I got my kids battery vehicles for Christmas this year. My son who is 7 wanted a dirt bike so we found a 24v bike that is super quick, but since out daughter is only 4 and honestly didnt even ask for one, we didnt look as closely into the power and ended up getting a 6v three wheeler that topped out at 1.75 mph. Needless to say, after the initial excitement was gone, she quickly realized it was slow as tar! So I hopped online and found this gem of a video that was just wat the dr ordered. I ordered a 12v battery and after minimal surgery to the chassis, her three wheeler is now up to par. THANK YOU!!!
Woo hoo! We have the Batman Lil Quad. Worked great! Charging up for our next round now...
We picked up a 12V 9Ah AGM battery from Batteries Plus and the wires and fuse at O'Reilly Auto.
CAUTION: Your kid will not want to get off after this mod!
Haha...awesome. Glad your little one is having a good time :)
Like the video except the beginning where you said this videos for dads. Single mom here upgrading my second little car 😉
Toxic feminism
Did this with my boys car runs beautiful, nothing is burning up! Thanks for tips!!!
Is it still good?
thanks. very helpful. one question please: I have a new 6 volt battery, will it be the same if I purchase another similar 6 volts battery and connect the two in row as having a single 12 volt battery? thanks
update: i did get second 6 volt 12 ampere battery, connected in row to its twin and is working great
Sameh Darawshi is it faster
connect the 2 6 volts in series and that will give you 12 volts. make it run faster
Wont the 6v eventually burn out? Will a 12v motor work better in producing the adequate voltage power?
Im sorry for asking this but y choose 30 ampere and how to determine ampere value?.
Should I change the 6v motors to 12v ones?
Any concerns with the wiring harness or motors melting when you double the voltage?
Not really. That is why I run a circuit breaker to control amperage. Also, don't run it on hills or in the grass.
How do you charge the battery?
Is the gearbox connected to just one rear wheel or to the both of them?
why do you need a 30A circuit breaker for a 12V battery? Isn't it overkill?
How can you be sure if the 12v battery wont burn the motor or the wires used for 6v?
Kapil Shahi
Just use fuse
I used your link to get the same circuit breaker, but I i st wanted to check first, that if I'm going to change and use a power tool battery on a power wheel dune racer 12volt is this still circuit I'd use?
Yes use the 30A breaker no matter what non stock battery you use.
@@HTMR thank you!!
Will i get tbe sme result if i conncet two 6v batteries in series?
I'm going to do this for my 2 year old. I might be stupid...do you still use the charger that comes with the power wheel? Thanks
Jake Williams Hi Jake. No I use this charger which does both 6v/12v:

Is this video specific to the Power Wheels brand, or for all ride-on toys?
It’s for all ride on toys. A good video to check out this: ruclips.net/video/5KcoaRCp0y0/видео.html. There is also a list of materials in the description
I know this is an old video but i want to ask how are u charging it?
ruclips.net/video/RvRiieWDJag/видео.html
Do you need the circuit breaker if you're using a power wheel battery?
I believe it is integrated into the battery top.
hey can you revive a 6v battery,, just like the one that came in your smaller quad? I've seen how to do the 12v batteries all over the internet but I haven't seen anything about opening a 6v up to add water. it charges up but it is super slow. I want to amp it up with 12v old peg perego battery we have but the charger isn't the same..what should I do, leave the wiring as is? and straight wire them to bigger battery?
Just replace the battery.
Hi , Can you tell me how to Recharge this Type 12V-12 Ah battery by using proper car battery charger ????

Thanks for the reply .
Can you have look on this modle
Bosch C3 6/12V Bosch
018999903M Microprocessor Battery Charger C3 for 6 V and 12 V with Trickle Charging and Memory Function TÜV/GS
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007K5OLDU/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_TSo0EbXWQF34A
can you use the charger that is already hooked up from the original 6v battery?
Also would like to know this
You replace the motor? Bcz i hace the same one and motor is not like that is a lot smaller.....
No
Did you keep the same 6 volt engine?
Yes.
How do you charge the batteries which you added to it?
Watch this: ruclips.net/video/RvRiieWDJag/видео.html
If you change the batter yo higher you will get the power but the motor is spec to 6v you will burn it out faster
Love your car! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
I converted a 6v 7.5Ah BMW i8 to a 12v 1Ah and it dies out after a couple minutes (assuming due to the breaker). How do I fix this
I'm positive it is because the 12v battery is only 1AH which is the amount of amp per hour it's rated and if you're using it in a power wheel which consumes way more than that then it is why it burns out quickly. If you get a larger 12v battery with a higher AH rating like 7 or more it should work great.
Hi I'm really stuck I have a lamborghini aventador 6v parental control ride on its a 6v battery and when my 2 year old got in it and I controlled it it was slow as anything would you be able to help can I change the motor and battery to 12v to make it go faster for my little boy it was that slow it didn't go up the path with him in it and plus I fully charged the car for over 10 hours lol please help someone
Aaron Whitlock I'm not familiar with that model. Is it slow when your son drives it and through the controller? How old is this battery?
www.amazon.co.uk/Licensed-Lamborghini-Aventador-Parental-BML52820/dp/B00HALU7GO that's the link if this helps what model it is I'm not sure how old the battery is because I brought this second hand and they didn't mention ,well my son got in it and I controlled it threw the remote controller because he can't reach the push pedal at the moment and when I go it doesn't seem fast it seems slow and I fully charged it for at least 10-12 hours , do you think getting a new battery for the ride on is worth getting or can I get a 12v motor and 12v battery and sticking it in will make it fast or you think the 6v battery is old damaged that's why it's not going fast
Aaron Whitlock It should go 3mph which is walking pace. The 6V models are not powerful at all. Might be a good idea to have battery load tested to determine if that is the problem. Or boost it to 12v :)
Okay thanks mate thanks for the advice 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks pretty easy, but won't it affect the 6v motor?
No
It won’t effect the motor immediately, but it will cause it to burn out soon than if you ran it just on a 6v battery. It could also melt the gears in the gearbox. Swapping out gearboxes and motors is easy, see this video if you have questions: ruclips.net/video/5KcoaRCp0y0/видео.html
All the ones i did ended up burning up the motor
Does the battery die fast after the conversion?
no
Do you only change the battery from 6v to 12 v and use a fuse?
Yes.
@@HTMR changed my batterie from 6v to 18 v its works insane my car moves insne fast 😂😂😂
i always wanted the pink power wheels barbie jeep when i was a kid &never got it..ironically my 1st car was a pink jeep but im still mad at my parents 4 not getn me the barbie jeep
lol
Are the wiring not to thin for 12v?
higher the voltage less amps are drawn. so technically. higher voltage thinner wire you can use. if it was built for 6v the wire is least of worries on 12v. most worry is the motor windings coating burning off over time from heat. dc motors are forgiving though. 6v motor can run on up to 24v without much issue.
if i put 12 v battery do i need to change the motor because overheating can burn the motor and wire and do i need to change the relay ?
I did not upgrade anything other than the battery and install a circuit breaker.
what circuit breaker ? or can i put fuses 15A
No fuses, because if they pop you are out of commission. Use a self resetting CB: amzn.to/1S7Mm9M
ok thanks .
Hi, home made 6v battery convert 12volt use sarkit
Do you know Brian Harper?
No, who is that?
Can you tell me what I need please to change my 6 v to a 12v thanks
Links to products are in video description.
My power wheels has a remote control mode also... and it is 6v. Can I just replace to 12v battery? The motor is 6-12v, it supports, but I am concerned about the digital board, if it will burn.
Not sure sorry.
i would not recomment it...20 buckd and you have a 24v elektromotor...easy switch...heat the gear of the old elektromotor so it will expand...then you take it of fast and put it on the 24v motor...assemble and you're ready to go
Elaborate please? Not sure anything you said made sense.
Buckd = bucks
Elektromotor = electric motor
Can I use three battery 12v to turn on a hub motor 250volt
Restate your question, not sure what you mean?
Ok thanks but .charger 12v or 6v ?
You’d need a charger that matches the voltage or the battery, so a 12volt charger
Excellent video! Answered all my questions especially the 6v vs 12v test run.Thank you.

Do you still use the same 6 volt charger?
@@PreposterousPodcast you’ll need to get a new battery charger. The original one has a different connection piece. They typically cost about $20. Search: 12 volt battery charger on Amazon
Why is the motor sparking when pushing the pedal after converting to 12v
They always spark because the
Of the brushes, I'm guessing the spark just became brighter
Great video!
So what if I wanted to take a six to a 24
I don't what would happen. Let me know...LOL!
is that a 450 in the back ground
It's an 01' KX250.
That things going to burn the 6V motor up. You need the upgraded 30,000 rpm motor and gearbox to upgrade these to 12V.
Hasn't burned up yet.
@@HTMR You're quite lucky because I upgraded my son's and my daughter's 6V power wheels lil' quads to 12V lithium batteries and the motors on both burned up the same day. I had to order replacement 12V 30K rpm motors and gearboxes and boy am I did because these little 4 wheelers fly now and they run all day long thanks to the 20 cell lithium batteries that I made for both of them.
@@bigtexas7580 lithium batteries have a much higher burst discharge, this will burn out your underspec motor quicker than a typical gel acid battery (like in the video) which has a much lower initial punch. So yes, if you use a higher rated lithium battery on a lower rated motor, you'll burn it in a day.
any motor problems ??
Nope.
What bout making it 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive? Ready go!!
i bought an audi tt rs which has an 6v 4.5ah battery...how can i see if the elektromotor can handle that voltage? help me out
I say go for it and keep it off the grass. Make sure to run a circuit breaker.
MatthewMCRepair i don't understand english that well...what's a circuit breaker? is that some kind of fuse?
It's like a fuse except it is self resetting: amzn.to/2id4qod
ugalde nothing but if you drive on rough terrain like grass the elektromotor has more difficulty to proceed...the fuse prevents the engine to overheat
Prangster VloggingHD I want to upgrade from 6v, to 24v, is that possible with the same motor?
I'm looking for a video that can show me how to use two 6 volt batteries in place of a 12-volt battery
Just run them in series. Would be better to just buy a 12v though
I'm a mom watching this just FYI.
Reverse polarity and it goes backwards FUN TOO
Nice chevelle and ass hammer(bike) in the background

Back wheels spinning at 12 volts
Solo la batería le adapto a la moto electrónica solo eso se necesita
Over 2 minutes in still nothing clicked out
nice car in the back ground
Thanks. I should do a video on it someday.
