I loved Mad Honey! My daughter is transgender! I hope this book helps to create a safer more inclusive world for my sweet shy daughter! I fear for her safety! I love her so much! 🥰 Thank you for talking about it!!
I love the Storygraph. I moved over from Goodreads a few months ago specifically for the content warnings. I was going through something and needed to avoid a specific topic. I am so grateful. I would love to do a buddy read! I agree some of the navigation is confusing, but I find it well worth it for the features. And I bet they will continue to improve the UI.
Your timing with this video was perfect for me as I just started using Storygraph this past week. I had signed up and imported my Goodreads library a long time ago, but then never used it. This time, I am doing it differently and I’m so excited. I deleted my whole library and started fresh. Now I will use Goodreads to track everything I read (including all the books I read to my son) and I will still use Goodreads (mainly) to track my TBR because I have loads of shelves set up there. But now I can use Storygraph to track just the books that I would count towards my reading goals (no picture books and such). This will give me clear stats on my personal reading and goals! I look forward to listening to your podcast episode about this. I’m also now wondering if Storygraph would work better than Discord for book clubs. . . . As I like the way Storygraph is set up so much more).
I'm on my third and last book that had a firm deadline at the library this month and then I hope to go back to reading by whim. I'm in the middle of The Last Party by Claire Mackintosh I'm working on her backlist right now. I just received my preordered copy of The Favorites today so this is what I'm most looking forward to starting next. I also ordered One of the Good Guys as per your recommendation (needed to get that free shipping!). Seeing you pick with the help of Storygraph was fun. I am using their app as I love their stats feature.
Great vlog! I'm a new subscriber enjoying all your reviews. I've used StoryGraph for 2 years but haven't used newest features yet. Will explore them soon. Thanks for sharing your experience on StoryGraph with your audience. I read Mad Honey and really liked it. When you mentioned pairing it with a non fiction, I thought you were going to pair with "honey" or "bees." I immediately thought of The Honey Bus by Meredith May which taught me so much about bees and I was captivated by Meredith's journey and rated it 5 stars. Mentioning it in case you are ever in the mood for something like that.
@@SharonAshby-z1g oh thanks for that rec! My husband loves bees/honey and I’ll definitely pass it along. Or maybe I’ll read it and catch up to him, he probably already knows 😆 thanks for being here!
Yes, yes, yes! Would love to try the buddy read feature with a BTE group.
@@jaynehunter-ar done.. need to find a good one to do it with!

Oh I wish all of the best for her! This book did a great job building empathy for members of the community, imo

Yes!! She said they’re continuously working on improving things. I forgot to mention the content warnings… such a wonderful feature
A buddy read would be so fun on StoryGraph! I love that feature, but only used it once in 2024.
