I'm a Canadian, who lives and dies with Lacrosse. On a trip to Ireland a couple years ago, I found out about Hurling. And I really liked what I learned and saw. Funny how Hurling is so close to Lacrosse in it's history. Both born from native culture...both were almost lost because of a colonist view that it needed to be surppressed...both are growing. I'm also a huge fan of how the GAA is structured. If all pro sports were played and managed in that fashion...kids all around North America would be playing the sports they love, at no cost to them and their parents. We would be a much healthier place. Awesome job, great video. You have a newer fan, in myself. If you make it up to Calgary...let's have a beer.
Fantastic effort, David! Really great to see how it's growing over there. Seeing some nice growth over here in Germany too. We managed to field 2 hurling teams and 1 camogie team for Hamburg GAA at a tournament earlier this year. One of the lads moved to Cologne recently too and has kickstarted their team. Taking over the world :D
Hi I'm from cork and 11 and start for my full back for my club as u may know every county has their own style of Hurley does north America have their own style
There is a cyc ( continental youth championship) every year where under aged teams play each other in a huge tournament in a different location every year. This year there r 219 teams going the biggest there has ever been . The Irish culture is growing especially around NY Yonkers!!!!
George Muller no idea what you've talking about. Just had 15 days in The West Coast and enjoyed everything and everyone there. Hope you feel better, cheers!
Best hurling team is Rauri Og's / Cushendall it's where I live but can u teach how to swing on a ball correctly because I have been playing for 5 years and can't hit the ball. My coaches said I don't swing my wrists help!
It's a Star Hurley from Kilkenny. This was filmed before all my ash hurls broke. I've switched to Reynold's and Cultecs since. Ash just dries out and breaks too quickly in the heat here.
If they can make Disc Golf and Ultimate professional...It'll maybe make it to semi-pro in 20-25 years, but that's a big maybe. And why would they want it to become professional? Why can't we just enjoy and play something for free?
Great video again . Your a hero David, would love to see The Gaa take notice of what youre trying to do for the sport. Thanks for your hard work
Now you’ve gotta do another round up north Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee and the like
so hurling in the USA is just like junior b hurling in Ireland

I have added boiled linseed oil (found at any Home Depot) on any ash stick. It helps from drying out.
