psionicomniverse Agreed!!! This foster family obviously didn't give a f**k about the multiple knives and guns he had in his room all while mentally ill or the numerous threats he made online about committing a future school shooting and failed to notify the school or students of his behavior!! This family should be held liable for this as well. This government needs to start holding people accountable for their actions.

They seem put out, detached and controlling. Probably anything but what he needed. But the kid is a psychopath and there isn't anything anyone can do about that. No known cure or treatment. This is why we need the death penalty. If found to be a psychopath a person must be executed. There is no way around it. Because they will never stop killing regardless of where they are. It's the disease. You don't want them procreating another generation of killers. You just don't.

He claims he "thought" he had the only key to gun safe but according to him, at 5:30 he says he was there when the gun safe was purchased and at 6:16 his wife states that one of the rules that he "followed" was that he wasn't permitted to take the guns out when they weren't home. Now, maybe I'm reading into this too closely, but if you have the "only key", or at least THOUGHT that you did, then why is this rule necessary to begin with? Something is off here. I think they know a little more than they are letting on. I believe they were at the very least extremely careless. They knew they had a mentally unstable person living under their roof (took him to counseling just days prior) and they also knew he had an arsenal under that same roof. And based on their own words, I believe they knew he had unfettered access to that safe. Again, why in the hell would it be necessary to forbid him to have the weapons out when they were not home if he did not have access to them anyway? I wish the camera had cut to their attorney when she opened her mouth about that tid bit. Talk about a head-in-hands moment.

That bit got my attention too, but if looking for an innocent explanation, I thought maybe the parents didn't always take the gunsafe key with them when they went out. If they have 2 cars & 2 sets of keys, then likely the gun safe key was on the Dad's keychain. If they went out together in the Mum's car, presumably they would have taken her keys & left his keys at home in their keyholder, where he could have accessed it, but they assumed since he was so well behaved in their presence that he wouldn't do so

You know how some people like to put on a impression to get people to believe they are what they want them to believe, hiding their true nature. He probably knew if he had shown his real side, he would have been kicked out in no time. So I empathize with them. Kid is def two faced for sure.

It is not a good idea to allow a young person who you don’t know that well, around guns. We tried to help them all as they were having difficulty at their dysfunctional family units. It’s not this couples fault what Nick ended up doing. You never know what’s going on in one’s mind,..not even in your own Childrens minds sometimes. It’s such a horrific and sad situation all the way around.💔

    • @Duffeyfam4
      @Duffeyfam4 2 года назад

This is a person who suffers from mental/emotional illness. What happened was absolutely horrific, no one is diminishing that. However, this child needed serious, serious help that went unanswered. Look at him as the person with a challenge that he is. I personally do not for one second believe he knew the consequences for his actions. I see a young man who was so emotionally and mentally tortured he snapped and lashed out. Like the straw that broke the camels back he just for whatever reason could not contain the pain and rage built up inside. Does that excuse his actions absolutely NOT! Does that mean he should not be punished? NO he should however, he STILL needs help serious help!! Why did it take something like this to happen? I have a daughter with Autism they can exhibit major mood swings and act out.Especially boys. When I ask my daughter what is bothering her many times she cannot put into words what is bothering her until we take a lot of time to figure it out. It sounds to me this person did not have that luxury which should not be a luxury at all. It should be considered a necessity to all kids not just the challenged. How sad is it that he thinks he deserves to die? That living somehow is worse than death! Doesn't that speak volumes? Many challenged kids despite what ppl. think can sense when you are going through the motions of being kind. Would you want ppl to do that to you? Pretend to care when in reality you are just doing it out of a sense of obligation or worse to seek recognition for "doing a good deed". What he did is an unspeakable horrific act, tbt if I were the parent of one of the children lost I would want him to suffer the pain he inflicted on my family too. That is, if I didn't know he had a mental challenge. This person is literally like a lamb being led to the slaughter. Look at him!! If you could see beyond the hatred that rightfully anyone would have, You'd see a lost little boy not truly comprehending what is happening. All he knows is he did a very bad thing and from what I can see cannot really cope with the gravity of it. He is facing this alone..... again he is alone in a world that doesn't make sense to him. People are really cruel in his eyes. I pray for everyone because truth is everyone involved in this is a victim. Everyone involved feels dead inside, especially this young man. If only ppl could look beyond the rage and take this tragedy and turn it into a triumph. Let's ensure that Guns can never be placed in the hands of a person who could potentially do something like this! Let's not just medicate & push these kids through a school system for the funds the school can obtain for them. We need to truly come up with a curriculum that can actually help them mentally physically and most impotantly emotionally . With the amount of kids being diagnosed with emotional and cognitive issues this is everyone's problem to roll up the sleeves to try and correct. Lets not tolerate discrimination against ANYONE! That doesnt mean to shame and blame another. Rather be a light in thier life and help them to do what is right. Time and time again we have seen things like this happen and the common denominator seems to be the perpetrator was somehow bullied or tortured and NO ONE came to be beside them. With that being said, I was that bullied, tortured kid yet never once did I think of doing something like this. However, I also grew up in a home ( broken as well) but still united in love and faith. My faith is truly what has carried me through challenges beyond comprehension. My heart truly, truly breaks for every single person involved in this they are ALL victims. I chose to stop feeling like a victim and become victorious on my journey. My heart and prayers go out to each and every parent suffering great loss I know saying I'm sorry really means nothing so I offer a virtual ✋️ to hold for a lifetime why? Most people will move on and yet you will do your best to The truth is like it or not this has forever changed your life. There will be days you will find Joy again embrace those days you deserve them. Do not be ashamed to have them . Your sons ans daughters would not want you to stop living. They would want you to live, live for them, honor thier memory by enjoying life as they would have. I will share this in the hope it brings you peace and hope as that is my only wish by sharing this. I had a near death experience when I was perceived dead I never felt more love, peace and joy than I did during that time. Mere words cannot give it justice. As I watched from above my body, all I wanted was to convey to my loved ones to not cry or suffer because I felt the best I ever had . I came from a very loving family. This love was different though it was so pure abundant ans engulfing such a beautiful feeling. I hope and pray this brings a little peace to your day. I will be praying for all of you not just in this moment but for the rest of my days because that is what I would want ppl to do for me. I know the hardest thing for you to do is to forgive but in order for you to truly live again you will need to forgive. Also, please don't harbor guilt about what you did or did not say your loved ones are still with you they simply just changed their address. They still know your heart beats for them. God Bless all of you. I pray this post helps the. Families and the peep. To turn this around and make this senseless act be the light of change so that we can stop repeating the pain that comes from feelings of neglect, bullying, discrimination and hate.

Then how did a second key get in nic’s hand or nic was able to get the or found the sole single key ? In which case, at least in Canada the father is chargeable under our firearms act failure to secure. Either way nic got into the safe. Oh and in Canada we require double locks the safe or locked box and trigger lock. The theory is that in an act of rage having to use two different types of keys to open safe and trigger lock will slow you down so you might think twice or calm down.

And no amount of therapy, friends, family, cops, foster homes, cps interventions will change who he is. He's a manipulative controlling, "narcissistic" personality, and that in itself guarantees that you are giving him too much credit. This kid, Brian Laundry, so many many publicly covered instances of people like this. It's how they were raised in early early childhood and that can't be changed or reversed. There's a teenage boy who seems kind of normal to his father, his mother died when he was young and so he was mentally affected, he killed animals in his spare time and had the urge to move on to 'bigger things'. He wanted to take human life. This all seems a bit coincidental :/

Coincidental is exactly what it is, and it's also very common among human stories. There are only so many combinations of stories that are interesting, and sometimes they are very similar to each other. This guy's mother died when he was 18 or 19, still young, but an adult. Having a parent die is not enough to turn someone into a spree shooter, unless you are otherwise deeply disturbed already.

God bless the family that took in Nikolas Cruz. They were trying to do a GOOD thing by helping him out when his Stepmom died. My heart breaks for this family and for all the families that lost loved ones. I hope the public understands that the family was trying to help a kid who was alone when his stepmom passed.

The way I see it is that these foster parents screwed up with letting a TEENAGER have access to guns!! I understand that people "want" to let someone have their right to the second amendment, BUT if your a household which doesn't have a gun in it AND THEN you bring someone else into your home and they have guns; especially when they're still a teenager, then you're at fault for letting that teenager have a gun! Because NO TEENAGER is mentally mature enough to possess a firearm (IMO)! If Nikolas was already like in his mid to late twenties, then that would be a whole different story. BUT this guy was still in his youth, still mentally developing AND he shouldn't of had access to guns at such a young age! This is why gun laws need to change and need to make the minimum age of owning a firearm someone where at the age of 25. Even car insurance companies charge a higher premium for people under the age 25 because they understand that young adults are still reckless and careless in their youth. And if car insurance companies understand this concept then law makers need to understand this too and make gun laws to keep firearms out of the hands of people under 25!!

There are literally hundreds of thousands of 14-18 year old teenagers that hunt and participate in competitive shooting sports and they dont murder anyone.. . This has nothing to do with age and everything to do with mental illness. A normal 16 or 18 year old kid with a healthy brain knows that murder is wrong, regardless if there brains are fully developed or not. It doesn't matter if nick was 18 years old or 28 years old, mentally ill people shouldn't own firearms. Unfortunately nobody spotted the mental illness.

@@thetruepatriot7733 IT's doesn't matter that there's "hundreds of thousands of 14-18 yr olds who do competitive shooting sports or hunting. Parents shouldn't be promoting the use of firearms to children ANYWAYS!! When I was a kid, my parents gave me a BB gun to play with and even that was a mistake on their end because I shot out a neighbors window due to my "carelessness". Point is, children have developing brains whether mental illness or not, children should not be handling nor owning nor possessing real firearms! PERIOD! We don't let children vote, we don't let children smoke, we don't let children "legally" drink alcohol and we don't do this for one simple realistic and logical reason.... BECAUSE THEIR BRAINS ARE STILL MATURING!!
Also... you say "a normal 18 year old with a healthy brain knows murder is wrong", BUT GUESS WHAT? A "normal 18 yr old health brain kid" ALSO knows that bullying is wrong. ALSO knows that fighting and picking on someone is wrong, ALSO knows that drinking alcohol while being under age is wrong, ALSO knows stealing is wrong! BUT, yet HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of teenagers all the way up to the age of 21 are caught doing ALL THOSE THINGS that they know are wrong! Don't they? And yet, by society's standards, we call those teens and young adults "normal teen behavior"!
So, my point is, don't being trying to use the cop out excuse that "normal 18 yr old with healthy brains know murder is wrong" because them knowing something is wrong doesn't mean nor stop teens from doing the things that they know are wrong! And this is because teens brains are still growing, still maturing, still developing AND are still being molded by what ever environment they are in. This is why NO KID, NO TEEN and NO young adult under the age of 21 (me personally believe no one under the age of 26 would be better, but that's another argument for another day).... SHOULD be allowed to possess, own or handle a firearm! NOT EVEN with their parents presents! And I say not even with their parents presents because any right minded, competent parent would know and understand that they shouldn't be putting a firearm in their child's hands and shouldn't be teaching their child about firearms at those young age, in the first place!! Just like how responsible, competent parents don't introduce children to sex and have their child "watch" people have sex or give their child drugs to use! Even though adults do these things!

@@codeXenigma 1) Age DOES have something to do with this particular mass shooting. 2) The OTHER parameter that has to do with these "300 mass shootings this year", is to relaxed gun laws! 3) with ~ 300 mass shootings just here in America alone, ONLY PROVES two things... a) guns need to be taken out of the American public's hands and b) it's time to abolish the 2nd Amendment!
Just like what Australia did! They took away the right for citizens to have guns and BAM... All of a sudden, for the last 30 years, they've had ZERO MASS SHOOTINGS!!!
Yes, they'd have some gun shootings, BUT they weren't "mass shootings"!
And that just goes to show and PROVE that guns need to be eliminated and taken out of the American public's hands!!
Gun fanatics LOVE to tout about "being able to fight our government" and "take back our government" and "protect our democracy" BS talking points, in order to justify keeping the 2nd Amendment in place and keeping guns in people's hands, BUT Jan 6th HAS PROVEN that even with people having guns they weren't able to overthrow or do a "coup"!
But the main point is, if America wants to put a stop to mass shootings, we need to eliminate the 2nd Amendment and take guns out of people's hands! That's the ONLY way to put a stop to mass shootings!
And for those who believe guns are the "only way" for "self-defense" they are just plain stupid and cowards! Because there are way more and many other types of "weapons" that can be used for one to "protect themselves" with!

I'm really baffled at why they would allow a young man in High School to have Guns in their home? A gun safe whereby the father "thought" he had the only key? I just can't fathom that there was absolutely nothing unusual they couldn't see in this sociopath. Where were they when calls about this guy were made to the FBI? Why weren't they involved in being made aware of so many students concerns? I'm not blaming or judging them, I'm just finding hard to understand. Their son knew nothing was "off" either? Just trying to understand. Prayers and heartache for those victims, their families, and friends. So, so sad... Thoughts? Thanks

at 5:20 they say they got this kid a GunSafe. A gunsafe is very expensive and heavy. Not only that three eyewitnesses say the gunman was wearing a bulletproof facemask and underneath a skimask. A bullet proof vest, and enough magazines to shoot 100's of rounds. This is a ton of money!!!! If he worked at dollar store it would have been "after" school he could never have afforded a AR 13 guns a bullet proof vest, a bullet proof mask, high capacity magazines, a gun safe. this Guardian dad guy has just contradicted himself! He said he checked all the paperwork on his guns, then immediately said he doesn't know what he had. None of this makes any sense. And any kid would be totally excited to buy a Car the moment he could afford it.
