    • @GoVeganLifeRecipes
      @GoVeganLifeRecipes  Год назад +4

      Hello, it’s always the case with me as well, u need to check the lentils before taking them out of the stove. Also soak the the lentils properly for around 7-8 hours or over night so that it cooks faster.
