I was at that concert. Wilson Pickett and the Marvelettes. I remember Barry getting booed when he walked on stage. Great concert.

A Classic Barry Richards radio aircheck. He then went on to become the Heavy Head stoner at WHMC - AM in Gaithersburg, MD.

I grew up in Rockville in the 60s' & 70's & remember his sows on WINX 1600 right smack in the middle of town. He took a lot of flack in the 70's for being a bit a of off the waller but we owe him big time for the great sounds that came from WHMC ,hell where else could hear full Lps on the radio. His show gave many bands a chance to break away from their gigs to come & play live on his show. He also MCd so many shows in the area he earned our respect even though he took a bunch of shit for being himself. If i remember correctly he was fired from WINX for saying The Supremes Put The Cream in my Jeans. Thankfully he went on to WHMC the best rock radio station our area had , even better than WHFS. I grew up on Congressional Lane right down from where the original Airport was.

Listened to him often back in the day. WINX was
"1600 on your radio dial. Move your hand any farther right and your glove box will pop open".
      Used to be Barry's schtick.

If only you started ten years earlier you would have been bigger than Freed and Murray the K combined. :-)
