New York City Solo Travel Vlog & Itinerary | NYC Cafe Hopping, MET, Greenwich & Brooklyn

- This was my first time taking a solo trip, and my first stop had to be New York City! I went ahead and put my Itinerary that I attempted to follow below:
Friday (Upper Manhattan/Midtown)
6:30am - Depart from airport
9:00am - Land in LGA NY
10:00am - Coffee shop/cafe run in UWS
11:00am - early check in to bnb
12:00pm - pizza at Mama’s too
12:30pm - Picnic/ stroll through Central Park:
- Rent paddle boat
3:00pm - Back to air bnb/hotel
6:30pm - visit the MET & MET Rooftop Bar
- Book tickets in advance to skip possible line
9:00pm - Head to k-town to eat and explore
- The Maze, Karaoke, Kbbq
Saturday (West Village and Greenwich)
9:00am - Wake Up
10:00am - head to Greenwich
10:30am - visit Friends Apartment
Explore the village
11:00am - Visit Maamat Cafe in Greenwich
12:30pm - Visit the Strand Bookstore
1:00pm - Washington Square Park
- Vendors, music, artist, picnic
4:00pm - Visit MacDougal Street for Food and Drinks
- Comedy Cellar, Cafe Wha?, Food, live music and plenty of bars are located here
- I recommend going to Comedy Cellar for live stand up, but reserve in advance
6:00pm - catch the sunset fairy to Brooklyn bridge
** if you are there during the summer, be sure to catch a movie under the bridge
Sunday - (Times Square, Soho, & Brooklyn)
9:00am - Visit Times square/midtown
Visit a hot dog stand, visit Empire State building/the edge, etc.
11:00am - Visit SOHO for shopping & coffee/breakfast
- Luxury brands, zara, pacsun, etc.
- Breakfast @ Nomo-Soho (Fancier aesthetic, no bottomless mimosas)
2:00pm - head to Brooklyn Flea Market
4:00pm - Brunch at Verde
- Bottomless mimosas
6:00pm - Explore/relax until Cafe wha?
8:45 - Cafe Wha? (make reservations)
- Underground Live music/events located on MacDougal
Coffee Shops: The Monkey Bar (Harlem/UWS)
Hungry Ghost (Greenwich)
Maman (Greenwich)
Felix Roasting Co (Soho)
Devocion (Brooklyn)
Other coffee/cafes:
Plantshed (UWS)
Cafe Lalo (UWS)
Cafe Reggio (MacDougal)
Saturdays (SOHO)
Culture Espresso (Midtown)
I'm planning a solo trip to New York in May can't wait I'm a loner so solo travel is ideal I enjoy my own company and doing things at my pace it's been scary thinking of traveling alone and I've been debating going to Europe but thought I should start with a US solo trip before going international all these solo female trip vlogs are inspiring me so much.
you can also take a train ride to DC, free museums all day. FYI.
It’s definitely intimidating at first but once you go on your first solo trip you’ll fall in love with it for sure!!

Noting down all the places you ate at! I think taking the time to practice being by yourself is an amazing thing. And eating alone, let alone traveling alone, is something lots of people won’t do.

Cool video. My daughter loves solo travel. She just went to London and Germany and had a blast but it's cold right now. I haven't been to New York since I was a kid. Time for another trip.

Hi! Thank you so much. This was my Air bnb in Harlem (I can’t remember the exact street) but there are a lot of neighborhoods built with these types of homes in NY! They’re called brownstone homes.

Did you take the subway to these places? How was it taking it alone? I’ve never been on the subway but I’m going to NY in December and I kinda wanna try it but I’m also scared to get lost lol
Yes I did!! I was also so nervous to take the subway, but it’s actually very easy! If you have Apple Maps you can put in your destination and it’ll tell you exactly which subway line to take, how many stops, etc. I think google maps probably has the same feature.

So you stayed by yourself in an air bnb? How was that experience? Was it better than a hotel or did you feel kinda scared at all?
I did! It was cool, I was scared at first, since I was only renting the room not the whole house, so the owners actually live down stairs lol but they were great! I definitely recommend booking something with a lot of reviews and reading through them if you are going solo!
