Hey! Love the tour! I have two Joel Cherry bushes that have been in the ground for maybe four years. I got them as babies and they have grown to about 3x3 . They don’t get near as much sun as they probably need, but I have had cherries for two years now. They aren’t super huge, but it’s cool to have them….lol….we plan on getting a couple of cherry trees also, so we can have larger cherries. Not sure we have done all that could’ve been done to make them more plentiful or larger in size, but we are constantly learning! Have a great year in the garden!

Your garden is beautiful! I planted a smaller raised garden this year , my first time with raised beds. I usually plant in the ground but didn’t have the space this year and my chickens need the room more than me planting a garden. I keep adding to my beds cause I keep think what all I can freeze and can and with the price of food right now( will only get worse) I figured even if we don’t eat much of that veggie, we will if it comes down to not having anything else to eat. LoL I hope you have a blessed harvest this year and can’t wait to see all your upcoming videos.

  • @Jazzgirlaust

Jen the J/Artichokes can cause lots of gas when eaten fresh or cooked, but they ferment well & then you don't have any gas problems when you eat them. They only stay good in the fridge about 10 to 12 days, so fermenting them preserves them really well too & they stay nice & I've found they stay pretty crisp. Your garden layout is amazing, I'm so envious! My husband & I both have some major health problems but we still try to have our veggie gardens, all are small raised beds on legs so we don't have to bend too much, but I also love the grow bags, we put them up on benches for ease of use. Sadly there is just now way to make our garden pretty like yours, but we do our best with lots of flowers etc. Best wishes for a wonderful garden season.

Whew Jenn, you really need to direct sow your peas late Feb, early March. It may get too hot too fast and they won't produce this year. I'm in the zone just below you and I've already harvested almost 2 gallons of pods, my plants are almost done. Fingers crossed your will keep growing.
We harvest Jerusalem artichokes when we got to the TN river. They grow crazy up there. Eat them like potatoes. Y'alls farm is looking FABULOUS! Really enjoyed your tour! It's crazy how different just one zone difference can be. I'm already done with my broccoli and cabbage will start being harvested next week! I love seeing the differences!

We currently live in Arizona and have never been able to get any herbs or tomatoes for more than four weeks until they turn to dust from the sun! We are so excited to get our hands and the good old earth again!

Corn support suggestion: I too grow corn in raised beds and if wind/storms is a concern, put up stakes at both ends of the rows and zigzag string between the corn stalks, zig zag down one side to the end stake, circle around and zig zag the opposite sides back to the stake you started from, at about 18" and 36" up to have them support each other.

I put down the fancy dewalt black fabric all over the garden and then decided to test out pebbles on top of the fabric at the entrance of the garden. I'm so glad I didn't put pebbles all over the garden because the weeds are constantly growing in those pebbles. The black fabric is so nice in the garden to keep it clean and weed free and I'll never put anything on top of it.
