Mr. Connery....you are the real 007...everyone else is just copy....god bless you sir...you are indeed a legend...
Such a handsome, wonderful, gentleman. He gave credit to others and gratefully accepted the award. Prayers for his family. God bless you. 😘🙏🏼💜
Such a versatile actor. His range of accents was unparalleled. He ranged from posh Scottish all the way to.......er....posh Scottish.
Sean is irreplaceable.... Long Live this Legend.
Sean Connery is THE only James Bond who plays the role with perfection..More than that, ,he exudes class, humility, and so cool without trying hard.
"I'm more than pleased that you like my work. I have to admit it looked pretty damn good from where i was sitting."
Damn right. This man was so much more than James Bond. Forever one of my favorites.
The Oscar award was so lucky that it was once received by Sir Sean Connery..
Very well said! 👏🏽
From China: Sir Sean, you have no idea how much impact your character and your movies have on our generation. You brought us hope, knowledge, charm, wisdom, dignity, respect and all the positive energy that one could strive for in life. We honour you and shall miss you forever. Rest in peace. Love you forever
He was 74 here and seems older than that due to illness at the time. True absolute legend and admirable he accepted to attend.
Do you know, what it was that he had at the time?
@@NiVi192 Chronic pneumonia issues at the time.
@@rushmore3927 Oh beautiful! 😣 No wonder speaking was so exhausting for him! Do you happen to know how people get chronic pneumonia? I know that it usually starts with a bacterial, viral or mycosis infection, but how does it still get chronical in the 21st-century (for a person with access to top healthcare)? Just out of curiosity.
Sean Connery is the man to look up to both in fantasy and it real life God bless you Sean and remember your movies were great
Ah, how I love that straightening of the jacket and tie after the dance. :)
Sir Sean Connery, I am glad to see you get recogniced in this huge way while you are still alive. The AFI are not the only ones that love your work. Thank you, so much.

I agree it is a fantastic speech. I also know that he is quoting his book when he refers to his big break and childhood, I am reading it currently and I recommend it.
"Life is good; but isn't the third act SHIT?"
Love you, Sir Sean!
I believe he meant when you die.
***** Growing old sucks.
Janne S Better grow old than die young, I guess
He meant growing old.
no....he meant aging.
Look at Mike Myers at 5:44. You can tell he just loves that man. Me too, Mike. Me too.
They give these things to everybody it seems. Few deserve them, but Sean does.
Not really, the afi is the highest honor in the movie industry even bigger than the oscars
It just seems that way because there's tons of great actors around.
Total badass, perfectly spoken and poised speech
Sean Connery was a Legend.
Watching in 2019
I dont want this legend to die . Of course he's very old nowadays you dont expect what to happen later , but this man , sir sean connery , is absolutely a beast!
I watch this now and then. Such poise and eloquence this smart gentleman had. I'm saddened by this loss as a friend would be. Rest in peace, sir Sean. Say hi to my dad who was the biggest fan and made me one. Your movies will always be a dear reminder.🖤
I am happy to say that I was able to read all of Ian Fleming works at the age of 6 because my uncle had them on his book shelf. There is only one James Bond and that is Sean Connery.
Wow.. what a collection of books..!
I loved him in Finding Forrester too!
