I gotta say for any guy at any age (much less 72 y/o) singing this song in the same key as the Beatles is worthy of high praise! Awesome dude and with fabulous backup singers/band to boot!!
@@rudolphguarnacci197 In this song they were backing BBC Radio DJ Mike Sweeney of the Salford Jets (1976-early 80s) who had three hits the highest charting at #72. So yes, for this song it is correct that they were backing him but he was THEIR guest at THEIR gig. It is a little disingenuous to the MLTs to describe them as mere backing singers. So when The Beatles accompanied Morecambe & Wise in 1963 on Morecambe & Wise's show would you dismiss them as mere "backing singers"? I wonder.
They are both Goddess, very beautiful women. They cover the best music ever composed, 60's, and 70's British Invasion music. There original songs are also awesome.
I just discovered the twins a few weeks ago. In those weeks, I have gone down their rabbit hole and not been disappointed once with the music. This rendition, however, is unbelievable! I was in no way expecting Mike to add so much. I've come to anticipate how good Mona and Lisa will recreate the song they are covering, but this guy Mike...WOW!! Kinda quiet and shy at the intro, then...goes nuts! Does a terrific job to compliment the girls' music. Great song, great rendition! Also, love the infusion of the old dancing video. Thanks for recording and uploading this! Peace...
That was beyond just pretty good. Great sound together on that track Mona Lisa gals and Mike. You haven't lost the rockin' excitement in your voice that this song needs to deliver Mike!
I love this!!!! This guy NAILS it!!! he's waited most of his life to get to sing in a band and here he is doing it at the origin point of it all. This band has all the pieces required and the girls are doing fantastic. I LOVE IT!!!
This guy is fantastic. Energy along with his talent....wow. Thankyou for sharing him Mona Lisa Twins. He has your spirit for fun and real entertainment and shows how to have a good time. The best. Cheers John ( Australia)
For this and many other beautiful songs of the Beatles, which I hear from my young age, precisely the year 1978, when I was 14 years old I started to listen to Beatles, and I never stopped, really are songs that will be heard by all generations.
Kudos to Mike for his great vocals & enthusiasm. Of course, the MLT are the perfect backup singers & musicians. Thanks for reviving the classics of the 60s & 70s.
I've got tears (of joy) in my eyes, and I'm a hardcore, '70's Rock 'n Roll (Zeppelin, AC/DC, Bowie, Neil Young, etc...) LIBERAL Boomer! LOL And I LOVE the special harmonies and vocal flourishes these ladies put on their joyful interpretations of the classics. Just found you stars today and I couldn't be HAPPIER! All the BEST!!! Muah! ;-)
You can just imagine choking to death from smoke at one in the morning in the Hamburg bar that the Beatles played in years before you two beautiful beings were born....
I haven't seen all the videos from the twins, but, every one I have seen are "top notch quality." I really enjoy these two women and their musicianship.
This is really good. Well done Mike. I remember you from your DJ days on “Capital Gold” Radio in the late 90’s when I lived in the Home Counties. Your specialist programmes of “Ready Steady Go !” on Friday nights, and “At the Hop” on Saturday nights were brilliant. Never knew you could sing like that though !
What a great pleasure it has been to find you two gorgeous talented girls singing lots of my favourite songs, I'm absolutely spellbound by your talents. I've just bought one of your albums and I can't stop listening to it. I hope that you both have a long and very successful career, Peter
Loved it! Mike really rocked it, he is as good as anybody that's ever sang this song! I just found the Mona Lisa twins and I absolutely love them! From Davenport, Iowa USA🎤🎸👍👍👍👍👍😍
An incredible lucky combination of still young MonaLisa Twins and Mike Sweeney who is probably older than MonaLisa 's Papa Rudi Wagner. His vigour on the stage makes this cover extremely good !
Fantastic cover of an iconic Beatles song. These twins Mona and Lisa are natural Rock N' Rollers and their talent is off the charts and out of this Galaxy and Universe. Keep performing you babes! Wow! What Charisma and Stage presence.
Would love to have seen one of these session. The cavern I suspect had a unique sound. This is real music. Not 50000 people in an open air sports arena.
Not sure how to explain this, but John Lennon had a certain sound when singing this song that you don't hear from other people when they sing this. Its a sort of rough edge to his voice (like the words flow over gravel coming up his throat) Mike seems to have a similar sound, maybe its the Liverpool accent. I love it, thanks Mona-Lisa twins and Mike
The reason for this is they recorded the whole album in one day day and John had the flu and this was the last song they recorded that day. His voice was in rough shape but of course it complimented the song perfectly.
Thanks for your reply, I had read that before, and John had a certain sound, more pronounced in this song for the reason you explained of course. Mikes voice (to me anyway) seems to have a similar edge to it which suits this song, cheers
Heh! I just watched the video where Mike Sweeney joined MLT to sing "Money (That's What I Want)", and at the end what jumped into my head was that the same combination would probably do a great job on "Twist and Shout". And then today RUclips showed me this video! Another excellent job. Looks like everyone was having a fun time.
That venue I've seen before, must be reminiscent of the 'Tavern' that the Beatles first gained their popularity in. Yes, this version is every bit as impactful as the original would've been back then, if the MonaLisa Twins had sung this in the time it would've had the same potential outcomes for them, the difference is that it took the 'Beatles' to pioneer this new kind of rock and roll, and I love that so many years later so many young ppl. also love that sound. That's pretty precious! So "shake it up baby' you sexy things, you make the world worthwhile for all men even though most don't realize it! 😜
FABULOUS! just what i have come to expect from the twins, another great cover to a great song and this guy singing was pretty damn good too with the twins harmoniously as his background singers, great job everybody, including the band, the beatles would be proud!
The first time i have ever heard a remake of this song with the same roughness and energy that the original had. And I'm not a Beatles fan... But they just did the Fabe four proud...
You girls are literally perfect performers holy shit haha. If you have any original music I'd love to hear it! Great performance for the band as well, great energy, but the guitars/harmonies are literally perfect
Hola. MonaLisa Twins. Son un gran grupo ❤ Qué bonita canción. Qué bonitos tiempos y recuerdos nos traen a nuestras vidas. Sus canciones hicieron historia. Son muy lindas. 💖🥰⚘👩🦰⚘👱♀️⚘😍💖 Son un encanto. 💗⚘👱♀️⚘👩🦰⚘💗 Felicidades para ustedes ❤ 😘🌹
This vocalist absolutely rocks and the backing vocals are also excellent.
And the instrument playing??? Oh yeah, that too.
I gotta say for any guy at any age (much less 72 y/o) singing this song in the same key as the Beatles is worthy of high praise! Awesome dude and with fabulous backup singers/band to boot!!
Backup singers?
After Lennon "shredded" it anyone who now attempts has to recreate that insanity/intensity.
@@lisareed5669
Yeah, they're back ups. George and Paul were backing John on the Beatles version. What don't you get?

Paul, George and John backed Ringo on Boys. What's disengenuous? A fact?
MonaLisaTwins the pearls of the Cavern.
Mona with her hair streaming in the wind from the fan - what a rock goddess!
They are both Goddess, very beautiful women. They cover the best music ever composed, 60's, and 70's British Invasion music. There original songs are also awesome.
Everything these ladies do just puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart.
They are so talented it makes me wonder how I got all the untalent.
I got the same problem, they make the world a better place.
Perfect face for radio but absolutely stunning performance Mike

I crank the volume on this song whenever individual 1 comes on tv.

love Mike Sweeney! His head shakes are brill!
Holy shit, this dude can holler! I have to think John was somewhere grinning like a fool at this.
They worked it on out.
Bloody excellent! And what a venue! Cheers!

MLT live at the cavern club! Wow!!!
How could anyone dislike this?
This truly great,Mike was spot on and the twins and band are tight, thanks from the US
I love this music and what I find more amazing is these tribute bands play this music that was hip before they were born!
You sounded great Mike ..... and obviously so did the twins .... I wish I had of been there!
Excellent, excellent, this has surpassed me, for me, they won the podium of music, Jorge from Buenos Aires, Argentina😄👍👌🏆🏆🏆
Loved it! Mike really rocked it, he is as good as anybody that's ever sang this song! I just found the Mona Lisa twins and I absolutely love them! From Davenport, Iowa USA🎤🎸👍👍👍👍👍😍

This is a brilliant version off this song and the way this video was put together.
MIKE ROCKS. LOVE IT
This is what music is about!Fun and happiness
Simply outstanding.
Fantastic cover of an iconic Beatles song. These twins Mona and Lisa are natural Rock N' Rollers and their talent is off the charts and out of this Galaxy and Universe. Keep performing you babes! Wow! What Charisma and Stage presence.
The Beatles actually covered this song. It was not a Beatles original.
Mike, I hope it was worth the wait, it was awesome for us!! Thank you SO MUCH!
Would love to have seen one of these session. The cavern I suspect had a unique sound. This is real music. Not 50000 people in an open air sports arena.
This one really rocks. Fantastic job by Mike and the Twins
Great lead vocals from Mike Sweeney. Rickenbaker sound from the ML twins note perfect as usual

We need an reenactment of their first concert. Mona played the drums and was the lead vocal. It was the evening that made the MonaLisa Twins stars!
Excellent, Monalisa Twin The Best
Big hug for Mr Sweeney, sung with passion and with true Beatle spirit. Oh, and the girls and the rest of the backing band were ok also... lol.
That's frigging awesome. I can't get enough of this vid
Imagine this 53 years... ehhh 56 years earlier, it's the SOUND!!!!
Sooooooooo much talent 😘
Just found this video. Absolutely fantastic performance by everyone. Cheers from Honduras 🎉
Mike did an awesome job. He gave it his all just like John Lennon would. I think John would be proud of this performance.
Mike Sweeney has a great voice!
Yeah but I would preferred a female voice to this Beatles cover.
Wow! Love the MonaLisa Twins! Brilliant! You Killed this song, Love it!
You guys are fantastic! You all blend really well together. A truly awesome rendition of this song!
Quality song quality band brilliant! more please

Why the fuck do legends have to die :(
I don't know either, but the thing is, that's how they become legends.
I understand he put everything he had left into it, and strained his voice so badly, he couldn't talk for about a week afterward.
He was excellent! well done
Quando elas virão ao Brasil ? Ninguém se habilita, certeza de casa de show cheia.
I really like Mike and I REALLY LOVE MONA and LISA!!!
Fantastic performance!
