Channel, like landfall, should just be an evergreen mechanic. The harvestor and the discover dinosaur both have it.
Also going forward all "kicker" mechanics including actual kicker should have that + symbol in the mana cost that spree have.
Landfall and Channel are rules-meaningless. Unlike surveil, there's nothing that triggers on "Landfall" or "Channel" that doesn't work when a land etbs or you discard a card.
The + seems to indicate a mandatory cost, so it might not be suited for kicker, too.
I have to disagree on the + symbol there, Spree has mandatory additional costs, kicker is optional. The + is there to remind you that you cannot cast it for just the mana cost in the upper right corner.
I'd be okay with channel, though, even if it's probably not on some cards for flavor reasons. And it's not like we have "channel" payoffs.
@Alikaoz yeah but landfall is evergreen. There's literally a card in Thunder Junction that has the words Landfall on it, but the harvester doesn't have Channel even though its in the same set. Which is weird because they are clearly still using channel on other cards.
Going back to the + symbol. Having the spree plus symbol has the benefit of telling players that a card has an additional cost while having multiple cards in hand. (As shown in one of the videos in the official magic channel has demonstrated).
Although, maybe it could work on stuff with mandatory additional costs too like the many Bone Splinters or Tormenting Voices in the world.
A minus version could also work with stuff like affinity, convoke or improvise.
What I'm saying is it would be a shame to limit this + templating only to spree. Although, i would like to see how a spree like mechanic on permanents.
The rules almost support the mixing and matching of “•” and “+” bullet points. The “+” shows that an additional cost must be paid to choose the mode. So it’s possible with a few small tweaks for a card to have both.

auto losing no matter what you do is stupid as hell. I had the game on lock down until they cast this and now I lose automatically nothing I can do

That plotted counter spell makes me wonder why more people aren't worried about the new Jace. Can't he plot counterspells from hand to cast later?
You can only cast plotted spells as a sorcery so they can't counter anything

(Casting a plotted card is, notably, only at sorcery speed)

Rush of Dread and Bloodletter is broken and as much of a cheat as it can be without actually BEING a cheat. If I had a game store it would be a banned combo instantly ! It's pure BULLSHIT.
