Fun fact: This game went through development hell for years, and was on the verge of cancellation. The producer virtually begged Bandai to let them finish because they cared so much. If they can pull something like this off with all those problems, I can't imagine how great the next one will be.
And, as a Result, Ace Combat 7 is the most successful game in the franchise in terms of sales 'm really glad Kazutoki Kono managed to get this game greenlit

When I was 8, I played Ace Combat 4, I've been an aviation addict since. I'm 20 now, started my first job as a pilot (Flight Instructor) a few months ago. I'm so stoked to play this. Feeling so nostalgic right about now.
I too was training 3 years as a private pilot, but I gave it up cause school and work were getting in the way. Logged a fair amount of hours but never finished getting the license.
Jealous life never sent me the same direction... First I played was Ace Combat 2, And I often went for flights in my grandpa's Cessna 172. Followed that with playing flight sims on their highest realism settings and learning to control aircraft having failures. But the cost of flight school was the problem.
Cheesy, melodramatic, and a bit sassy, backed up with some great music and visuals. Ace Combat is back to its gloriously corny roots, and I couldn't be happier!
I couldn't be happier to be back smacked in the middle of Strangereal. The last time I was was during the Emmeria-Estovakian conflict in Ace Combat 6, not the best in the series with Strangereal itself. This felt like a love letter to the ardent fans to why they lovecAce Combat in the first place.

You could give ppl photo realistic video in 8K running at 200 frames a second and they would still complain the the graphics are poor. Old school gamers know gameplay comes first. if it looks good, that’s a bonus.
I’m a massive ace combat fan. I even enjoyed assault horizon for what it was. I think a lot of the non CGI closeups we see of the aircraft in these trailers does lack a good bit of texture and interactivity with the light environment. Looked a little off. A lot of that is on viewing distance though and once you’re airborne I doubt it’ll make much difference. Either way. Can’t wait.
Exactly we old school know the score we want real games new gamers just want fortnite with loot boxes cuz that’s what games have become changing the point will this game have any micro transactions in it or can we actually you know play the game to upgrade and unlock better gear and planes haven’t looked into ace at all really

I hate how most studios forgot to put passion in their games like project aces has done with this. I will remember this game (and this franchise) for the rest of my life, just like every metal gear solid game. I you make me feel a wide range of emotions like that, i will never forget.

The true Aces are each one you play in the Ace Combat series and in Shattered Skies where Mobius 1 WIN THE WAR JUST BY ITSELF "I think you refere as him" the others pilots are just like ... well normal pilots but sometime one contry as a squadron of Aces like the Razgriz Squadron which as I saw while playing is rare and the exceptions like Pixy,Swordman SPOIL:Who joined the Razgriz Squadon. @@Resinless-ov3sr AC4 may be my favorite. Blaze is more lucky than he is skilled. So I don't put him on the same level as Cipher or Mobius. People always forget about those two. Personally, Mobius 1 is the most skilled Ace.

@DaH8ter I get both of you're points. The F-4 took on the mig-21 a vouple of times in Vietnam. And the F-15 might've faced it once in Iraq but I dont remember. But either way, the F-4, with good pilots beat the mig. Pitting it against anything more modern is just suicide. But those F-4s had at best 6-8 long range missiles. Not 80 standard generic and 20 special missiles.
Lucky Suryajaya It probably depends on the console, typically. For example the normal PS4 struggles with 4K but the Pro runs it pretty decently. Hell you can even do the ‘supersampling’ mode and still get a stable 60fps provided the devs don’t lock it at 30.
The second game i ever got for my playstation 2 was ace combat 4. The first was a power ranger game... i was 5. Ace combat got me infatuated with aircraft and air combat and sims. My favorite by far was Ace Combat Zero. Perfect amount of story, combat, characters you cared for, and the reality of war. CANT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON ANOTHER ACE COMBAT GAME ITS BEEN TOO LONG

I’ve played this game 12 times through and it never ceases to give me chills and make me cry tears of joy. Project Aces is probably one of the most underrated game developers of our time and goddamnit shows. Cheers to you Aces and may you Dance with the Angels once more!
It would require a super huge budget and lots of clearance for any real jet action, unfortunately. CGI and models might be good enough, but I don't think it would come close to Top Gun. Top Gun 2 might have a budget of over 100 million$$
Ingredients for Ace Combat movie: all the cheesy classic clichés and cringe-inducing dialogue, $400 million worth of CGI aerial fleet action, each aircraft bristling with 120 missiles, a crazy backstory of how they built the Arsenal Bird in mid-flight, and its vengeful commander with a silly name like Baltus Malinko who wears an eye-patch and plane's landing gear as a leg prosthetic.

Have never played an Ace Combat game- Hell, I've never even played a airplane/flight-simulator game, but for some reason this trailer makes me want to.
I wish this was coming sooner, but if the delay meant a more polished and overall better game on my PS4, then its worth the wait. I'm freaking excited!
I've always been interested in the Ace Combat games, but never had a system to play them on. Bought this as soon as I learned of its existence, and I love it. Absolutely. You can feel that those who made it really love aviation. The plane models are gorgeous, and I love how the game forgoes realism when the game benefits from it. It's the much better game for it. Realism =/= great game. Also, the soundtrack is all kinds of amazing. I've been itching for a non-simulation plane game for a while, and this is just perfect. The only two gripes I have are the cheating enemy aces and the fact that the story is often hard to follow due to somewhat disjointed story telling, but the cutscenes are great and quite emotional. Amazing game overall!

The moment of the trailer may or not be a reference to farbanti but lore based it's taking about drones.

@DaH8ter I get both of you're points. The F-4 took on the mig-21 a vouple of times in Vietnam. And the F-15 might've faced it once in Iraq but I dont remember. But either way, the F-4, with good pilots beat the mig. Pitting it against anything more modern is just suicide. But those F-4s had at best 6-8 long range missiles. Not 80 standard generic and 20 special missiles.

Considering they changed engine to UE4 + Simul, that looks good. Achieving stable 60FPS with UE4 on consoles is hell of a job.

Lucky Suryajaya It probably depends on the console, typically. For example the normal PS4 struggles with 4K but the Pro runs it pretty decently. Hell you can even do the ‘supersampling’ mode and still get a stable 60fps provided the devs don’t lock it at 30.

The second game i ever got for my playstation 2 was ace combat 4. The first was a power ranger game... i was 5. Ace combat got me infatuated with aircraft and air combat and sims. My favorite by far was Ace Combat Zero. Perfect amount of story, combat, characters you cared for, and the reality of war.

I’ve played this game 12 times through and it never ceases to give me chills and make me cry tears of joy. Project Aces is probably one of the most underrated game developers of our time and goddamnit shows. Cheers to you Aces and may you Dance with the Angels once more!

It would require a super huge budget and lots of clearance for any real jet action, unfortunately. CGI and models might be good enough, but I don't think it would come close to Top Gun. Top Gun 2 might have a budget of over 100 million$$
Ingredients for Ace Combat movie: all the cheesy classic clichés and cringe-inducing dialogue, $400 million worth of CGI aerial fleet action, each aircraft bristling with 120 missiles, a crazy backstory of how they built the Arsenal Bird in mid-flight, and its vengeful commander with a silly name like Baltus Malinko who wears an eye-patch and plane's landing gear as a leg prosthetic.

I'm back for my hourly viewing.
I've always been interested in the Ace Combat games, but never had a system to play them on. Bought this as soon as I learned of its existence, and I love it. Absolutely. You can feel that those who made it really love aviation. The plane models are gorgeous, and I love how the game forgoes realism when the game benefits from it. It's the much better game for it. Realism =/= great game. Also, the soundtrack is all kinds of amazing. I've been itching for a non-simulation plane game for a while, and this is just perfect. The only two gripes I have are the cheating enemy aces and the fact that the story is often hard to follow due to somewhat disjointed story telling, but the cutscenes are great and quite emotional. Amazing game overall!
