I wish musicians made music like this in current times! 😢
It makes older music all the more special. I'll never stop listening to older music and when I say older, I mean 80" and older.
The Brother's Johnson was my favorite band during my college years. Louis inspired me to become a bass player. Don't sleep on the "Blam" album. The title track shows Louis was a an excellent finger style player too.🔥🔥
I love this group!
'I'll be good to you" is one of my all time favorite songs.
Thanks for Sharing that
✅✅ Yes Indeed. Mine Too!!! L❤ve it.
@@rustybear5125 YES!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This song is summer☀️
Which song is that?
Omg!!
I discovered this group back in 1974!
Bought the album at Pay n Save Drug Store!
Took a crazy chance!!
Look at where they went!
I’d never heard of them before!
❤️👍🏻🙏🏻🥰
Thank you for mentioning Runnin' for your lovin. Great underrated song with one of the best intros ever recorded!
Appreciate your comment
These are the guys I went to see at my very first concert. I'll never forget it!
Louis Johnson is the reason
i became a professional bassist.
RIP, Louis Johnson 🙏🏾
Brothers Johnson 4 Life 👍🏽😎💯
One of the best ever to sling a bass axe!
Him and Stanley Clarke are who Inspired me so very much
Thunder Thumbs and Lightnin' Licks! Rest in Paradise, Louis Johnson....
Rip Louis🙏🏽🤎✊🏽✊🏽🎸🎸💯💯💯👹🔥🔥🔥👄
They went to the shaw. They went to crenshaw high school with my aunt and uncle 68 to 72 and start touring after that .❤ they were a band even in school 🚸
If I remember correctly, Bootsy Collins considered Louis Johnson a challenge. I never realized Louis was THIS bassist!
R.I.P. Sir. You are, and forever shall remain, a legend and inspiration.
Why have we forgotten this great band of brothers?! They had the best funk and r&b sound of the 1970's. These guys were the best contributors of our current music sounds. Please remember them and give them respect.
There wasn’t much air play of their music on the AM radio stations in my area. That I remember. I do remember Strawberry Letter 23 being played, but not very much. Even “Stomp” wasn’t played too much. When I heard the song. I just had to get up and dance.🕺🏻🕺🏻
That last track ''Stomp" is the master piece check the video
they are legendary and will never be forgotten coming from a metal and punk head my god just listen to that bass
Thank-u for this they are so fly 🎉 ❤
You’re Welcome
I had they 1st 3 albums. Look out, rt on time and blam❤
Wow love this song
WE ALL🎉 VERY VERY MUCH AGREE.. 1970's 1980.....
Hey guys just to add a few comments of recognition of these guys talents..specially Louis..🫶wow what a bassist!! I saw them here in the UK in 79 and when he did his 5minute solo on stage he blew the house out..😱I felt his bass go thru my whole body..AMAAAZIN! That also may have been he played for MJ on OFF THE WALL..then later the iconic bass steps on BILLIE JEAN..yes he was that guy!! Extremely talented guy that had his struggles and found himself again recording an album called PASSAGE that he made with his Mrs n cuz Alex Weir..check it out..Have U heard the word has him at his best plus other trax.. He'll ALWAYS be up there for me as No1 along with Marcus just behind..but remembering his amazing technique n sound..🤗🙏RIP LOUIS..

I appreciate this upload, 70s baby here. I love these guys. Always have. My very favorite Brothers Johnson song is the underrated…I Want You. It was on the winners album. Lightnin Licks really shows out with Thunder Thumbs on that one. George’s guitar solo is fierce on that song.
Soooooo GOOD!
Man, thanks for the knowledge
Love the song.❤❤❤❤
I always wondered what happened to them.
Classic upper tier funk!!
😅 real Pioneers to the music world
Thank you for this video i am a fan of the Brothers J but i knew nothing of their instrumental talents & other "urban" songs......all these yrs later......Thanks again
No mention of the Brothers Johnson being introduced on the Quincy Jones album "The Dude" before they released their first album. That's when I started following them.
The Brothers Johnson were introduced on Quincy Jones’s “Mellow Madness” album 1975 before their debut release “Look Out for #1” 1976….not “The Dude” which wasn’t released until 1981.
Chat are these guy’s related to thundercat the artist bass player
💃❤️💃❤️💃
Always wanted to know the name of the girl dancer ( in red and then blue) in the video 'Stomp'...anyone knows?
I😂😅😢
