That’s paying it forward 👍👍

@Jim Dandy Don't think twice, tell him.
This is the best tribute to anyone that I have ever heard. I never get tired of listening to this. Rest in peace, Sir Sean Connery.

Me too.
I haven't seen Mike Myers do a presentation before. He salulted Sean with his sense of humour but with high class. RIP Sir Sean Connery
Yes Mike Myers made a fantastic speech. from a funny overview to something personal about connery, mike and mikes father. great arch of emotion
Truly heartfelt and grand. 👍
He's actually done a bunch. But this is by far the best and biggest tribute he's given so far!
Sean Connery is dead?!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
@@darz_k. No, a legend never truly dies!
I was sad too. To me, he was an actor who left a surplus - one that will only ever increase
Knowing that Sean Connery just passed away makes this clip way more emotional to watch RIP Legend

Legend indeed. Typically when a celeb passes, Im "meh" - but when Sir Sean Connery passed - I was gutted.
i think all the woman he hits in his live are happy...
And that is how you pay tribute to a great actor. Well done Mike Myers.

Mike Myers, maybe the most underrated comedian in the history of planet earth.
Damn, you have your comical tastes up your ass. If he is the "most underrated", you truly are a dumbfuck.
Yo dudd for reals lloll
Absolutely! Mike Myers is the best. Love him but I don't see him much anymore....
RL R calm tf down
@@LASR71 Whew, lighten up, don't get so excited.
Connery's expression at the end tells you all you need to know.
Zach Stevenson even the most manly and godly among men have hearts and humility.
I think he was a little choked up. As much as Sean Connery will allow.
Perhaps Myers' tribute left him shaken Brad - but not stirred.
Cool to see that kind of honesty from an actor and a peak behind the red velvet curtain of his personal life :)
Connery also having a sense of humor when they showed the ZARDOZ photo.......a true professional.
“I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne. Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky.”
RIP Sean Connery 🙏🏽
Great line! Great Movie! A great actor!
By far the greatest Indiana Jones movie, he was hilarious in it too

hahaha I laughed way too much with this. well done. RIP legend
That's just to far man, that's to far
I think I enjoyed this waaaaayyyy too much. *wipes tears* 😂
I must say, this was an absolutely brilliant speech by Mike Myers
His paternal grandfather's parents were from Ireland
Every Scottish name has a Gaelic translation mine is MacantSaoir.
Scots and Irish back in the day had weekend junkets. But they both agreed they hated the English..lol My Grandmother was from Glasgow but her last name was Connelly......there you go. Great Grandpa was chillin' with the Irish lass.....
Cliff Riley Me and my Irish mate from Sligo used to go to this Irish pub in Tooting London way back in 1990, there were only Scots and Irish in it because the English just were not allowed. If by any freak accident and Englishman should wander in he would be in big trouble. It would be like an American soldier draped in the American flag strolling into a Taliban or Isis strongehold.
Sensational
Till now I've never taken the actor, who played Austin Powers seriously, but after seeing this video I realise, how actually well educated, dedicated and well spoken guy Mike is. Truly turned my opinion about him upside down in 6 minutes.
he's a brilliant actor/commedien, check out So I married an Axe Murderer, so much fun
Pfffft. You need to see him in Inglorious Basterds. Some of his best acting yet soooo little screen time.
@@dougmcmillan2483 That's a rare gem. Good call.
That's what makes him a comedic genius.. being able to make such goofy movies such as austin powers & shrek and still be his true normal (non actor self 😂..!!)
It's his dad from Liverpool who gave him his sense of humour and love of comedy and the British. He has always come across as being a humble person aware of what has gone before him. Most comedians are deep thinkers otherwise they wouldn't be able to create what they do.
Oh dear, when he remembered about his Dad, and that he wished he was there, it choked me up 😢 and I think Sean was holding back the tears for his own Father 😭 God bless all Fathers, especially those long passed, like my own Dear ol' Dad 💔 (from Liverpool, like Mike's)xxxx
Here, here! I agree. And Mr. Connery was definitely moved by Mr. Myers’ introduction. This was class with a garnish of comedy.
When he remembered his dad and that he wished his father would be there, I got choked up and I think Sean was holding back tears for his own father.
Donald Duck bless all fathers, especially those who have passed, like my own dad.
I am from liverpool, like Mike Myers.
I had to fix it.
Mike spoke truly from the heart, he wasn't just giving tribute to Sir Sean...he was talking to his dad as well. Pure class Mike, your old man would be so proud of you.
Mike Myers needs to host the Oscars
hey!! never thought of that..but thats a brillant idea!!
Mike Myers needs to host the Oscars .. You have a good point there.
Mike did a fantastic job here, honorable and also entertaining.
Nah.... Oscars is for dislikeable actors now.
This audience at AFI was filled woth legendary actors but Oscars nowadays is terrible.
Hell yessss!!
I like watching the Oscars and if they ever asked Mike Myers to host, it would be an awesome show
Probably the classiest award presentation speech I've ever seen.
RIP Sir Sean Connery 1930-2020
.
As Harrison Ford said: "Sean Connery you gave us the world".
.
Which he did.
.
From "James Bond" to "The Name of the Rose", from "Indiana Jones" to "The Untouchables", from "The Rock" to "The Hunt for Red October" and many more iconic roles.
.
One of our most favourite and beloved actors of all time.
.
RIP Sir Sean 🙏❤️📽🎬
I mean no disrespect, but I always remember the old joke (very), about Sean seeing Billy Connolly and saying "Billy, you're a shite... for shore eyes!"
Read the above in Seans' voice.
5:04 "On Any Screen" that will always be true.
Thank you Mr. Connery.
The tribute was genuine and heart--felt, Mike Myers mentioning of his father at the end really touched Sean Connery, you can tell Mike Myers was pretty emotional at the end also, twitching his fingers, he was holding back tears. If you watch Sean Connery's acceptance speech, on his way to the podium, he stopped by Mike Myers and said a few words to him, and patted him on his shoulders, that tells you how much Sean Connery appreciated what Mike said. Well done, Mike!!
Damn. That's the way to properly give a speech honoring someone. He's the best.
Mike or sean is that 🤔..??
Sean looked genuinely moved by some of the nice things MM said. 🥺 Great speech!
Probably one of the best tributes to an actor I've ever seen. Mike nailed it with his honest personal delivery, and even during the humor and the poking-fun, one could tell it was done with love and GENUINE respect.
Well done Mike Meyers, and for the rest of us, RIP SIR Sean Connery. Actors like him come along once in a generation. Glad I grew up when I did and got to see his work.
I have to say, this is the most touching tribute I have ever seen.
Check out Ving Rhames and Jack Lemmon award. That will make ya cry!
Amazing speech down to earth enough to be sincere but also funny enough to keep the audience entertained
Mm-HMM.. GOT THAT RIGHT 👍..!!
you can't do it much better than this. funny, touching and classy. you can tell Connery liked it too.
That was a real tribute... humor but it was from the heart
It’s such a clever, witty, not-in-your-face funny but genius and heartwarming tribute. I applaud you, Mike Myers. I saw this speech four years ago, and I get the same feels today.
Aww, Sean even got teary near the end, so sweet.
Not even long ago but look at the level of award shows back then vs now. Much more respectable.
Now that's a speech. And of course a hell of a tribute. Well done, Mike. The best part about this is the way Connery responds to him. Sure he's funny, but the jokes are appropriate and totally on point.
R.I.P. Sir Sean Connery
I'm at a loss for words with this speech. It was just....simply amazing in every way.
No profanity just a great, positive tribute. My respect for Mike just sky rocketed because he nailed the generational link who this great actor has effected. Thank you both
He is a writer first.
i actually miss Mike Meyers being around too. we need comedy...the current stuff isnt cutting it
That was a bloody dam good speech!! Sean had a tear in his eye at the very end .. being compared to someone’s father is a high accomplishment and he looked proud and sad that mikes father couldn’t have watched it with him …
Probably the best speech of this kind I've ever heard/seen. Heartfelt, funny, confident, well-delivered, sentimental, etc. Mike Myers is an ACE!!!!
Mike is always a stickler for detail both with word of mouth and action by example. He is authentic. He even got the kilt colors right. Great job Mike......
The colours might have been correct but it was well short....a man’s kilt sits just below the kneecap, not above it!
Sir Sean Connery is truly a legend. The anagram was the icing on the cake. "On any screen"
My father looked just like you Mr. Connery.
Bless you Sir.

My favorite Mr. Bond. R.I.P sir♥️🌹✌️🍻
Yeah, he was my dad's hero too and mine as a kid watching James Bond which my father introduced me to. Yes to a lot of us, Sean Connery's films especially James Bond, we remember our fathers.
So true. 😢
My dad would let me stay up with my younger brother to watch* James Bond marathons.
This was such a classy tribute dedicated to a world class actor. And you can tell that Sean Connery had enjoyed every single minute of it. Thanks to Mike Myers for opening up one of the best AFI tributes ever. RIP Sir Sean Connery.
Somehow comedians always give the best and most heartfelt speeches
Brilliant speech.
this speech was amazing, the right amount of humor and professionalism. hearing mike talk about his dad and how he passed before he could see the austin power films almost brought me to tears. and as a huge austin powers fan myself, seeing how mike tied his dad and his success with a.p. to sean connery was done so effortlessly well.
Mike Myers is such a genuinely funny human being. This speech is both beautiful and hilarious.
+SethBlizzard That is such a kind of bitchy little comment.
Perhaps, but it is not incorrect.
It's as simple as a 4th Austin Powers movie.
Love Guru wasn't bad.
I agree. But it didn't make enough noise or money and if I were MM I'd veg for a couple years and recharge my self. I'll bet he's working on a script and a new character.
A very fitting tribute.
How did these not make a movie together. Phenominal ✊🏼🇬🇧
Mike Myers, for as a big of a goofball as he can be, was truly HUMBLE, saluting Sean, in honor of his Dad..............
As a Scotsman.. I'm so proud of them both.. that was beautiful.
What a tribute! 👏👏
My mom bumped into him in Vegas. She was taking coins to get counted and bumped into him, spilling her bucket. She said "asshole" before she saw who it was. As she looked at the man, who was dropping to his knees to help pick up the coins, he said "I'm terribly sorry". She recognized the voice and froze. It was Sean Connery. He was kind and helped pick up every coin before apologizing again and insisted on paying for their dinner. Classy
That sounds completely like the truth to me.
I'm English and I have nothing but respect for this great great great man.
Scotland is very proud of her son and I salute you Sir Sean Connery.
That was and will always be one of the best introductions of Sean Connery.
Myers' delivery is perfect
you can see the greatness in sean connery, when he can laugh at a parody of his most famous role and sees it as the honor it truly is.
rest in peace mister bond, james bond.
Sean Connery Holding back the tears towards the end 😢 Very moving. & the Classic line from Mike Myers has to be : - " My man crush deepens". ⚠
Can see how much Sean loves Mike.
I'm not really a fan of Mike Myers, but damn, this is one amazing, funny, touching, and entertaining tribute from him. Great work Mike! In his later years, my father looked very much like Sean Connery, so this hits home on a personal level just a little bit too. RIP, Sean (and my Father).
Today is not a happy Halloween nor a scary Halloween. Today is a SAD Halloween.
R.l.P. Sean Connery :(

My god. I’m only now discovering this on October 31st, 2020... the day we have lost Sean Connery. The man, the myth, and now a legend. Rest In Peace.
But this is by far the best tribute I’ve ever seen and it hurts even more knowing what I know now... bless Mike Myers. He smashed the feels into oblivion.
Why do young people have a need to type which date they are commenting on?
I see a lot of young people do it, so I just have to ask.
“My man crush deepens.”
This was a really GREAT Speech... I have a whole new respect for Mr. Mike Meyers.
My all time favourite speech. Myers nailed it and Connery's reaction says it all.
Man, I miss Sir Sean Connery.
That speech was as brilliant as it was unexpected. And moving, too ... as Sean Connery himself found. :)
Rest in Peace, you bloody legend!
I love Sean Connery, but I love this just because of Mike Myers. He's genuine and very funny!
I've watched this about 20 times. STILL FUNNY. R.I.P. brother.
I was driving in Toronto recently (near Kennedy Road & Lawrence) and passed by Mike Myers Drive in Scarborough. Good job Mike. You made Sean Connery smile and laugh. Your Dad would have been proud.

“Double Oh, Behave!” What a nice tribute to Sir Sean! Pure class. So Old World. Come back Mike… you’re the best. Yeah baby!
I know where Mike Myers is coming from. My mom and dad both passed away before they saw me become successful in my chosen field. They saw the start of it, but at times it hurts they missed seeing the best of it.
Why? we're all headed for the same fate. Doesn't matter what you achieve in life, because at the end of it it doesn't count for shit.
Richie, are you a proud graduate of the "Ray of Sunshine Troll Academy"??? Sounds like it.
They may not have seen it but if not for them you would not be who you are. Take solace in that my friend :-)
They are seeing you and very proud for sure. If you think of them in this way, you certainly became a person to be proud of.
Who can tell if they can see your success nobody knows...if they are still in your thoughts they exist they are still part of this world through you....
What a beautiful tribute, funny, joking and then heartfelt reference to Mike's father--not a dry eye and even toughman Seans eyes getting shiny. THIS is how to do a tribute what a great job Mike Myers.
This was absolutely Fantastic. Well Done Mike. And It's an absolute joy to see the Best Bond Actor ever Sir Sean Connery.
Oh so well done. Humor, Honor & Respect
