I am soooo jealous of your collection. As a library girly too, i love it when people highlight the possibility of borrowing books instead of committing to a purchase. I started reading in my junior year of high school (2 yrs ago) and I am slowly getting more and more obsessed. You are my favorite booktube person. i've actually considered you one the moment you posted about books on yt shorts so dont sell yourself short (bad pun intended). I love your content because our reading tastes are very similar. though im not big on horror or thrillers, i am opening up to them because of you. Im so happy you talk about gideon the ninth because its my favorite book/series so far. please continue to post and take your time too. ill gladly wait for anything you post ❤❤❤
Hi!! You have great taste in books! For the last couple of months since I discovered your channel I've been listening to your recommendations and I found so many new favourites! You are also definitely one of the creators that inspired me to start my YT channel so thank you and I hope to see more videos from you! :)
Emotional support clipboard!! It was also an essential part of playing pretend as a kid (had to look OFFICIAL). I'm so excited to be here (and to watch more RUclips content from friends like you, too)!
Hello and welcome to BookTube! I enjoy making long form audio reviews/essays. I'm an avid horror book and manga reader, but I'm open to other genres as well. The gear I use as follows: 1. Audacity 2. Final cut pro X 3. Canon Vixia RF 600 4. Tonor Q-9 USB mic 5. Amazon basics tri pod 6. My phone( for notes and shorts) apologies for the essay of a comment but nevertheless welcome to BookTube! 😊❤📚
Thank you and thanks for sharing! Not an essay at all. :D Love meeting other horror lovers!! I did initially use Final Cut Pro (not sure which version; this would've been when I was in middle school and early high school). Then I switched to Sony Vegas Pro because I was on a PC. Recently I've been using Capcut for short form and long form (because I'm only making simple edits nowadays), but if that's banned I guess I'll find my way back ... somewhere? I did just send off two old Canon cameras for trade in! Once that quote comes back I'm excited to pick out a new camera so I don't need to do everything on my phone. And I DEF need a new camera tripod so it's helpful to hear you like the Amazon basics one.
Hahaha - I definitely think another fun part of longer content is that I get to share more about myself versus just sound bites of my opinions on books!
Hi, Steph! I'm looking forward to hearing about all bookish things you want to share with us. From an oldie content creator to a newbie, welcome aboard. We're so glad to have you here!
Hello and welcome to book tube. I’m still pretty new to all this malarkey and finding my way around too. Look forward to hearing what you have to say. Best wishes with what you choose to read. Happy reading!
one of my fav underrated gems is A Face Like Glass by Frances Hardinge - it's technically a children's book but it's so incredibly layered, with complex characters, beautiful writing, and a fantastical, absurd world. it made me so emotional and i was so immersed. definitely recommend! also im so glad to find another great comet fan :)
YAY thank you for the rec! I'll have to go look it up. I like reading children's books every so often (I actually read the first book in the Moomins series last month & it made my heart happy). I used to nanny and reading to kids before bedtime is one of my favorite things in the world. I have so many great comet trinkets, haha. I should put my egg shaker on one of my bookshelves!
I have been struggling with making my bookshelf cute and now that I am buying more paper books, I really want to just buy another to finally get that aesthetic zoom background... And the color coded shelf is just a dream!
Haha the Zoom background is KEY! My former boss used to always ask people with bookshelves in their backgrounds if they had actually read all of those books. And I would always get to say "YES!!".
i’m so happy i stumbled upon your channel! i am a theatre kid and am obsessed with musical theatre. i would also like to diversify my reading and what better way to do that than reading books related to my favorite musicals! i also prefer to read with a cat snuggled on my lap 😂 i look forward to more of your recs and booktube videos 😊
Thanks so much for joining me here! :D It's so fun to reframe book recs in new ways, because sometimes I'm feeling slumpy or uninspired, but other hobbies & forms of storytelling spark my interest again and bring me back home to books. The purring is the best part. Lil vibration massage while you read!
I've seen some of your shortform content on here, but as someone who really prefers longform, I'm looking forward to seeing more of that from you! I really appreciate your recommendations. Also, shout out to Animorphs as a formative childhood book experience.
Thank you so much! I agree - sometimes my brain is spinning after consuming too much short form content in a row. It's nice to spend a longer time listening to someone (I'll put on RUclips videos like little podcasts when I do chores). I keep thinking about doing an Animorphs reread ... I wonder how dark it feels to me now as an adult horror reader haha!
I've been wanting to make the switch over but I don't know how well I can edit and kinda scared I won't take off. I love your content I'll definitely support you.
Thank you for supporting!! I feel like RUclips is a slow & steady game (most of the time) versus hoping for viral success that will launch your account on other platforms. Maybe just try to keep it simple - sit and chat and answer the newbie questions? Then all you have to do editing-wise is cut out any big pauses or double sentences.
Ive been following you recently on instagram and now I find you here! Yay! My husband was most impressed by the casual mention of clown school :-) For a book recommendation in 2024 I LOVED How We End by LM Juniper. Excellent horror, apocalypse story with fab representation. I found it on Kindle Unlimited and when I finished had to go buy a physical copy from their website to keep forever! Looking forward to more of your content and recommendations, Im happy to find someone who maintains their ethical stance while recommending books!
Thanks for joining me on RUclips! I truly need more reasons to casually bring up clown school ... it's a conversation starter if nothing else. 🤭 How We End sounds super cool! I just added it to my want to read list.
Good news for Kyle -- The other books in the Poppy War *are* getting collector's editions! Dragon Republic releases in late June. No info for Burning God yet, but if it follows the same timeline, it'll be early 2026.
HA hopefully that is good news and not "uh oh, now I've gotta buy two more special editions" news. ;) Thanks for sharing! I also initially thought/assumed they were releasing all three at once, so we were both pretty surprised.
i’ve always been a youtube girl and im so excited to see so many booktubers over here too! ❤
The books from your grandmother are gorgeous 😍 I love old hardbacks 🥹

Thank you so so much!! That really means a lot to me. I'll definitely check out your channel. :)
Just yesterday I watched your favourite books of 2024 short and was hoping you'd post more long form videos again! Welcome back Steph!
Thank you so much! Happy to be here. :)
Ok first of all I am also a clipboard girlie. Love a clipboard lol. Second: this is delightful and I am so excited to see more from you over here!!

Thanks so much! I suppose I'm sort of a blend of oldie & newbie, but I'm happy to return 'home' to RUclips.

I follow you on Insta as I don’t have a tiktok. I love your short content but I am excited to see what you do with longer form content!
Thanks so much for coming over here with me!

Hi it’s me!! I heard mention of leaving paragraphs in the comments and I was summoned 😂

26:16 DINOSAURS!!
DINOSAURS!!!
Wait, are you like real life Matilda, then?? 😅💕
I posted my Newbie tag as well! I followed you on TikTok so I’m so happy to support you here as well!
I follow on Instagram, so goodluck on starting longform! 💕
I'm also a physical reader as a visual person. My skill to consume audio is pretty bad.
