    I am a kitchen fitter and have the Bosch corded rail saw. I have had the saw for approximately 10 years and it has never broken down,kicked back or let me down. It has cut everything I have ever put the saw to use on. Plastic,laminate,pine,compact laminate,resin surfaces,cement board,plasterboard,wet wall panels, acrylic splash backs and I even used it to trim down a metal shower wall profile plus insulation board. Blades range from around £18 upwards and are readily available. I have found cheaper blades to last and perform well. I just price a cheaper blade into each kitchen fit and find I get a few jobs out of each blade. The expensive Bosch blades at around £50 are good and do last but I can’t say their performance is a noticeable improvement. I would buy another one if it packs up as I don’t know how I used to fit kitchens without it.

      I've thought that about a ton of tools ive bought and then ive ended up using them countless times. Granted a lot of them didn't cost as much as a track saw but if ya want one get one. You'll use it.

    I am trying to decide between the festool, makita, and milwaukee cordless track saws. I dont own batteries for any of these platforms yet. I'd also like a dust extractor to ruen with the saw as well.

The next Tool thats replaced is the mafell lo55 and thats the best Router that if seen. I have as much mafell as festool Tools bothe are german made and there factorys are few miles apart. • @Mir_Azad
      @Mir_Azad 2 месяца назад +1

      most of the top brand track saws are great except dewalt
      if you want to buy a corded one try to go with the battery system you are already in, but i suggest to avoid festool because the accessories are expensive, milwaukee offers same price for tool as festool but milwaukees tracks are cheaper.
      just dont forget to not buy corded version if you dont need it, with track saws you will use a vaccumer too so corded or cordless wont effect different

    It appears that if you’re using dust extraction then battery saws are unnecessary as you’re tethered anyway. That saves some money and hassle.

    U know what track saws have really taken out of carpentry is the skill of a tradesperson to cut timber true and straight and given it to the diyer I’m not saying that’s a bad thing all I’m saying is that’s democracied it u don’t need to b an experienced time served carpenter to now cut true straight cuts anymore with this tool literally anyone can do it but for the carpenters out there it does speed the whole process up which ain’t a bad thing

    Hi I just purchased a Makita corded track saw…. I thought a track saw would be a excellent tool for cutting sheet plywood and Melamine down to size.. I can’t say I’m really impressed… My issues are the the motor slows down on some of the cuts and the plunging action feels Awkward and can cause rpm changes while plunging that can cause blade jamming.. When cutting sheet plywoods I warn you to make the sheet is perfectly straight and flat and the pieces on each side of the blade are evenly supported if not you will get blade binding and saw kick back… So these are some of the issues I had that never had with a ordinary circular saw…

    • @OhioPowerTool
      @OhioPowerTool  2 месяца назад

      When I'm cutting plywood with a Track Saw, I lay it on a thick sheet of foam. To your point, it keeps the board straight and I never really had any issues with it.

    this video does not really explain "Why". What you can do, time, accuracy, savings, cuts that you can or can't do. It is more of a festool fanboy ad. You seem to leave out Makita as well. Heavy on promo, little on useful informational content.
