Thanks for all the great videos, today is June 9 and I’m going to get my 2002 5.3 and 4L 60 E transmission for my build found a wrecked truck that is running and driving still 1200 bucks 168000 miles ,your videos have definitely help me so much I’m a big fan, my goal is to have my project at LS fest this year
I wound up stripping the entire thing and just wiring the starter and PCM so I can drive around for now. At some point it makes more sense to start over.
That splice on the red wire looks factory. I know that on my 81 Camaro there is an extra red wire down on the starter solenoid that feeds through a second terminal on the bulkhead connector. Half the fuse block wont get power without this.
@@chrisnicholson72 I've seen it a few times where someone swapped the under dash harness to a newer one either to add gauges or other options or just to replace the old glass cartridge fuse block with the newer blade style fuse block.
The Driveway Engineer just looking at mine I have the top power wire hooked up and one under the starter wire is hooked to 12v and that one T’s off and has a wire going under the truck
I'm putting a 5.3 into a69 c10. Stock harness. Stock fuse block. I have a wire from A9 (ignition). If I connect to battery the fuel relay clicks. A sound comes from I think the injectors. I can jump the starter relay and make it turn over. Won't start. Any suggestions?

Hey, thank you for watching!
My goal is to make LS Fest as well! Hopefully I see you there!
One of the few reasons I just threw a carb on mine lol. Great vid!
Quick side note: you should get a power probe. Theyre invaluable when diagnosing electrical problems!
Carb? Ew... 😂
this is why i just spent the money on a complete wiring harness
Yeah, 800 bucks on a harness isn't going to happen here lol.
3:52 You probably know this by now but the coil power wire on points trucks was a 'resistor' wire.
I think the ignition wire going to the ignition coil had a resister in it. I just ran ignition circuit directly out of the ignitiin switch.
It does on non-hei stuff
This helped a little bit. I'm having problems with my C10 swap as well. I really need help.

@@TheDrivewayEngineer I am a wrench and a fabricator not an electrician. I have had 4 people bail on the job.
Looking good bud can't wait to see you rip that thing
Nice Rats Nest you got going there...
Nice Bro way to trouble shoot!!!

Since my truck was originally a 3 on the tree, I think they did some creative workarounds for the clutch and NSS
My 82 truck was that way, i could get the motor to start but everything else was dead

Chris, that's where I'm at now, no lights, nothing but crank and start lol.

Pull codes, get a scanner on it, check fuel pressure... Could be a million things
Thanks. It was way too simple. Ground to the fuel pump. Feeling kinda dunb, but really happy. Fired rite up
could be because there is no ground on the box?
It was the NSS being jacked up
What a nightmare....
Neutral safety switch
Doesn't exist on this truck
