The curtain dropped and they went right in to Suicide Note Part 2 and the whole fucking place went nuts Only two times I thought I might die at a concert. I live in Columbus, Ohio and unfortunately was at the Alrosa Villa when the massacre happened. RIP Dimebag and the other innocent people from the show, you live forever in my heart. This video is bittersweet, but it's nice to see him live on in his music. I went to hundreds of shows at this venue and after the event, the owner suffered many years of financial losses and finally put it up for sale. He was also sued into oblivion by Dimebag's family, it was a tragedy in every way. Weirdly I suffer milder PTSD from this event than I do from a worse event I witnessed. Guess life choices matter lol.

    And they were just 4 guys on stage... no keyboards or backing musicians. I was lucky enough to see them live once in 2001, and Pantera was untouchable!!! One of my best concerts ever - Pantera/ Slayer/ Static-X/ Skrape/ Morbid Angel... and 20 years later, Dimebag & Vinnie of Pantera have passed away (and so did guitarist Jeff Hanneman of Slayer, Wayne Static of Static-X, and Jared Anderson, the bassist/ vocalist of Morbid Angel at that tour 😪)

  • @FFNOJG
    @FFNOJG Год назад

    Absolutely so much fun to watch you experience this, and the genuine joy I could see on your face from the solo on. It's funny because this song in reality is backwards from most songs in that you try to get the "hook" (not the chorus, but like the attention grabber to keep first time listeners listening) in the first minute. which in a way the part where the first riff ends, and it kind of opens up into that little "da dununununuh" that starts at 1:07 kinda is that, but the real grabber is the solo, and the breakdown. The difference is though that the hook in this song is so badass it keeps listeners coming back for more and more listens. like you said anybody who listens to that breakdown is compelled to headbang. I've listened to it a hundred times, and I still immediately start head banging. it would be an impossible challenge. Dimes haunting little "solo" or riff in that breakdown still gives me goosebumps.
    the songs title, and your channels title are both very accurate. the song dominates, and your reaction was cute.

    This song is one of their very best. My favorite album of theirs is actually Reinventing The Steel, from 2000: "Death Rattle" is every bit as killer as this song too, followed closely by every other track on the album. You can most definitely play and bang your head at the same time like that...I speak from experience, as a rhythm guitarist in a garage metal band in Seattle back in the early 90s. I was surprised at how fast it was easy to learn to do (if you practice), and how much certain crowds in bars enjoyed it too...that made the live performances the best part of it all, to me.

  • @williamwolter5393

    I remember hearing a classic interview with Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich in which he commented on this concert that when Metallica took the stage as the main headliner later in the day that he estimated that they played in front of roughly half as many people that were there earlier in the day when Pantera took the stage at 2 in the afternoon. Recently I read an article from Revolver written 30 years to the day of this iconic show and it stated.
    " On September 28th, 1991, Pantera played one of the most legendary performances of their legendary career: the groove-metal juggernaut's iconic set at Moscow's Monsters of Rock, the first outdoor rock festival ever held in the former Soviet Union. Going on well before headliners Metallica and AC/DC, the Texans took the stage in front half a million fans (and hordes of Russian military police) and stole the motherfucking show. "
    At the age of 13 I attended my very first concert which of course was Pantera not to long after this show and have been A fan ever since and of course after finding this song (hands down my all-time number one favorite) among your reactions, instant subscribe and like. Your reactions have become my choice to watch as well as your musical journey channel by far is amongst the greatest to enjoy. I listen to all kinds of music but, it seems the musical revolution of 90's of rock, metal, rap, and grunge seems to be forgotten with the younger generations of today. Words cannot describe the range and variety of concerts I ended up attending from the mid to late 90's. You do such an amazing job of preserving so many legends of that most epic time, that to see you react for the first time takes me right back to my reaction to the first time hearing the same songs being played on the radio or even seeing the video on MTV (yes MTV actually played music videos and played them all day long everyday)
    I guess you just had to be there. To those that were, well then you all already know.

    Dimebag and Big Vin were Texas gentleman that we lost too soon. "We're not here for a long time. We're here for a good time" Dime had an infectious energy that made you feel welcomed, and had the chops to hang with anyone in music. He didn't just play it. He new every note up and down that fret board. It was a dark day in metal when he was taken from us. But he lives on his catalog of music.
    Floods will go down as one of the greatest solo's ever recorded.
    Fuck it
    Lets go pour us a blacktooth grin in his honor

    Love watching these reaction videos. I enjoy reading the expressions and getting the younger generation involved in our past is amazing. And you have an amazing accent.
