Thanks for the freeze drying demos. Keep 'em coming!
30 hours for the jalapeños.😊❤️🙏
I saw another youtuber take thier bones after making stock and then freeze dry and then grind to make bone meal for the garden. Have you guys tried that? Might be a fun way to stretch the bones from all the meat y’all are canning. Make that stock first though and can it up! You could even freeze dry the stock to make bouillon cubes too if you’re running short on jars.
I actually do this ❤
THE MAC'S DID THAT.
You donate a couple of those porkbutts to a local food shelf for those in need.
Pork butt is great for tamales!! Even when it’s canned pork butt .... yumm
You're playing my C❤️H🏈I💛E🏈F❤️S!!!
I made pepper powder with my peppers this summer. I roasted some and then dehydrated them. Ground them up in a spice grinder. 1000% worth the effort.
I did this with extra tomatoes and use it to thicken spaghetti sauce.
You'll find many uses for jalapeno powder. I put it in my burger meat, Mac & cheese, popcorn, beans, & taco meat; just off the top of my head.
Soups, eggs toast. It goes in everything. Meatloaf, all meats chili vegan soups, lentils. My mom and I use it in just about all foods. Adds the taste. Great in BBQ. Your correct Granny Herbert. Sweet lady. Or Hot MOMMA. L.O.L.
My first guess was 23 hrs. Now I'll say 26 hrs.
My guess is 12 hours! Whohoo! Spicy! ❤️
The airflow on your seedlings also helps to prevent fungus/mold on the soil surface also!
I love canning pork it taste awesome. You can use it in so much different dinners .
Make Tamales with the pork and then freeze the Tamales
Two ideas for peppers: grind your freeze dried peppers and add to pink Himalayan salt for jalapeño salt....
2nd idea: last year I took 9 varieties of hot and sweet peppers, diced with onions and minced garlic. Drizzled with olive oil and salt and roasted. Freeze dried the resulting pan of heaven. Ground up and mixed with white vinegar powder that I ordered on Amazon. It makes the most flavorful seasoning to be used on everything. The vinegar powder helps with flow and adds a very satisfying and addictive tang.
Nice
Oh my gosh! I literally made 7 loaves of zucchini bread yesterday from frozen zucchini in my freezer and this morning through all my frozen assorted peppers in my dehydrator! Wish I had a freeze dryer but the dehydrator will work!
I love to make Powdered Peppers to have in my pantry! Hope you two feel better soon
I make pepper jelly first. Great with bread and cream cheese.
What is the energy usage for your freeze dryer
I slice all my peppers and put in dehydrator then put in jars as sliced, or powder. I also dry some whole. Rain Country has a Mason jar air extractor if that's what you call it lol. The ones with food saver can't be found. I want to get one from her, she has a etsy store. I have to say though that machine you have looks mighty nice. One day we keep saying haha
I'm doing a ton of sweet bonnets this year, I love the idea of turning it into powder!
That was an interesting project. I thought the jalapeños heat would be more intense after freeze drying.
Jen put one of those pork roasts in your instant pot and make pulled pork BBQ or I do green chili, it's just another way to use those roasts
We use pork bits to make our own breakfast sausage. Granted that doesn’t really help with freezer space but if you packaged flat it would take up less space.
Cmon Zach! You call that little nibble a BITE??!!! Bahahaha!
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU STIVERS ❤💙💚💜
I have seen so many post in my group, myself included, upset because have to toss bags of food. Most of the times, seeds are the issue. Check your bags often, if you powder them, sift them.
Our KC Chiefs vs Cincinnati Bengals Sunday!!
This comment is off topic but I know Zack has had issues with work and certain mandates.. Please do a video on the convoy in Canada. Its my understanding the states are joining in. This is to end all mandates and restore freedom. Stand with us!! Roll on truckers!!!
14 hrs on jalapenos
I just freeze dried 4 gallons bags of chopped hot peppers, to also clear out the freezer.
God Bless your family can't wait for my book due sometime in February but as long as I have your video I'm happy 💕
Wow that's alot of pepper. Hope you feel better soon.
Great idea!
I'm going to say 13 hours
MY GUESS IS 20 HOURS
WHO DEY🏈
14 hours, feel better soon!! Those jalapeños are just what you need. Have you ever grown Serrano peppers?
So I am curious about the smell! You can’t hardly dehydrate jalapeños in the house because of the smell!
I'm thinking...freeze dry some cheddar cheese then grind it up with some of those jalapeños. Sprinkle it over some popcorn, BOOM!!! Jalapeño Cheddar popcorn, bangin' snack.
Could make some good biscuits or cornbread with it too.
@@desert_moon WHAAAAAAAAAA 🤯?!?!? Omg, yes!!!!!
You should make potato slices then freeze dry them and use what ever seasonings on them for potato chips
Great video. Go Bengals next Sunday. My husband’s favorite team.
Get well soon
19 for pepers
Did the rehydrate pepper have any heat? Love yall ❤
WHO DEY!
Hi beautiful Stiver family ♥️
i lucked out on day the store near me had about 5-6 packs of Chinese hot chili peppers so i bought them all for next to nothing and dehydrated them all and crushed some left some whole now i have the heat for cooking that i love to eat and will last me a long time best 2 bucks i ever spent lol
🇨🇦
Hope y’all feel better soon!
30 hours
I can’t wrap my brain around canned meat. It can’t have the same flavor as fresh meat roasted. Does it compare at all?
Are you going to ask for some of the bones and the fat to make broth and tallow?
That was way longer than I thought. I think the heat intensifies when freeze dried.
Jen several you tubers are doing Canuary and have several videos on canning meat. Looks like would help you.
10 hours
Wait! You said there wasn't heat in the first freeze dried jalapeno (loved Jen's face in that taste test) but you didn't say anything about the heat in the rehydrated pepper. 🌶
28 hours is my guess
I can hardly wait to start my seedlings here in Michigan.
I am in s.e. mi Dianne. Where are you❓🀄

Bake a pork butt with garlic salt at 250* for like 12 hours, makes the best carnitas meat tostadas, enchiladas, taquitos, tacos, burritos, chili verde, chili Colorado meat😋
My guess--21 hours. When did you turn your Premier pump on? When you started, or after you got the beep saying it couldn't achieve a vacuum and asked if you turned on your pump and opened your drain valve? Please answer!
You can use a room make a freezer out of it Justin Rhode did it
hey jen i just order your book i cannot wait in till in gets here
What book?
Jens new book
@@jenjones7366 I looked on their website and didn't see anything about a book. Hadn't heard thwm.mention one in videos either. I may have missed it.
@@BroqueCowgirlHomestead she has a cookbook on amazon
@@Bev437Sqn ahhh Thank You.
24 hrs.
20 hours is my guess ❄️🌶❄️ Although I have never used a freeze Dryer … so this is purely a guess 😂😂
Also an idea to use those is to cut them and add them to popcorn …. ITS SO YUMMY
The seeds in your produce causes problems..they dont want to dry ..please keep an eye on them in storage..
We shred cooked pork butt smother in BBQ sauce bake and make sandwiches. In Memphis it's about pork not beef. 😉

48 hr
Well - you could make a batch or three of pozole out of one of them pork butts - right?
25 hours.
Ok. Second guess is 30 hours
Would these peppers make a good dried snack? Are any hot after freeze drying?
Not near as hot! Somehow the heat must evaporate.
Mississippi pork roast is awesome canned. See Sutton Daze ir Geni Goth's channel
30 hours❤️
25 +hr, for whole peppers
Do u recycle ur freezer bags. I hope so

Also your jalapeño was frozen. The skin would’ve peeled off once thawed and would not have been crunchy.
Which do you think is the better appliance to have. Freeze dryer or dehydrator??
They’re both extremely valuable. That’s tough. But freeze dryers take it to a whole new level, for sure.
Too late to guess , but I would have lost this one, 😣.
What , WOW long Time!
Does that make your Light Bill go up?
Feel better soon 😘.
JO JO IN VT 💕😄☃
Joanne, a couple of days ago Billy freeze-dried quite a few items. He also freeze-dried some ice cream. They only gave one to his neighbor and his neighbor was outside eating it and he said hey look Billy it don't drip! Anyway back to the wattage and power usage. He freeze-dried various cookie sheets of food and made a comparison to cook each cookie sheet. He stated the cost per sheet was quite minimal.
@@paulatwood998
Thanks Paul 👍
Was the rehydrated pepper as hot as fresh?
They sound like Cheetos.
