Nope, not just you. I went straight to the flu episode and re-watched to remember what amazing things our cells do and how we need to take care of them because they fight so hard for us. The tension on this 2 part finale was really well done. Made me realize how much of a shitstorm losing a lot of blood is better than any film I've ever seen.
I was waiting for this review for so long! Hemorrhagic shock is such a good finale for a series where a red blood cell is the main character. Never know how important something is as when you lose it!
It's not superstition if it's true. Seriously. Once, in college, I went to get breakfast at the student center only to find it locked for the weekend, realized I'd forgotten my key back into the dorm, and it was raining. The *instant* I asked myself if it could get worse, it rained *harder.*
Well, you don't lose anything by not tempting it. It doesn't restrict one's lifestyle like some other superstitions. I don’t know why, this series always makes me so emotional. Maybe life outside of the body will be full of people who will let me down, but I know my cells will always be working their hardest.
PLEASE WATCH THE LAST EPISODE!! Your commentaries are so good and interesting and educational, especially for a highschool senior planning to pursue biochemistry in college..! I learned soo much from your videos!!
Oww I got so emotional with these two episodes, can't wait to see your reaction to the last one. By the way, I'd like to make a suggestion: since we are all so fond of white blood cells, how about making a video about autoimmune diseases? :)
Thanks for a great video yet again! Can't wait for the conclusion to this one! Two translation notes: 1) the use of "shock" in "Sorry to shock you" is specific to the translation, as in Japanese she says (I believe) "Bikkuri sasete gomennasai" which doesn't relate in the same way to the Japanese medical term for shock which is just "shokku". 2) the same goes for the term" overpowering " as in Japanese he simply says "sugoi" meaning massive or impressive in this case.
Man, I'm begging you to finish this series before S2 starts airing in January. I really love your reactions to this anime and I enjoy learning about the actual science behind these physical processes. You've left me on such a cliffhanger with 1 episode left to watch
Those two episodes are some of my favourite in recent years. I tear up every time I watch them because of how attached to the characters I've become and the new appreciation to our bodies they give.
Hearing Dr. Hope relate the daily struggles of anthropomorphized anime corpuscles to his own past experiences as a medical student is always entertaining.
Dr Hope whenever you get to the next episode I think you're really in for something special. And as a bonus, I heard recently that next year we'll be getting more of Cells At Work. In the meantime, thank you for sharing your knowledge and enjoyment with the internet!
Got to LOVE cliffhangers! Also the moment you said, "Of course, an ad break!" an ad totally started playing! Massively enjoying watching you watch this series. Really happy that this anime is actually teaching, but in a way that us simply people can understand a bit better, while also making it fun and interesting! I hope you will do season 2 when it finally comes out.
Anders Mostue yes but a fall in general does not cause a "Chasm" or an "explosion". And they wouldn't be worried about pathogens if the skin wasn't broken
I have been looking forward to when you were going to react to the last two episodes, Dr. Hope. :) I love these last two Cells at Work episodes so much despite the fact that they make me very emotional because of what's happening. Those last heart pounds at the end of the episode makes the cliffhanger really brutal and I was glad that the entire season had aired otherwise the suspense might have killed me. However these episodes hit close to home in a way for me. I work at a small hospital so we don't normally get these types of major traumas. Still it's always nerve racking as a laboratory scientist whenever a doctor calls the Blood Bank phone requesting emergency release for O Neg units because a patient is bleeding badly or a Stage 1 Maternal Hemorrhage where we potentially have a mother in our OB wing at risk of bleeding out trying to give birth to her child. Also what you said about the "Quiet" word is absolutely true. XD It's just asking for trouble when everything is going right. Plus combining "Quiet" with a full moon can sometimes foreshadow either a weird night in the hospital lab I work in (aka we get specimens we don't normally see on a daily basis) or an extremely busy night in the ER and the tubes containing STAT specimens are dropping non-stop.
So in case you haven't heard Cells at Work just had a second season announced, on top of that Cells at Work: Black will be having it's own anime. So you are in for quite the treat my friend!
6:23 "Of course an ad break!" RUclips plays an ad Me: Oh how clever Also that germ you see in 4:31 is some sort of dental bacteria. Which one I'm not sure, but it was referenced in the manga I believe.
This episode and the one coming after it were what I had been waiting for since the start of this review series. Easily the two best episodes of the season. That last shot in this episode, with the usually crowded hallways completely deserted and the heart pounding in our ears...
Most of the things we've seen are technically minor enough we wouldn't think about them. There's been maybe 3 or 4 events that have been bad enough to be noticed? A few colds throughout the year. An allergic reaction to pollen, heat stroke and major haemorrhage. Most of the infections cleared up extremely fast so they wouldn't have been noticed. The cancer thing is pretty normal in the body from what I'm aware. Etc. Still bad but not quite as bad as it seems
It wasn't so much that White Blood Cell was looking at her lovingly, it was more like he was proud of her; she's now able to guide a newbie around, and she's doing so much better. So he's happy to see her doing better.
An educational show that's also entertaining? Beautiful. A doctor who can help us understand the little things in said entertaining educational show? Brilliant.
I thought the blood pressure thing at 7:35 was in reference to how when the injury first happens the body senses a drop in blood pressure in the area (bc the blood is flowing out of the body), so it sends more there to compensate. This just ends up causing more loss of blood. In a minor wound it's good, as the blood will help flush the wound from the inside, pushing out bacteria or whatever, but in a major wound it can kill you. At least that was what I learned in 11th grade biology 😅
I think Cells at Works takes an approach where, if the body hasn't experienced something before, it won't know about it much or at all. Hence the business looking people being more worried about infection than blood loss.
So I just yesterday started watching this show (even watched it in my mother tongue which is rare for me, since my english vocabulary is just not sufficient for such specialized medical terms) and, despite how well this show explains things, I still didn't quite get the workings between the cells, so I found this channel and got into the habit of following up each episode with the corresponding reaction which helped A LOT and contributed very much to my enjoyment of the show. Long story short, I'm looking forward to you uploading the reaction to the next episode and reacting to season 2 as well, and I WILL be watching! :D
I hope you will continue with their sister series, "Cells at Work: Black," where they shift the environment to an unhealthy body instead of the current one with the relatively healthy body.
Hey Doctor! I know you are busy with all the pandemic going on but could you please review Hemorrhagic Shock part 2? Please please please? I am literally twisting with anticipation!!! Thank you!
I'm SO glad you're back at this series! These episodes gut punched me on a narrative level, so I was mad interested in what you'd think of it on a medical level. Definitely looking forward to part 2!
I know a lot of people think the relationship between Red and White Blood Cell is romantic, but to me it just seems like they're best friends and enjoy seeing each other grow in personality and are proud of each other for their achievements
Yeah, I didn't necessarily think specifically of medical work as much as jobs in general - especially considering the rather harsh work culture prevalent in Japan. "Cells at Work: Black" is named this way outright referencing "Black Companies", a jargon term used to refer to companies that have shady work practices, unsafe environments, etc., so really, the entire parallel is always with any kind of work environment IMO.
Hope you soon come back to watch the last episode of the season! Late joiner but still a fan none the less! I really enjoy getting tonlearn even more of the indepth work they put into this show. As a bio student, I've gotten to use some of my knowledge, but its great to see just how much detail is throughout the series!
Ohhh I missed you so much!!!! I was waiting for your Cells at Work's reaction videos since 5 months ago I'm a medical student from Argentina and your videos helps me a lot! Next Friday I'll have an exam. Wish me luck! I'll be waiting the second part!! See you doc! ♥♥♥
Man, this episode and your commentary hit home for me. The last person who screamed at me at work was because I couldn't get an IV on my hemorrhagic shock patient :/ (it was the patient's daughter who yelled at me) And as you said, it's near impossible to get any IV access on someone who is peripherally shut down. Thankfully, we managed to get the patient to ICU juuuuuust in time to be properly managed and resuscitated, and the patient lived. Whew!

Oww I got so emotional with these two episodes, can't wait to see your reaction to the last one.
By the way, I'd like to make a suggestion: since we are all so fond of white blood cells, how about making a video about autoimmune diseases? :)
We won't live enough to see it.
Yep, that's how stuff goes.
Love to see you really emotionally attached to this series doc. All of us feel the same thing when our favorite anime come to an end
Man, I'm begging you to finish this series before S2 starts airing in January. I really love your reactions to this anime and I enjoy learning about the actual science behind these physical processes. You've left me on such a cliffhanger with 1 episode left to watch
Akane Shimizu(creator of “Cells @ Work”) did a great job on this original story with factual information on our body and its functions
Those two episodes are some of my favourite in recent years. I tear up every time I watch them because of how attached to the characters I've become and the new appreciation to our bodies they give.
Help us Dr. Ed, you're our only Hope.
I've never seen an upload so quickly at 7 seconds! Also never clicked on a video so quickly. I absolutely love your videos!
The most logical thing I've heard someone say about how this body is hemorrhaging is that they've been shot
In the head?
@@vitoriadias7990 no, in the pinky toe
I always believed it was a stab wound
THEFIRE360 hemorrhage can be anything that causes bleeding. It can be a fall as well
Anders Mostue yes but a fall in general does not cause a "Chasm" or an "explosion".
I literally just binged your reactions today before work. The last ep was five months ago, and this one released today. Nice.
OMG I was waiting so long for this!! Never clicked so fast on a RUclips notification!!
Same!!! 😁
Same here!
IKR
2:58 am in Brazil and I'm Happy to se this video was released 💜
me too haha
Finally you’re backkkk. Been waiting for new reaction 😊
Yay! New episode! This is one of my favorite episodes in the season. Despite how dark it turns out.
I just binged watched your reaction series yesterday, so this is such a pleasant surprise!
lucky! i've been waiting months T_T
6:23 "Of course an ad break!" RUclips plays an ad
Me: Oh how clever
Also that germ you see in 4:31 is some sort of dental bacteria. Which one I'm not sure, but it was referenced in the manga I believe.
Yes finally! I never have click the link to watch a video so fast as today.
This episode and the one coming after it were what I had been waiting for since the start of this review series. Easily the two best episodes of the season. That last shot in this episode, with the usually crowded hallways completely deserted and the heart pounding in our ears...
I feel bad for the poor person who's body this is. They've had a heck of a year
I wonder what happened to the poor guy where he got a traumatic head injury. Car accident? Falling?
Most of the things we've seen are technically minor enough we wouldn't think about them. There's been maybe 3 or 4 events that have been bad enough to be noticed?
A few colds throughout the year. An allergic reaction to pollen, heat stroke and major haemorrhage.
Most of the infections cleared up extremely fast so they wouldn't have been noticed. The cancer thing is pretty normal in the body from what I'm aware. Etc. Still bad but not quite as bad as it seems
That focused face on the end of the episode expecting more but CLIFFHANGER! "Nooo!" Is what we felt too.
You were on the edge of your seat. "We'll have to check out the next episode soon." It's been over 8 months. Where is episode #13?
It wasn't so much that White Blood Cell was looking at her lovingly, it was more like he was proud of her; she's now able to guide a newbie around, and she's doing so much better. So he's happy to see her doing better.
YAY I MISSED THESE! ♥ don't leave it on a cliffhanger you have to hurry and watch the next episode soon lol
Hello, fellow Miranda! ^_^
@@mirandabee2323 ayyyyy :)
I love this two parter. Looking forward to your take on the next part.
Dr. Hope: "Love between your cells? We dont do that here, chief."
Jk, I love your videos, man!
@RuA Honey Badger i see you're a degenerate of culture as well
Can't be incest if one of them literally has no DNA.
Dr. Hope: Anything that activates them is asking for trouble.
My brain with totally mature humor: Kinky!
Doesn't this video make ur neurons get all kissy kissy lmao
I want to see your reaction to the last episode and how think of the series as a whole!!! Please do the final Part 2!!!
the cliffhanger is the reason i mentioned watching the final 2 episodes together
Omg I JUST finished the cells at work reaction playlist and was wondering where the last episode went
Here you are!
Ahhhhhhhhh I’m so excited you’re back ☺️☺️☺️
The red and white blood cell had a cutesey childhood flashback together, they're practically soulmates now in anime terms.
忘れた頃にホープ先生
英語わからないから何言ってるかわかりませんが、雰囲気を味わってます
I hope you will continue with their sister series, "Cells at Work: Black," where they shift the environment to an unhealthy body instead of the current one with the relatively healthy body.
Hey Doctor! I know you are busy with all the pandemic going on but could you please review Hemorrhagic Shock part 2? Please please please? I am literally twisting with anticipation!!! Thank you!
April 2020: Still waiting for the reaction to Episode 13 of Cells at Work
Cpl. Rook I know...Actually I don’t mind waiting since I know every country are struggling with this pandemic...Hope we can win against the virus...
4:45 - 4:46 IT'S PLAYING GOLF! what white blood cell did that get stolen from?
15:00 Anime Weebs And Otakus: ...he is now, one of us....
So glad to see you’re still watching this series = )
I would love to see you do an analysis of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
I'm SO glad you're back at this series! These episodes gut punched me on a narrative level, so I was mad interested in what you'd think of it on a medical level. Definitely looking forward to part 2!
"An easy way to remember it is it's similar to how tennis is scored"
*me, a viewer who doesn't watch sports* "uh ... ok?"
I love that tennis reference so much, it's so useful! Also, props to finding that video to help explain aha
I know a lot of people think the relationship between Red and White Blood Cell is romantic, but to me it just seems like they're best friends and enjoy seeing each other grow in personality and are proud of each other for their achievements
YESSSSS. I have been waiting an astonishing amount of time for you to react two episode 12. Episode 13 I recommend watching as well
4:00 I thought that was the nature of having a job.
1:55 holy cow I watched this entire episode and never made that connection, spot on analyses dr.hope 👍
Fastest click on any video ever. Thanksfor continuing the series!
I've never clicked the like button so fast in my whole damn life
Dr Hope: *screams at the cliffhangers*
Me: *Me being a decade weeb* Lel.
Relatable.
I was waiting for your Cells at Work's reaction videos since 5 months ago
I'm a medical student from Argentina and your videos helps me a lot!
Whew!
