Actually, it's society where predators hide. The Church unfortunately reflects the make up of society. That being said, accusations need to be corroborated before any judgement can be passed. It's too easy for a woman to shout rape, and make a false report. Unless there is corroboration, there can be no conclusion.

Gotta “love” how his wife has to read her statement of support! Of course she’s gonna defend him! She’s gonna lose all the benefits of his salary! As for the adopted young man, he’s entirely blinded by being adopted by a white man, and of course, by his adopted mother’s support for him. Sexual assault HAPPENS by those in positions of leadership in the church, more often than most people are willing to admit! Anyplace where people are so trusting, is a place where victims have NO refuge!

The facts will come out, and I won't judge yet. That said, it happens more often than people think, especially in insular church communities. There really is no good reason for a youth pastor to be alone with a minor. Men and women in youth ministry should have another leader be present in meetings, just the way doctors practice good sense by having nurses and parents in the exam room with a young patient.
