I'm so glad to see the legacy of Homeworld carried forward by those who truly appreciate the value of it's mechanical uniqueness. This is not the same, it can not be the same, because an evolution isn't incremental improvement. Between Era One, Sins of a Solar Empire 2 (an iterative improvement it seems) and Falling Frontier, Space RTS is entering a new glorious era.
I'm speechless... This is like a hybrid of Homeworld 2 and Starsector in one, with bits of Factorio thrown in there too. This absolutely destroys Homeworld 3 in practically every single way. Complex Mod for HW2 was already legendary as it is, and ERA ONE is looking like it could very well be one of the greatest Space RTS Games of all time. Wishlisted Immediately. You guys have already proven yourselves with the Complex Mod as is. You have my full support on this game. I pray for your success!
i hope there will be a homeworld mod for this. i can already see there being workshop ships themed as such. that space moba tech demo isnt a homeworld game. its an ip skinwalker of some trash space game they want undue profit from, so put the hw name on it.

Neat. We like ant colection effect of drone mining and salvage. And even this feature may not appear in game but we imaging about one big ship break to multi smaller ships to fight or runaway and re-group to one big ship again after fight.
Wishlisted. I hope that the ship customization will be very detailed. I love games that give you the option to choose between a lot of modules with different purposes. Maybe even modules that affect or change how weapons work. Stuff like that. Oh, and of course performance. Performance is very important
This game looks really interesting, if not overly ambitious. Definitely going to keep an eye on this. With salvaging/mining being a huge aspect, I hope there is a button I can click to just have units automatically collect whatever is nearby. I always felt the camera controls and movement in general was very awkward in Homeworld, I hope this game is easier to control I never could get a hang of the 3D movement and how you had to constantly adjust the camera (and with the right mouse button of all things) I like the camera systems in Starcraft, C&C, and Company of Heroes. I also like the economy system in all those games. I believe simplifying the economy aspect while maintaining good unit control can make an RTS game less niche.
strange how strong the fps differences are sometimes with almost the same scenes but think that still because of “in work” but looks really “finished” in parts! and unfortunately some of the sound effects seem a bit “cheap” or let's say “flat” but that can still be “wip”

This looks AMAZING My only concern is performance, looks like a very deep game made with love, but the trailer shows it lagging at different points, this will probably be a big thing on launch as it is even with AAA games, not a huge thing for me since this still looks a very ambitious game! Instant buy for me.
@@jetstream01 Buzz off. I've played HW 1, HW 2 and HW C dozens of times, I've played Complex over 5k hours over the years. I waited 21 years for HW 3 and we got half functional, DEI filled garbage.
It looks like you may want to lean into the ship/base building more over the fixed units. Even if those small warships were made of a few segments it would add a lot of variety.
From my Observation, the performance with once bigger fleets and wreckages will be the make it or break it point. hope you guys get everything out of unity.

Unfortunately this is the conclusion I drew as well. Complex mod is probably where I spent most of my hours in Homeworld and I was really hoping they'd make a mod for HW3 as well.

Looks great. How positive reinforcements in research would be balanced out? Someone winning would get much more debris hen the losing side, so would get better technologies.
Things "I" miss from nearly all RTS today (except paradox games) - Multiplayer Save option ..... and best combined with variable Game Speed in single AND Multiplayer ... so all player/groups can play at the speed/peace that he love
This looks like someone was paying attention to what Homeworld 1 and 2 put down, and then took those concepts and innovated to produce something next level. Count me in.

Looks really interesting. Like others are saying HW3 seems to be quite the let down. Great timing for you! Wondering of the modular ships could get skins of some sort to not look so haphazard? The levels could use some spice in the form of backdrops or in system dust clouds etc. But overall the game, ships, combat, looks great. Oh I know it states a "clear UI" (or whatever it said) but it seemed pretty overwhelming? Hard to tell without playing obviously but at first glance I was thinking "wow thats a lot" but again just a first impression. Can't tell without playing. GOOD LUCK!

Lets wait and see if this campaign is reasonable longer than the one of HW3.
It will be interesting to see what form of campaign, an indie game like this ends up with, but I think its focus is more of a sandbox approach

These types of games need a pilot module where you can fly 6DoF ships, FPS on foot and have PvE or PvPvE on top of the RTS.
