Thanks Kirk. I think you may be one of the first to demonstrate this on the X series! I did some of it after our tour and I really enjoyed it! It’s fairly intuitive. Again, I really enjoyed our tour of Cape Ann. I will be back. It also helps personalize the experience now when I watch your videos! Geoff
I used to edit RAW files inside my LUMIX cameras years ago. You can adjust the tone curve and tons of other settings you might change in post. Very handy feature!
The build in raw developing is awesome and Fujis own X Raw Studio is really amazing! You can save your "recipes" and can easily see the final result. Much appreciated feature and you made a good video about it!
I love this feature myself, definitely useful when a picture is a bit under or over exposed. Also, lately I've been rating the pictures I want to keep in camera, so when I use Photo Mechanic on my PC I only need to filter the 1-star pictures for a faster and easier import, and this filtering works as well in the X App, so no need to review so many pictures in the App, just filter 1-star pictures and you're good to go for the phone as well.
Good info Kirk - Thanks! Haven't used RAW conversion yet so it's good to see it in action. Do you think you're going to continue to do this in-camera editing or will you stick with Lightroom/PhotoShop?
Thanks Steve. I’ve had fun using it in a coffee shop or similar environment and then posting to IG. So fun but does not replace using LR for real editing.
Hey Kirk, I agree being able to edit in camera is great. Such a cool feature. Especially if I realized i took a bunch of pics in provia when I meant to use pro neg hi etc. I would shoot straight jpg except for this ability alone, just in case I want to re-process in another camera produced simulation. I find the jpgs from the camera are just way better than anything I can get from a raw file in capture one (I'm not great at editing color in post). The fujifilm x raw studio app is pretty neat allowing you to edit photos on your computer with those same settings and it will send your photo to your connected camera process the jpg in camera and send the jpg back to your computer. Love your content! You always take us on a relaxing journey.
I love this feature! Even though you can do a film sim bracket you still can’t adjust the images to taste like you can with a film sim recipe. It’s a shame you can’t to a film recipe bracket - now that would be cool!
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography oh ya that would be really cool to have the custom film sims as a bracket. I showed my wife how to setup film recipe and she saw that you could have ilford b&w and she just lost it. I donated my x-t20 to her (brought her over from canon, she will never go back). She is an artist and lived in the dark room back in the day so it really speaks to her.
This is especially useful if you're like me and shoot almost exclusively Fuji X Weekly jpegs. I shot a picture using an Ilford HP5 simulation and it was very obvious a color version would have been better, so I could just reprocess using a color film simulation I liked. My only complaint is that I don't think the cameras allow you to reprocess using an entire Q-menu custom setting, and instead you have to re-enter everything. I know the raw processor app has this functionality, though, so it is an easy workaround.
Nice video! I haven’t explored transferring photos from my Fuji camera straight to my iphone. I know there’s some negativity around Fuji’s phone apps, especially their old one. It’s good to see that it’s a workable process. And great fall colors!
Not news worthy but this channel is not about news it’s about the fun you can have with Fuji cameras. I did mention that you can do this with many Fuji cameras. 😜
Hah! You're determined to make me buy an XT5. 😄 Great video Kirk.
Neville you can do this with most every Fujifilm camera just not as many controls as the X-T5.

Thanks Geoff I had a great time showing you around. X raw studio is even more fun developing recipes and then storing them in the XT5

Thanks for the info. I was not aware of that. Yes it’s a great feature to Fuji cameras.

Thanks it’s such a fun feature on most Fujifilm cameras.
Excellent video - thank you.
Thanks!
One of my favourite features from Fuji cameras I wish had updated XT3 with some of that feature on XT4 and XT5.
Yes same here. Sadly it’s not as robust with the X-T3 like it is as you say with the X-T5.
This tip would work great with an Instax printer. I’m going to give it a try. Thanks.
Yes that’s a great idea

Something I may play with in a coffee shop. The changes you made in RAW will they be on the downloaded RAW file?
Ian no the raw file stays untouched. Only a jpg, tif, or heif are added to the end of the files on the card.
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography Cheers for that.

I do the same thing at times. I love doing that.

The new app works much better than the last, at least on iPhone.
Thanks it was a fun one to do. The X app works much better once you get it dialed in. The fall colors are just starting to pop around here.
🔥🙌
Thanks Jonni!
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography welcome 🙌
Literally possible on every Fuji camera, at least since the X-T2… the earliest version Fuji camera I own… so not newsworthy at all, in Fuji-world ;)
Well done you 😏

@@KirkWilliamsonphotography I imagine the 5 has more possibilities than the 2.
